I just got my new ASUS last night and the screen is extremely dull. It came without the drivers installed. The computer tech person at my school installed them. He agrees this screen is extremely dull and dark. And this is at maximum brightness....
What could be the problem? I can't believe this....
-
Call up who you ordered it from. If they cant help you call asus and tell them you think you have a defective screen they should help you out.
-
I already put in a call and an e-mail. I am sure they will attend to it. I am just venting because I am so dissappointed. But I hate waiting... I want attention NOW!!!! I hope it is just that some drivers are not properly installed...
Also, the screen is not as spacious as I thought. I measured it... it is definitely 15.4 inches (really 15.2 but that's a tiny difference.) I did not go to a store to look at what 15.4 really looked like. I guess Ihad it built up in my mind. In terms of vertical height it is 1/8 more than my old 600X Thinkpad (8 1/8" vs 8"), which I believe is a 13.3 diagonal. (I just measured it.) But of course it is wider. But I made this choice for reasons of weight and space when traveling on airlines. -

Justitia,
What exactly is wrong? I checked over your system while they were testing it and next to the test model there certainly wasn't a difference - want to drop me a picture of it? -
As soon as I get home I will e-mail you pictures. Hopefully it is some driver issue that I messed up.

um, double check all the rite programs are installed, also make sure ur running it at its native resolution.
There's a program called clearbrite? Trubrite? something like that will make the screen even more brighter...
I've seen the ASUS Z70va in real life, and trust me the screen is AMAZING!, viewing angles are amazing.
Check if ur screen has wide viewing angles.
If it doesn't then you prolly got a defective screen, even though Justin says ur screen looks the same as the demo one.
Good Luck, and you will be Impressed once you get ur screen working fine!!

No, don't screw with that stuff... something's up... I don't check all of them myself, but yours I specifically remember going over because I was surprised it was done when was - and it turned out they were building it days before I thought we even on the Z70va's back in.... and one thing I noticed and the thing that's the most obvious during testing is the screen.... It'd be the first screen that has ever had a problem like that - I'd have one die on customer startup, but I think that had something to do with shipping... so who knows, I guess there's a first time for everything and a dimmly lit screen isn't hard to diagnose, so we'll take care of it. The weird thing is when you turn the brightness up and down, does it just go up to mid way and then doesn't get any brighter? Anyway, I'll check out these pictures...
-
Could be a driver issue, goodluck with that Justitia.
My new screen is fantastic, but obviously not as bright as those glossy screens. Still beautiful.
Once you get it up and running properly try lowering the contrast by ten points so it would be at 90. This screen just has a really high contrast and needs to be adjusted or things can look a bit washed out.
Now my screen is beautiful.
Too bad the battle of the vendors thread was closed Justin. I wrote a really long post and right when I hit post it was closed three minutes prior to me finishing my post by AuroraS.
I had so much to say~!!!!!!!! *cries*
Cheers,

sorry Shampoo... if you want, you can start a new thread if you feel your point really needs to be heard.
-
Hopefully is a driver issue. I'm planning on buying z70va.
Oh by the way, Shampoo. How did you get that screen name? I know there's a character in Ranma 1/2 that has the same name. -
Justitia, maybe you can try adjusting the ATI color settings? -
Sounds like a hardware issue... we had this happen with one of our customers, so we replaced the screen.
-
***Update***
Oh... I now see on the ProPortable web site that they normally do not install drivers. I need to make sure they do that on my machine. Sorry for the confusion. -
i had the same problem a few weeks ago where I received my z70va with a new screen but it was totally dark.
even at max brightness the colors were dark and looked awkward. it certainly wasn't a driver issue because everything was updated.
anyways i sent my laptop back in for RMA and it came back working fine and super bright. however, it still had the ghosting problem that i sent it in for, so i'll probably have to send it back in again when they get new LCD screens. -

Sounds like it could be an ATK driver issue that keeps it from going to max, maybe? Try reinstalling, but I doubt it's that and it's probably a hardware issue.
Oh and for anyone who's worried about getting their screen replaced by a screen with a dead pixel, don't worry because your screen res' is so high that you can't even see the dead pixels really. I have one, but you really, really can't see it unless you put your face up against the screen and look for it and in my case only against a certain shade of grey.
AuroraS, no worries, I can't remember everything I wrote because it was such a long post
Yes, my screen name is from Shampoo in Ranma1/2
She's so hot, yeah yeah she's a cartoon so what?!?!?

