If the warranty card stating that you have ADW is in the box, can Asus not honor it because of where you purchased the machine? I didn't realize a reseller could have any affect on warranty.
The reason I'm concerned about this is that I bought my G51J-A1 from the same reseller 7 months ago. With 3 little kids running around the house there's always the chance that my laptop takes a dive or has a cup of juice spilled on it. The ADW was a big part of the reason I chose to go with an Asus.

wondering, is there any kind of "accident" asus will refuse?
I drive a bike, and hit high speeds on hwys for example.
if it ever fell out of my knapsack?
I also go sailing. I do use it on the deck.
If there was ever a high wind, and sends the ship sideways, and laptop goes "dunk"...
is it covered?
Ofourse, I'll prob. have to jump in to give them the broken laptop still....
Nonetheless, as weird as the last scenario sounds, it is something that can happen to me. Is it covered?
Or, if I ever had such a weird happening, should I just say something easier to avoid complications? ie: dropped in pool by accident, etc...
thanks -
I believe the terms and conditions are available online on their support site.

I have searched around the forum and couldn't find anything, I am having problems with my g73jh as after a small drop the fan now sounds much louder and the graphics card overheats and shutsdown when I play just about any game. my question is how long will it take for them to send me a replacement once I send mine in as I currently use it for work and will have a little less then a month between when i wont need it for work and when i need to go back to college. will that be enough time?
if not, can they return ship it to a different address then from where I sent it?
sorry for so many questions but i really want to play some COD:MW2 for more then 4 minutes before shutting down.
thanks -
Call ASUS for an RMA, and see if there is a local ASP location where they can do the work. Usual turnaround from these sites is 3 days depending if hardware is available. They may send the stuff out to the ASP and have them call you when it arrives, so you can use it while you wait.
Just a thought. -
thanks, it turns out there is one near my college so I will simply do it when I get back. and suffer without a laptop for a week or so.
when you say "send the stuff" do you mean replacement parts? simply because I am concerned that if they fix parts and when i get it back something goes wrong with the gfx card again, will they replace it again or will I just be out of luck? -
ship whatever parts the tech needs for the fix. If the problem still persists, and you're in warranty, they'll keep at it til it works.

I mailed the documents to finalize the ADW registration3 weeks ago and I haven't received an email confirmation from Asus yet...does it take this long for them to process this?
-
yah it does, i mailed mine in on Feb 20th and I got the confirmation of my registration on June 30th. but i called ASUS about a seperate issue mid may and slipped in a question about weather i was protected yet by ADW and they said yes I was.
As far as I know it just takes them a while to send out the confirmation email, although it beats me why it should take so long. -
does this apply to those who buy asus products from bestbuy?
-
I got a store credit because I didn't see any 15'' on the floor and I wanted to read up on the 17''. And god that thing is ugly on the outside.
Anyway, there you have it. They refunded my money on a almost 1 year old laptop for a minor keyboard issue.
Best buy told me it took Asus so long to get back to them with parts. And he said a lot of times the laptops would come back 4 weeks later with nothing done to them. So now they just exchange or refund. If that is the policy, I wonder how long best buy will keep carrying Asus. -
I tried to register my daughters Eee PC we bought from Newegg a few weeks ago and it won't let me. Reading further it appears they only offer it from certain retailers. Is this correct?

I am wondering if the ADW extends abroad? I've looked at the terms and searched all around, but all it says is that the ADW applies if bought in NA.
Basically I'll be buying the laptop on Canada, but using it in HK.
If it is damaged in HK, will the ADW apply and can I get Asus HK to fix the laptop? -
Guys, I thought I would never need this, but the day has come..
I bought a UL30A from AMAZON, on FEBRUARY 2010.
I was living in the USA.
Now I live in Brazil. Anyone know if I can claim this warranty?
I just dropped my notebook today from about 4 feet.. It was inside a neoprene case.. I thought never happened.. I just opened it, and turned it on, and the screen broke inside.. On the outside is perfect, but inside is broken.. no image.. just some weird images..
I connected to an outside monitor through HDMI and the notebook is perfect.
The only problem is the screen, and a small crack on the chassis in the lower left corner..
Any ideas? -
I have the UL30A-X5. If I did not register within 60 days, is it hopeless to be able to get the Accidental Damage Warranty? Has anyone been able to register after 60 days?
I have met many others who bought the laptop and was under the impression the ADW came automatically with the laptop's purchase, and they did not know any registration was needed, let alone that there was a deadline of 60 days for registering for it. -

