OK, so I finally replaced my M5N with a new F9S. However, mine came with a 3945ABG, instead of the 4965AGN as mentioned on the Asus website. Does anyone know which card is supposed to be in the F9S-B1? I've did searches everywhere, and there were so many different stories.

It depends on where you buy it from--its all up to your retailer.
Some just sell you the notebook with the ABG, but others offer an upgrade (for an additional amount of $$) to install the AGN.

I thought the wireless part was preconfigured by Asus and couldn't be swapped out. At least I know my M5Np was like that. It came with a 2200BG card that cannot be removed (mine was a barebone).

But now I guess the question is does my machine have the 3rd antenna...

Will have to dig into the machine... :p

Well that doesn't make sense. I suppose that's what the sub-model is supposed to designate: the configuration of the machine. If two places have two different F9S (e.g. A1 or B1), I wouldn't be surprised. But if both machines have the same sub-model, and yet the configuration is different, that's where I'm confused.

I've got the 4965agn and running in G mode. I've not seen anymore yet connect with anything other than G with my card. If it's supposed to be that way, I'd leave it and wait on a final N protocol. IOW, I know of no one who is benefiting from the AGN card. If you are, please step forward. :D

There's only one router that connect in N proper with the card, the Buffalo dual band nfiniti, and it's over 200 samolians and I'm not even sure of that.