Well, I have to say that I really appreciated the time and attention that Porportable gave me in effort to solve this problem.
I did not know how to load the drivers and Sean at Proportable walked me through it. He stayed with me on the phone for 1 1/2 hours as we talked about every possivbe source of the problem as well.
I feel so stupid about this because I am the kind of person who does not move forward unless I know what I am doing and since all these drivers were foreign to me... and I got error messages when I tried to do it on my own... I was just paralyzed. The drivers were not at all complicated to install...in fact it was a snap... but until Sean told me what to do... I was paralyzed. If I had noticed on their site that they did not install drivers unless asked, I would have definitely asked them to do it. I know the limitations of my steep learning curve...
So the screen seemed dramatically improved. I didn't quite trust my judgment because I had been sitting with it for several hours and maybe I just got used to it.
So I toolk it back to my office where I have a brand new Dell LCD for my new Dell desk top (school provided.) When I first got the laptop and put the 2 screens side by side a couple of days ago, the diparity was huge. Not only was the ASUS much darker but the colors were just washed out and dull.
Now, after the drivers were installed and the settings done properly... when I put the two side by side, the ASUS looked much closer to the Dell, the colors no longer seemd washed out though the color palette was different. (I.e., Dell had more yellow on its XP background than ASUS).
I still didn't trust my judgment though.. so I went over to the school library and I had every student show me their laptop so I could compare my screen, LOL, thank goodness the students like me and were willing to indulge. None of them had a particualry outstanding laptop but it was clear, my ASUS was at least as bright as any of those.
Then a colleague suggested that I go onto an art web site that reeproduces famous arts of work. And I looked through paintings I was familiar with. The screens colors were quite vibrant. I had a colleague sit with me so I could get his opinion and over the course of our looking at these paintings and other websites, he became inceasingly impressed with the screen.
So I am happy enough with it that I am not going to return it. Justin and Sean still plan to check it out when I can spare it because of course they want to know for sure.
But I felt incredibly relieved. As it is now, it is a very good screen. It is not great but it is very good. And likely at some point Justin and Sean will swap it out for me, once they get to look at it.
And I just have nothing but praises for Sean and Justin. At no point did they accuse me of anything or try to wiggle out of any responsibility... Their goal was 100% to get to the source of the problem, to figure it out efficiently and do what was necessary to solve it. I never for a moment was concerned that things would not be handled properly. My main concern was the time I would have to spend dealing with it, as I am an extremely overloaded and busy professional. And we were able to resolve it more than satisfactorily within a couple of hours. And without me having to send it in... (Though that would have been a lot easiier for them..but not for me.)
So I would still recommend the ASUS... and of course Proportable...
Now i am going to find an nesemble notebook for a friend, whose computer needs are less stringent than mind. She will be travleing the workd, so an ensemble is necesary..but I feel complete confidence in recommending ASUS. -
Glad to hear your screen issues have been solved.
If you're still skeptical about it, you can test out these colour settings:

Would you add to the end of the title of this thread "Problem Largely Solved!!" And change the frown face to a smile face...
I tried to do it and it wouldn't work for me.
I wouldn't want newcomers to get a misimpression and I want people to see how well Proportable hadled everything .. and of course what resolved most of the issues, which was not a problem with the screen per se.. but my inability to properly load the drivers and select the proper settings.
I will check out the link you recommended.