Asus Eee PC netbook series are 1 year only. According to the Asus phone support. I was disapointed buying the Asus 1015PEM from New Egg thinking I was going to get the 2 year global ..
-
Asus don't loves their customers. Asus loves only USA and Can customers and don't loves us, customers from other countries.
-
Asus loves their customers so much don't fix the keyboard lag on their notebook over 2 years and don't fix it or investigate it and solution comes to always same, disable the mouse pad from bios. is purpose for buying a note book anyways.....so disappointed about ASUS!! I thought it was just my note book which is G50VT-X2, however almost every ASUS notebooks have a keyboard lag issue. Unbelievable how they are lazy and careless about the customers who invest around 1000-2000 dollars and simply ignores on their hardware issue......I would never ever purchase the ASUS product, period!
-
If you have a beef with Asus about "keyboard lag" I guess your idea of solving such a problem is to come here and be outwardly hostile about it, and accuse the parent company of "lazy and careless" behavior about this socalled "issue" of keyboard lag? What a crock!
Did you ever Clean Install your notebook's OS and get rid of all the exterraneous and unnecessary programs, bloatware, games, Express Gate, all the stuff that you never, ever are going to use or need? Funny thing is that once you do that exercise the keyboard lag, and a lot of other issues vanishes, did anybody ever tell you that?
Well now you've been told! I'm not apologizing for Asus or saying that their tech support is 1st Class because although they try hard, they will never approach Apple's type of CS, where you're treated specially and problems are quickly escalated if they aren't solved straight away, and where things DO get done 100% of the time the right way, most often this is the case there...Asus will never approach that standard, but then again, they aren't the worst either when it comes to CS. Asus does try to be a little different as opposed to other PC vendors, at least outwardly so this is the case, and most times you *can* get something repaired, or fixed or improved to the customer's level of satisfaction, that is with most normal problems that a computer might have.
But to come here and tell us how Asus has failed to solve the 'keyboard lag' issue is pretty lame, and simplistic, and it's certainly not the case. Try Clean Installing your OS and applications, and drivers and utilities that YOU want rather than just using the Asus installer DVD's and letting them do the job for you, eliminate all the bloatware and crapware and then see if things don't improve with respect to "keyboard lag" and other issues too, that you might be experiencing.
That's my 10-cents worth of advice for your so-called problem with keyboard lag...just think, if it works you can maybe enjoy your notebook somewhat, that is if you can get over the hostility and anger toward Asus the company and concentrate on fixing the notebook...is that possible for you, can you try out that idea and see if the shoe fits?
Happy trolling, if that's what you do with your time on the 'Net... -
-
and if you think I'm a first timer for using a computer you are seriously mistaken. Yes I'm angry about the ASUS service and I do not think their service is 1st class either.
If you simply google it for ASUS laptop keyboard lag you will find out how severely poor ASUS laptop is made and it's not just for specific models problem and there are no solutions so far made from ASUS or software update to fix it despite of laptop is made it before a year ago.
And if you think I never try to format it, reinstall it, talk to what you so called 1st class service technician before express my anger on this nice community, well you probably think I am a stupid. -
You wrote: "f you simply google it for ASUS laptop keyboard lag you will find out how severely poor ASUS laptop is made and it's not just for specific models problem and there are no solutions so far made from ASUS or software update to fix it despite of laptop is made it before a year ago."
Well, well, I see you've possibly been using computers all wrong for some 20 years also, Hah! Does that make you an expert? I think not, nor does quoting Google for a source for Asus laptop problems.
I have owned four Asus laptops in the past year, a 1201N, an EEPC, and currently have a UL30VT-X1 and a primo G51JX-A1, and to a one I'd say that the keyboards were stunningly good, fantastic in fact, on each and every one of them, bar none. So I fail to see any validity to any of your generalizations about Asus laptops being "made poorly" and the keyboards being junk, just as your attitude and demeanor here reeks of Trollism and Trolling, and being a Troll, so Mr. Troll, why don't you just boogie down the road and find some other nice place to Troll in.?
Your "anger expression" to this Forum is a joke, and it's easy to see that you know NOTHING of what you are talking about, nor does it make any more sense than your general comments about keyboards being bunk in Asus computers. I happen to hold an opposing view, and have owned several CURRENT MODELS with xlnt keyboard and keyboard action...in fact my UL30VT's keyboard is one of the best in any notebook I've ever used, end of discussion...while the G51JX-A1 isn't quite as nice, as rigid, as sublime as the UL30's but it's still XLNT quality and I love typing on it WITHOUT KEYBOARD LAG OF ANY KIND!
So take that in your pipe and smoke it, and come back after you've given me some type of intrinsic and basic evidence to support your Trolling theories about keyboards being bunk in Asus products...Google notwithstanding, which is an awfully poor source for starters, and 2nd why don't you give us some URL's of examples of this Googling "bad Asus keyboard" issues, direct quotes and sources please rather than your stupid generalizations, and let's take it from the top Mr. Trollhaten!
It's not that you're stupid or an idiot, nothing like that, it's simply that your arguments are not worth the time of day, they don't jive with current owner's assessment of models being sold today, nor are they credible in any sense of that word...basically you suck, and that's just on a superficial level, and certainly the deeper we go the worse it would get.
Good Bye Mr. Troll, and good riddance! -
-
@rexrzer727 keyboard lag does exist, to prove, asus reps are working on it atm. search for gary key for updates. This is an issue that we are waiting patiently on asus to fix for us.
now... back on topic? -
This worries me before making my Asus purchase. I hate BS marketing tricks. Comments?

