hi, I was looking for a month a good notebook, i am a designer and have to move too much.

I first think in w3v (Pentium M 750 1.86 GHz 512 Mb/80Gb 14" TFT WXGA DVD ATI Mobility Radeon X600 128Mb). But it doesnt have "Zero Bright Dot LCD Policy Guarantees Highest Display Quality" and if i would have a dead pixel in the screen i couldn´t work.

    then m6v --- M6V-S015H/PM750 1,86GHz 512MB 80GB x600 64 mbs---

Both have the same cost in spain.. what´s the difference? what is better for me?.. i read v6v are great but is the hotest and i need good portable machine, too many hours working.
and another question more.. do you know internet american asus reseller can send notebooks to spain?
    thank you everybody.. :)

from what you said, it seems like you do alot of movement. in that case I think the w3v may suit you, no idea of the pricing in Spain, but in the US, there was a big rebate going on.

Don't worry too much about what people say about the heat issues with each notebook... it's purely subjective (just like everything else).

I think you should go for the V6V due to its high resolution screen ... and it comes with ZBD Guarantee. The matte screen will be good on the eyes with prolonged use... and it's light!
M6V may be too heavy if you plan to move around a lot... and the W3v doesn't come with ZBD Guarantee, like you said. Plus the resolution isn't as high as the V6V's SXGA+.

I have a v6 and am very pleased with it.
After playing with various software, I have arrived at a happy setting with the heat.

My last computer - a Sony Vaio with a 600 mgz p3 put off almost no heat, so this was a bit of an experience. However, now I am running on a fairly hot day with no heat issues.

But, it's possible that the v6v will be hot with after effects and combustion software? and what`s the difference with w3v?
    thanks

V6V: 15" SVGA+ LCD (very high resolution -1400x1050 i think, matt finish (non glossy)). Because the screen size is bigger than the W3V it has a bigger overall size, but this one has been built using lightweight materials, and the overall weight is very low ~2.3kg.

W3V: 14" WXGA LCD (1280x760 i think, widescreen, glossy) the size is smaller than the V6V, and is more compact, but is approx. the same weight.

Internal specs are about the same. The differences are in the screen and the chassis. Choose the screen that best suits the type of work you do (I'd say the V6V has the better screen for the work you do because of the high resolution).

i agree that the v6 would be ideal for a designer. you'll want that higher resolution. and it's very light for it's size... i'd buy it myself if i didn't need a higher GPU for gaming.