So a new update on screen comparisons.
This time as I was in my tech's office transferring my data form my old ThinkPad to my new ASUS!, I saw he had a Dell. So I did a side by side comparaison and he and I fiddled with the comparisons.
So it was clear that the Dell got brighter... but as it did the colors also got washed out. When we adjusted the Dell so the colors were not washed out, the Dell was still brighter but the colors did not look as vibrant. We compared with a few screens. I realize that in part that is the higher resolution of the ASUS screen. We also compared by lowering the resolution on the ASUS to the same as the Dell...but it did not really give much useful info.
So if you asked which screen I preferred... I would definitely say the ASUS. But I do wish it were brighter. It is still a little dark. But I am still happy I have it. I took photos of the 2 side by side, which I will post later. -

Humm... well I have always tried to segregate myself from Dell's and Hp's as I always feel like I throw up my mouth a little bit when I hear people bragging about them.... but I can't really tell you without having the same Dell which is brighter and what not....... but you're right... brightness isn't the only factor, and contrast and color reproduction play a huge part.... and certainly resolutions are going to make it more difficult to visually compare....... but lower a Z70va which has a high native res.... down to match whatever that Dell had, is going to make the Dell look better because all screens look best at their native res.
You can send the system back up here now and I can try to give you a little more piece of mind - and if there is a problem, we'll obviously take care of it, but I know being without and the chance that there isn't anything wrong may be playing in your head. So, if we do end up doing that presentation, I could probably bring another Z70 down for you to compare with and if the one is brighter, I could probably even change the two screens right then and there.....
..... the screen is under warranty as long as the notebook is...... but lets try to make sure it's good within the year... something like the brightness of the screen isn't totally covered over the full warranty because the screens do lose a bit over each year..... now if you can't use the screen, that's one thing.. but in two years if your 100% brightness is what 85% used to be, that'd be pretty good.... -- That's really just for everyone's knowledge, not just you. -
You are so lucky you got to fix your problem. My new z70va has dimm screen specially on the right side... I am going to send it in tomorrow.
.... I tried it all. I upgraded the drivers i could.
You can check out my picture comparison here.

Come on justin you cant put everything dell down. I have a dell 20.1 in widescreen that i got for 450 with coupons has the same panel as the apple cinema display. This thing is breautiful sure there are better monitors but is it worth the price when the quality of this one with all the inputs it has and what not.
And HPs tvs are pretty good they are one of the few tvs on the market that can do 1080P through the HDMI port. -
I've hjeard great thingss about it.
I wasn;t sur eif it was worth it because ir will only be somewhat larger than the the 15.4 # screen of ASUS> but it is on sale at Dell right now for $439 w/ a 3 year warranty and free shipping.
I also was looking at their 24" widescreen that is on sale for $879, 3 year warranty and free shipping. That might be worht it as a temporary stop gap until iget the huge wide screen some time down the road for watching DVD's -
Trust me you cant even compare 20.1in widescreen to a 15.4 its those few inches make it massive.

No, you can't put everything they put their name, down... mainly because they put their name on some much stuff that it can't all be bad. The biggest deal is that they don't make anything....... So their quality is always going to be questioned and some may be good, most however will be so-so...... But where your thinking gets funky is when you bring up what you paid for it....... basically, you're saying you got a deal on it - which is true, that's a good price.... but that's doesn't mean it's the best, it just means you got a deal on a decent product, which may be something to be proud of, but your good deal on a monitor doesn't put any air back into the company... -