When i mailed my card i notice this on the bottom
does it mean i will get 2yr Accidental damge warrantyAttached Files:
-
-
in the same way, the wording on that card means that you get this extra coverage which is a 1 year ADW. not another extra year... -
About Asus's 1 year accidental warranty . Seeing as their website designs are always confusing and crap. i found the link where you can register. (Just realized the link was on the OP)
ASUS Accidental Damage Warranty
they ask you to mail stuff in after you submit the online registration (they tell you in a confirmation email).
do you get a confirmation after they receive what they want in the mail?
I love how they make it so difficult to accomplish this.

Same here. Then I spilled some liquid on my laptop and sent it back under their accidental damage warranty since I assumed I was covered since I sent in my registration the day after I bought it - and they told me I never registered it so I'm not covered! - but then they said they'll fix it up for me anyway.
OK, that's the good part. The bad part is I sent it to them a month ago, Dec. 1, and I can't get an answer from them as to when I'll have it back. I related my experiences here on this thread:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...asus-n71jq-owners-lounge-169.html#post6947233 -
I just tried to register my new N71JQ, which I purchased at Costco, for the ADW and was advised that it did not qualify. Upon reading the fine print on the registration page I see, "These retailers are currently among the companies that do NOT participate in the ASUS 360 Notebook Service Program and Accidental Damage Warranty: Best Buy, Best Buy Canada, OfficeMax, Staples, Costco, and The Source by Circuit City in Canada." That sucks, since not only do I not get the 1 year ADW, but apparently not the 2 year global warranty either. I searched this thread and saw discussions about Best Buy, but nothing on Costco, so just thought I would post it for anyone else who purchased there.
