-
Does not include the Eee.

eee pc is not a notebook atleast asus does not sell it under their global warranty. eee pc sales is on the components side not notebooks
-
I know it says one claim, but does that mean they fix ONE THING, ONCE or they can fix MULTIPLE THINGS, ONCE?
Because I have a slight problem with my G2S, but if it is MULTIPLE THINGS, ONCE, then I will wait until a year passes to fix it, and any other problems that may have come up during this time. -
Tried to register for this, filled out the fields and hit the required button. All I saw was 'done' on my screen and no confirmation. When I tried it again (thought it didn't go through), it indicated the serial number in use notice.
I never received any confirmation e-mail and nothing was blocked from what I could tell. I may try to give them a call on Monday to see if they did receive it or no. -
-
Double checked mine and no dice unfortunately. I think I'll still have to give them a call (been swamped with work).
Thank you for the suggestion though! -
Got my confirmation today. Thanks OP.

Is this offer still available? Will probably be buying tomorrow...

"For notebooks purchased on or after Sept. 10, 2007. The ASUS 360 Notebook Service Program and Accidental Damage Warranty cover “ASUS” brand notebooks only, and do NOT extend to: “Built on ASUS,” “ASMobile,” “Powered by ASUS,” the Eee PC, or some other models. These retailers are currently among the companies that do NOT participate in the ASUS 360 Notebook Service Program and Accidental Damage Warranty: Best Buy, and The Source by CircuitCity in Canada. Limited of one claim per notebook for Accidental Damage Warranty. ASUS reserves the right to discontinue this program and to modify the terms and conditions thereof at any time. ASUS Accidental Damage Warranty Program starts from the date of your ASUS notebook purchase, when all the requirements are met."
There is a start date but no apparent end date.
Bets of luck. My G2S B2 arrives Tuesday, 01-08-2008 and I am really excited.
Jim -
the end date is 1 year from the date of purchase.
-
bah I got my laptop at Best Buy back in November
-
I actually won an ASUS VX2S Lamborghini (thru MSN Hotmail).....and because I won it.... I don't qualify for the accidental coverage.
bummer!!
For those that do have one...where is the best place to get info, support and stuff......This has so many things on it..I have no clue how to use!! -
My G1S-B2 arrived today.
I'm in Australia.
Does this apply to me? -
stupid q: warranty isnt voided by upgrade right? im talking about those other than barebones and the c90.
-
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
HDD and RAM upgrades do not void warranty. Most other things you might try to do with Ensemble model insides generally will.
-
Usually you will also be able to access the mini-PCI slot, and even stuff inside the LCD like inverter board, without breaking the heatsink seals and thus voiding warranty.
-
i come from Europe. If i purchase asus notebook in USA and go back, and them something goes wrong with notebooks, does ASUS 360 with 20224 protection warranty still apply to me and i can get free asus service care?
-
-
-
Technically, yes. Practically, no. If you have to return the notebook for service, it's best to replace the original harddrive however. But again, in practice, they won't care unless the new HDD is the cause of the problems.
-
Asus USA website removed accidental warranty and added 1 year battery pack warranty instead.
-

the accidental warranty is still included. they did not discontinue it
-
I have found that some retailers do not mention this warranty and sell identical model for USD 50-80 less. Also I've found that not all the models go with this warranty. Check newegg.com for instance. Not each specification has this warranty while all specs have 2 years labor and parts coverage -
Geared2play.com Company Representative
newegg and best buy carry "special skus" ones that no other vendors have. they typically lack items like accessories and warranty. Regular channel skus are all the same and all carry the same warranty
-
I guess that came out right. -
newegg's prices are actually higher than some of the vendors on this site... do your homework before buying
-
Does the Buyer's Assurance coverage you get from buying a laptop with a credit card apply to the accidental damage waranty? So if I buy an asus laptop with the accidental warranty with my visa, will the accidental waranty double to 2 years?
source if you don't know what buyer's assurance is: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3066&article=laptop+warranty+guide
-
. I gave my girlfriend my Communicator and someone stole it from her purse. I bought it with my mastercard and I had an option, get another one or have them wire my money back. I got another one because I love that phone. The same will happen with my U6 if it gets stolen, arrives broken from the states or the train runs over it
.
-
-
I seriously doubt this will not apply :
-
It states the buyer's assurance won't apply to the 2 year parts/labor warranty, but my real question is does it apply to the 1-year Accidental Damage Warranty discussed in this thread.
-
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
No, it won't - you can check with MC/VISA on that.
Credit card warranty extensions apply to manufacturer's product warranty - ADP is a separate product/service offered by Asus and not part of the main product warranty, so the extension is not applicable. -
thanks a bunch -
you'll fine the same ad on the italian market ;-)
-
So you are saying that if i buy my computer off of newegg, i cannot register for this accidental damage protection
-
@Dryak25: I bought an ASUS F8SP-X1 from NewEgg and it has the 1 year acc.dam. protection.
I bought the notebook with the credit card of my gf and with her address and name. Now I want to ask something:
1. I'm going to use the laptop in Europe. I know it has an international 2 year warranty but is the accidental damage protection international too? Or is it only for America?
2. My gf needs to fill the papers for the warranty. Should she use my european address and my name for that? Or does she have to use her name and address in which she purchased it for me? And if she does, then can I use it here in Europe if something goes wrong with the notebook?
Excuse me for my bad english -
accidental only US.
No need to fill in any papers to have warranty service in Europe, AFAIK. Just the S/N and a copy of the receipt should suffice. -
Pitty it's not available for EU :-(( Why? I think more people buy ASUS in Europe than in the states. Meh.. Well, if (knock knock) something accidental happens till december I can bring it to US as I'm gonna spend my winter holidays there
-
i'm using it if my NEXT G1s comes back overheating
-
If i purchased an Asus laptop and decided to upgrade the Hard Drive myself, does that void the warranty for any reason.
-
I'm not sure this is the thread where this should have been posted, but: in practice warranty is not void (although technically it is). So you can go ahead and replace, just keep the old one in case you need to send the laptop for repairs, in which case you should replace the old one.
-
I hope they will offer this service in Germany in future.
-
is there an option to extend beyond one year?
-
Does anyone know how to "use" your warranty?
A few weeks ago the screen on my ASUS G2S-A1 suddenly got a blue line through it; but it is only there when the screen is in a certain place. To get rid of it, I have to keep readjusting the screen to get in a spot where the line does not show. There is also one appearing on the very right edge of the screen that also appears at the same time as the one in the middle.
I'm thinking that a connector might just be loose, but I don't trust myself to open the thing up and take a look so I think I am going to just send it in.
So my question is, who, at ASUS, do I need to contact to to get this fixed under the "Free 1 Year Accidental Damage Warranty" which I applied for last September when I purchased my lappy? -
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Call Asus USA tech support and arrange for RMA; something probably got kinked or worn. This will be covered under the G2's regular warranty, not ADP (which is for liquids, drops, etc).
-
So I am about to pull the trigger on a ASUS F8Va-C1. Where is the best place to buy from to ensure the asus 360 warranty applies to me? Best buy is no good, and not newegg, right?? i may be misreading...
-
Best Buy does not have it. I don't know about NewEgg, but I believe they do (they should state so on the webpage of the model, otherwise you could call and ask). I'm pretty sure the resellers listed on the Info Booth have it, unless you ask them to open the box and customize the notebook in which case they cover the warranty and not ASUS.
