There'll be a 19" C60/C70, hopefully that utilizes at least SLI![]()

True, but lugging a 19" around isn't that fun!
If it was a 17", 8800 for sure, SLI would be pushing it. -
C90 is limited to 3Gb Ram, isn't it a bit disappointing? I know most people don't need 4Gb of Ram, but most people won't buy a C90 anyway; It's brute force laptop for very very demanding usage, so 4Gb RAM is not uncommon right?

Im not too impatiant about the release date but I wish they would atleast ship some units out to the hardware site people for reviews.
Also I really want more news on the upcoming models and there specs to better help me choose what to do. But hey I guess they would rather keep us in the dark so we all buy the c90, then when they release a better model have some of us sell the c90 and go buy a c80 or somthingmore money for them.
-
I know what you mean.... though I believe if I could just get a definite "Yes there WILL be an 8800m GS and you WILL be able to put it in your C90S" I would be hitting that "Check Out" button I have been staring at pretty darn quick...
-
-
Oohh, Liquid hydrogen wouldn't be a bad idea neither....
Disco Fever anyone? -
CO2 bursts or LN2 on back of the jet pack C90s would be so hot I would pay a good 50bucks to press a button and watch the C90s spree nitrogen in the air like NOS while in class.

Two steam vents on either side that it could purge periodically. It would be like the G1's side lights, except extreme.
-
This is perhaps a retarded question, but those are most often the best ones to read
Since the C90S uses the Desktop Core 2 Duo LGA775 proc, could you upgrade that to something else that also uses the C2D LGA775...say a 3.4ghz proc? Or is there something else you have to be concerned with when looking at upgrades like that...I know heat for one, but I would hope that would be fairly taken care of being almost everyone's number 1 concern. If this intial release flunks, I'd say Asus has pretty much shot themselves in the foot. Which is why I think they decided to up the QA/QC on this model. -
Wouldn't it be cool if the C90 made hissing sounds like Star Trek doors when the open, and when you close the C90 it would make the sound that Darth Vader's helmet did when they sealed it on his head in Episode III. Hah, that would be cool!
I guess this kinda makes me a nerd. -
AlexOnFyre Needs to get back to work NBR Reviewer
There are ways to do that. There are triggers on the computer that turn the screen off when it is closed and turns it on when it is opened. It wouldn't be easy, but you could program something to make that happen.
-
could you also teach me alex to put a purge kit on the back of my c90 to shoot up in the air and shoot a small amount of LN into the system. Now that would be awesome. If not sitting next to some kids in class and spreeing em with some cool air would be pretty fun too

Actually, since the speed of the fans is controllable, and you could hook up a spraying mechanism to the fan jumpers so that when a certain threshold is passed (i.e. whenever you increase the fan speed) it would spray.
-
Only poking fun, that would be cool! But I think you would need to be able to modify it, even my Homer Simpson desktop theme started driving me nuts after a couple weeks. Or maybe it was the error messages that accompanied the "Doh"'s.... -
Since the C90 is so customizeable, I would think "Doh!" and "AAAGGHH" sounds for like putting ram in backwards or something would be all-together appropriate.... then again while we're at the idea of more exciting PC feedback, I think having Windows be more creative with it's Blue Screens of Death would be cool too; like a building high pitched whine, and then a sudden CRACK, and a fullscreen graphic of a cracked screen. *shudder*, now THAT would be an effective error message

It might as well just say:

Tons of highlights from Computex 2007. One of them being the C90.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
The battery life of the C90 is the only thing making me not want to buy it. The upgrade part is great and is the main reason I am considering to buy it, but I really need more battery life than that. At least 1 and a 1/2 hours comfortably....
-
AlexOnFyre Needs to get back to work NBR Reviewer
it is only about 9 minutes short of that
-
question about the c90, is that HUGE fan on the back removable? Also the TV Tuner comes standard right? Or is it separate, because resellers aren't offering it as an option for more $, it just says TV tuner in the specs and optional in parenthesis.
-
man, this wait is killing me....i think this is the first time in my life i've woken up every morning actually HOPING that my bank account was completely drained
-

oh man, that sucks. This laptop is pretty much perfect [for me anyway] and the 4 huge fans could be close to a deal breaker. They are so big and stick out so much. DX10, desktop cpus, wsxga+, 3GB ram, everything else...lol
Cool.
What do you mean about the TV Tuner? Its installed but I have to buy a cable to connect.....? -
yeah cauz youd on't want that big freakin coax plug sticking out the side of your laptop do you?
taht would be no good if that thing was constantly sticking out lol -

Actually, I just got word that Asus has a terrible habit of removing built-in TV Tuners from NA releases because they have problems with the NTFS system. The C90 will most likely not have the connector.
-
at least the 4 fans could be a mini hair dryer(if you wished to)
haven't any news yet??
it is tuesday already... -

I made a thread for release dates check that one out
-
Maybe this has been asked..........If so I'm sorry..........Will the c90 support a QX6700 Processor
Thanks -
The C90 will not support a Quad Core processor.
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
They say its not compatible due to thermal reasons (it runs too hot for the cooling solution that the c90 uses) but if they didnt setup the bios as to restrict use of the cpu, it would run just fine, but you would need to beef up the cooling somehow or try undervolting the cpu. -
AlexOnFyre Needs to get back to work NBR Reviewer
No, Quad Core is only supported by the bearlake chipset, which is released for notebooks later this year. Look for the C80 to be released in the winter time.
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
The quad core cpu goes into other chipsets than the bearlake, I know sombody that has it in a 975x -
AlexOnFyre Needs to get back to work NBR Reviewer
It has two physical cores though...it wouldn't make since for a board that only supports one core (i.e. every single one up to this point), to fit one with two. I think bearlake is based on 975...but maybe not.

ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
works with 680i, 975x, 965WH, even the 875p.
pretty much any socket 775 mobo can support it with up to date bios. -
sence I already have a QX6700 I might try and see if it will work.........thanks for the responce.
-
i just made a c90/c90s/c91/c80 owners lounge thread to sum up everything and limit confusion.
