Well yeah I got the usual C90s problems

    1 ) overclocking doesnt work.No gaming mode for me and I have a e6700 (2.66 ghz )processor.I have kingston 2gb and elpida 1gb ram.

    2) My core temps are way too high.(idling at 70 to 75 .C ) . I guess this is just a heat spreader problem or I have trouble with my fans also.I got the readings from speedfan.

Anyway I will try all that I can bfore RMA.

CPU or GPU temp? C90S' GPU runs at 74~84 idle and 90~100+ load

I've had so many problems with this laptop, first I have the wireless problem were it stops working when you go to battery and have to restart to get it working again. My power adapter died, got a new one works great, then the motherboard and gpu die, get it back wireless doesn't work again, and I get hard lock ups, it just basically stops whatever it was doing and freezes. I have to restart to get functionality back. Quite irritating.

And I never could get esata to work... kinda given up on it.

I have no idea whats wrong with it now. Stupid lock ups and wireless problem.

    Usher,

If your gaming mode doesn't work DEFINITELY RMA it! If none of the current bios versions allow you to overclock then the only thing you can do is an RMA. I also had this problem and the only solution was to have Asus replace the motherboard. There was batch of faulty motherboards that would not allow overclocking.

Also be 100% sure to explain to them that gaming mode doesn't work and that the motherboard needs to be replaced. Trust me, Asus customer service is horrible when it comes to the C90S and they NEVER know anything about this laptop! Be sure to have the customer service representative leave a note for the technician working on your computer to check gaming mode! Otherwise they will NOT check it and ship it back to you saying "no problems noted".

Ask me how i know lol. I had to ship my notebook to them TWICE because the first time they didn't even check gaming mode at all. Anyway, now that you've told me about the gaming mode issue I'd definitely RMA it. Just take my advice and be SURE to have the customer service reps make notes of all the issues you are having and to have the technicians check them ALL.

    Good luck.

didnt do any changes with software did you?

Any windows updates (I had a windows update break my sound before on my desktop) The best thing I can think of for now is clean out your sound drivers and download the newest ones and hope for the best.

If that doesnt fix it, you maybe had something break at a hardware level.

    yep
for sound apps asio is the standard
asio4all is a generic driver for all soundcards
    with low latency

As Patrick says, it's for the hotkeys; but the ATK drivers may be (and very probably are) also necessary for other power management functionality. I would strongly recommend keeping them installed.

If you don't care you about hotkey functionality you can remove:

    ATK Hotkey
    ATK OSD
    ATK OSD2

whichever combination of these things you have on your setup.

Turbogear is used to overclock the prossesor. I would leave it I installed.

If you want your fans to work while playing a game, keep it and use OC mode if it does not crash upon you, gaming mode otherwise

With gmail I don't think so because it's a webbased client...

Thunderbird, with the Thunderled extension. No web-based clients, unfortunately. (so yahoo, gmail, hotmail etc. are all ruled out)

Gmail offers POP3 access though, so you can use it with Thunderbird, or Outlook, too.

    Hi,

Yesterday I had 2 BSOD (blue screen...) .
    I wonder why ?
Perhaps my video divers which are 177.98 from LaptopVideo2Go ?
    Before I installed them, I had 177.83.

Does anybody try those 177.98 ?
