    Planning to buy this one by December. :D Hope they introduce dual core CPUs in the G51 though.

    Forge, I thought the BIOS update on the new G series were on the G71. What would a BIOS update on the G51 be?

    Well, the current BIOS version of the G51vx from Best Buy does not support quad cores. Ron Li, myself, and at least one more person have tried.

    If you notice on Xotic, the A1 version comes standard with a Q9000 quad. Ken Lee and GenTech confirmed that there are no differences between the two versions' motherboard.

    Yet it still comes with quad.

    So the assumption me and a lot of people are working with is that it's simply going to be a BIOS update.

    What do you mean by this? isn't a "Duo" a dual core?

    In a way that doesn't make sense. You're paying more for them to keep the CPU they swap out of your laptop.
