    Helpppppppp-----------Please

My wife's laptop is Asus U35jc-xa1 and it looks like that she didn't notice that the fan stopped working

and she ended up with a laptop that reboots continuously in a loop and does not start up,

we went to fix it in a local repair shop but he said he is going to search for a live extracted image of another Bios of the same model,so he can burn it to our bios.

I wonder If anyone has this live extracted bios file and not the one at asus site, pleaaaaaaaaaaaase

    Many Thanks in advance

I know it's late, but still...

Not sure why the effects of a bum fan would require a BIOS reburn.. in any event, you can download the latest BIOS from Asus here:
    https://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/U35Jc/#support

I suspect your technician is confused, but good luck sorting it out. These laptops run a bit warm, so there's a chance the CPU is toast? You could try prying the keyboard off and having a fan directed at the motherboard and seeing if that helps sort out your endless reboot loops. If so, get a new a fan? If not, best of luck dude!

Just curious, what would the ASUS equivalent to the U35JC today? What would you guys buy?

Bonus points if someone can name the chain of successors to the U35JC be throughout the years?

Not sure if anyone is still reading this thread, but I had a question about my U35JC which has minor issues but which I don't want to replace because I like it, and because I purchased an extra battery for it.

    1. Does anyone know of an 8GB memory brand that is guaranteed to work with this? I purchased a 4GB memory but it didn't work (the system didn't recognize it).

    2. Has anyone been able to play 1080p itunes on this without it overheating?

    3. Will enhanced memory help with temperature?

    Thanks

I am still using my U35J that I bought in September 2010. Last night I tried to close the lid as usual, but it got stuck and made this horrible cracking sound and small bits of black plastic fell on my white desk. The left hinge broke off and now I'm afraid to move it at all. Has anyone tried to fix the hinge before? I don't know what to do now.

I'd get some compressed air and give it a clean out :)

I had the same problem, but my hinge ended up cracking. So I just taped it back up and it opens and closes fine.
