im wondering, i knw asus has global warranty, but does it cover egypt? im going to egypt for 6years.. cause i see in their site that they have no service center there..so if the laptop is broken, who do i send it to and how?? can someone please please enlighten me on this
-
Usually when in a country with no service center, you send it to the nearest service center even though it's another country. But I'm not sure that works for Egypt. You should call an ASUS support center and ask.
-
ok, thanks alot

Good morning,
I just bought a Asus G50V-A1 and I enter the S: N for the guarantee of damage a year and I have a message saying it was before Sept. 2007 ...
how is this possible? -
Probably a bug. Try calling them. G50-s weren't even designed back in 2007.
-
Is it possible to add warranty to an Asus laptop already purchased? e.g. if the two year runs out, can you add a years more warranty afterwards?
-
-
There may be a time limit after the purchase during which you can apply for extended warranty. Check the terms...

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
-
Ahbeyvuhgehduh Lost in contemplation....
This is one of the reasons why I opted for my soon to be laptop. I wish other companies would adopt a similar policy!
-
Does anyone know if ASUS would accept a copy of the invoice (to complete ADW registration) via fax?
-
After trying to send a fax out yesterday and receiving an email from them today, I can now answer my own question. - Yes. T'was $1.50 very well spent.
-
I was able to register my G50Vm-X1 bought at Best buy for the Accidental Warranty. I read elsewhere that they weren't giving Best Buy customers this opportunity since Best Buy makes money on extended warranty purchases themselves.
Here's a BIG middle finger to Best Buy and their propaganda. I love you Asus! -
Interesting. Hopefully it is indeed fully supported and not just a glitch (like, the serial numbers of the BB shipments getting into the ADW database when they shouldn't have).
-
I'm faxing my documents to them now, and I will update my post here with the status as it progresses. Paying over $1000 should give a guy some bennies. I've never needed an Asus warranty for anything other than "accidental" crap. I might just hump it now.
-
just registered and received the confirmation email. If you're using a free email account, make sure the spam filter didn't pick up your confirmation email and redirect it.

So they hate their eee PC 1000 customers?
These customers get a single country warranty of 1 year --- not even international.
eee PC warranties (even for $500 and up high end machines) are the worst in the business. -
I guess this is all part of the drive to save costs, shrink the price, and make the netbook attractive. We can't complain really, we as the customers set the drive for cheap netbooks, so the companies have to oblige by cutting costs in every way they can...
-
The problem is, the eee PC 1000 is selling for $500 to $600.
That is not exactly a cheap machine anymore.
Dell sells full featured 15.4" notebooks at Best Buy for $500 a piece. -
Well the price increase to the 1000 is reflected in the upgraded specs. And those Dells are cheap Dells, too.
Maybe Europeans see prices differently, but 500-600 dollars for a highly portable computer is still dirt cheap in my opinion.
Just think what we would need to pay for a computer if they were not produced in SE Asia by people working for nearly nothing... -
Believe it or not... those people living in SE Asia live all right (given the local cost of living) on their wage.
I seriously believe that Asus is over reaching their Brand by jacking up prices far faster than they are increasing quality.
My Asus eee PC 1000 was full of examples of chintzing and cheap parts that I am sure some stupid manager thought they can get away with, like putting in a stick of 400mhz memory (to save less than 30 cents), a cheap wifi card that kept failing which I had to replace, etc. -
I got my verification email today about my successful registration for the Accidental Warranty. Remember, I got this G50Vm-X1 at Best Buy, which claims that the warranty is only 1 year. Here's what the email said:
"Our record shows that we have received all required documents needed to complete the registration of your ASUS notebook computer. The notebook is now protected by both ASUS 360 Notebook Service Program and ASUS Accidental Damage Warranty Program, and they are both valid from the purchase date."
So not only did I gain the Accidental Warranty, I also got the added bonus of the 360 Program which includes a 2-year warranty, free 2-way shipping, and free tech support. Nice!
Without this thread, it wouldn't have been known by me, so here's to whoever started this topic...Coriolis.Muchas Gracias!

