glad you received your laptop. :)

You don't need to activate in BIOS, you just need to click All Programs>Asus Security Center>My Identity and then click Register Finger Prints.

Did you clean install Windows? just insert the drivers CD and install the fingerprint software and driver, it should work.

I'm really looking into buying this laptop, but I have a stick of 2GB DDR2-667 laying around so I wanted to upgrade it to 4GB. Looking around the ASUS site though I couldn't find any Vista 64 drivers for this notebook as it is required to upgrade to a 64 bit OS to be able to benefit from the 4GB of RAM. Am I missing something here? Has ASUS not released these drivers yet?

The drivers DVD works for both vista 32 and 64.

Be aware that 64bit is still somewhat issuey, though (e.g. drivers may take a performance hit because they were not properly optimized, there may be more bugs etc.)

Which is one of the selling points for the M50Sv series. The touchpad is a little farther to the right. :)

Yeah, the did it right on the M50Sv, but not on the M51Sn unfortunately. How could the same company do such a stupid thing?

Yeah, I'm not sure why either.

Say, how does your penguin know my IP? Is there anything I can do to prevent it?

It only reflects the info back to you and no one else. It's all done on your system. It's just showing what your system broadcasts to websites you visit. It's just a little fun gimmick. You're at no risk from it at all.

I hate to drag up old posts, but does anyone know where I could find a replacement battery for the M51Sn?

I've found a few sites (with sketchy design, IMO), and most are out of stock. Other sites that sell them don't have a complete list of compatibility for the batteries.

    Thanks ;)

You can get them at GenTech PC, both 6 cell and 9 cell, here's the link.

If you play first person shooters you'll know why. Its exactly where i need it to be. If i want to write a paper, i can turn it off and on if i feel its getting in the way when i'm doing typing.

Hey guys I just got this laptop today after alot of research...

It is a good laptop in general ... but one thing is bothering me so much.

The webcam's framerate is about 2-3fps max while using LifeFrame3. So it shows a ghosting affect when recording video. Is anyone having the same issue, meaning that it is a very **** camera, or is it just my particular laptop?

Thanks in advance for any replies.