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
-
When does this end?
-
When does what end? The ADW? I haven't seen any announcement that ASUS plan to drop the ADW in North-America any time soon.
-
Thanks in advance! -
-
I suspect it was a fluke where one of the shipments to BestBuy got into the ASUS database of serial numbers for notebooks that have the ADW. This is no longer the case for the later shipments...
The question is, what happens if one of those people who managed to register their notebooks, makes a claim... -
What fax number I should fax invoice to asus to complete ADW registration?
-
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Call Asus tech support and ask them, to ensure it gets to the correct place for your particular region

I just used this service and it was a fantastic experience. My notebook had been dropped awhile back and the hinges were damaged. One of them was so bad that the LCD was almost completely separated from the base by the time I took it in. Since the service center was close to my work I dropped it off in the morning and by the next day it had been repaired! They completely replaced the LCD screen and the hinges so everything works perfectly again.
Also, I had mentioned that the CPU fan had been running more frequently and quite a bit louder compared to when I purchased the unit. All I can say is that the fan is so much quieter and from CoreTemp I'd say its running on average about 8 degrees celsius cooler! The service note said they cleaned the fan of dust etc but since I had done this myself a couple of times in the past I have to think that they might have replaced the fan and/or heatsink as well.
All I can say is well done Asus, you've earned my service again once I decide to upgrade in the future. -
Hey does anyone know if they got their 2 year global warranty for notebook bought in China but imported into Canada?
I've been trying to look for some info on that but i cant seem to find it.
Well i just see that they only have that support if you bought your notebook from North America. -
I just used this service, as I spilled tea on my G2S. Service was simple, quick and my laptop works perfectly. My next laptop will be an Asus...
-
Well, I tried to register for the ADW a few times and it keeps giving me the message "This Serial Number is exist!". I've previously registered online for the basic warranty a few weeks ago... So two questions:
1) Does that mean I am already registered for the ADW?
2) Do I need to send in my receipt or is my notebook already registered?
Just want to get everything sorted out before I started mucking around with stuff like RAID0. -
I think we cannot say for sure, this may be an internal error on their server for instance... Instead of asking here, it is much better if you call them and get it sorted out directly.
-
Just thought I'd tap the vast knowledge pool here...I've found out so many useful things on this forum.
-
-
Now, after the horrid experience with them, I have doubts on the claim. -
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
This was a known problem with the G50 series when it came out due to database problems with the model serials, and was covered in several threads as I recall. Multiple members here reported that the fix for registration in this case was to call Asus directly. -

so whats this thing about newegg I hear. Some say you will be able to claim accidental damage and others say you can't?
Also, say asus gives you 2 year warranty and you buy an extended 2 year warranty from newegg for 99.99 and use an american express does that mean I will technically be covered for 5 years? -
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Credit card warranty extension programs extend out the term length of the "original" manufacturer warranty only, and vary by card issuer and their terms (some have a maximum extension timeframe, i.e. no more than 12 months extension). These credit card programs never apply to other forms of extended coverage that might be purchased.
In the example you posit, this would be a doubling of the first 2 year warranty only (and would not apply to the NE 2yr extension). As for the ADP in models purchased at Newegg, it may depend on which ones you're looking at as NE gets some exclusive (and less expensive) models which arrive at their lower price by virtue of having less features and/or coverage for that lower price.
Asus' accidental damage protection runs concurrent through the first year of Asus' warranty coverage, and allows for a single incident only. -
hey guys
do i have to send in the postcard to get this warranty
or is am i automatically registered when i sign up for membership on asus' site? -
-
i just signed up so lets see what happens. just gotta mail in everything
-
Asus is great, I find there notes to be well designed and as my big brother puts it, there technical support services are just amazing..
-
I find it rather remarkable that they offer coverage for spills, given how many of us drink soda close to our laptops
-
Perfect I was planning on picking up a g50vt-x5 around that timeframe
-
does anyone know if this coverage will be offered to asus laptops bought from say, a big box retailer like best buy?