Justin what other brand laptops do you like? i dont believe asus would be the only brand you have respect for. How about thinkpads or fujistsu.
-
PROPortable Company Representative
I don't have respect for thinkpads..... or at least while IBM still had them..... they pushed their non-changing designs off as a sign of longevity --- they look like just like the laptops of 5 years ago, so they must last a long time...
... Then IBM joined in a contract with Asus after the S5 beat their t41 (i think.. whichever model was the 12") ..... back a year and half ago..... THe idea was to bring color and sleek design to the thinkpad because IBM even admitted they were out of date and anything but sexy... That sorta pissed me off because they their advertising at the same was pushed them as I stated above. That deal all fell through when Lenovo bought them... so things probably aren't changing anytime soon.
Asus does a lot with Fujitsu... mainly on the screen side and tablet side.... but I was never a fan of their laptops. In all honesty I think between companies Asus ODM's for.... Sony, Apple, Sharp, amoung others.... those notebooks all have their own flair that is nice... Sharp's notebooks are thin and Asus builds them..... Asus just knows they wouldn't sell well here in the US..... Sony likes to do a lot of new things which stun the market and Apple has always been the minimalist laptop... but altogether I can't say that I'd pick one of anyone of them over an Asus. This is a majority of my life now and I made that decision more than five years ago and I'm still on that path. I think Asus takes a lot of their original designs and infuses the knowledge of their designs and builds for other companies..... Often they know how certain things affected sales (good and bad) or they realize how something could be done better.... I think it's because of those reasons that Asus can and does make a better system for themselves.
.... Asus has made systems for HP and others which I'd get crucified for mentioning.... the L5 series was VERY similiar to an HP model that was out at the time..... the L5 had two things though that no one else did.. not even the HP... the ACEview IPS screen years before it's time.. and a digital fiber optic audio out.... we still don't see that today.
Umm... I like Fujitsu's little 10" convertable tablet.... funny that Asus' is going to be a lot like it and use the same hinge design, basically... I've "liked" maybe a couple notebooks that other companies have made.. but nothing I'd want to use on an everyday basis. Panasonic has a lot of interesting ideas, but as for the durability of the motherboard - I can't speak for anything but Asus... and I know that Asus' motherboard is or SHOULD be one of the top two or three reasons anything should pick an Asus to being with. -
So, for a bit of an update. I just did a rather complex project that required that I have 6 wordperfect screens open at the same time and lined up so I could compare what was what... It was great! All that real estate....I could easily go form one screen to the next making changes and adjustments as needed, without moving any of the screens. That meant I could keep them properly lined up for comparison purposes through out. It made it soooo much simpler. I have to do this stuff all the time and the pain of going back and forth not being able to keep all screens equally open was...welll a pain. Not with the new screen!
On the troubles front, there is a definite creak on the right palm side, right next to the touch pad. It causes the cursor to move and I have lost a file or two that I had to recover. Or a folder suddenly gets moved and dropped into another folder and I am not even touching the pad but the palm rest has creaked down. I think causing a pressure on the pad.
Plus getting used to this touch pad... what a pain.... that is not ASUS's fault... but I would give anything for a track-point like my IBM. I am sure I am going to develop carpal tunnel syndrome very soon in my right wrist.
Also the pad itself is incredibly sensitive. It also causes folders to move that I don't even see. I am sure I will be using the search procedure to look for stuff that got moved. It's also deleted files that I didn't select. It arbitrarily highlights files that I do not want to look at. But I am not sure how much of this is because it has some special program I need to make adjustments on. I see the program but I have not had time to actually read it yet.. Sigh the steep learning curve. I am also learning how to use XP after using Win98se for 6 years. That's a lot of fun.
The final problem I am having is with the wireless. It is really slow, it loses the signal a lot and it cuts out all together. I do not have any of this problem with my Thinkpad. I am using a Belkin wireless card in a PC slot. I don't know if that makes a difference. Again, some thing I need to check out.
But the creak in the Palm means the laptop is definitely going in to be checked out. the palm rest actually creaks down and in on regular basis. That is not something I can live with at all. I am a little surprised, given the reputation of ASUS's build quality. Between the darker screen and the creaky palm rest.... this is not consistent with that.
But even with these nuisances.... I am still very happy with the basic laptop overall. I checked out others again, just to see what they offer and I don;t think there is any out there that offer a 15.4" non-glare high resolution screen -
PROPortable Company Representative
You need to update the wireless driver and software.... that will eliminate any issue you're having.... updating the router's firmware is always suggested, but I don't know if that is above you... I know having the school try to update their's is impossible... but yours at home should be easy if you can follow instructions.
The synaptics driver for your touchpad is so configurable... that pad is like a little kid trying to impress someone.... it'll do whatever you want, if you just play with the settings.
But, the creak in your palmrest isn't going to change.... it's plastic on plastic and all we can do is say, yep it's there... All the z70's are built the same, and the chassis' all move a bit... some consider that creaking, others don't mention it because they don't know they can.... You can check your screws, but they're all probably going to be tight. Just a note.... when you take the optical drive out of the right side.... the "creak" will be more apparent.... there's simply no structure under the right palmrest.. Now, if you put the 2nd battery in there.. it would tighten up a bit.... but there's nothing you can do about it...... but looking for every little thing that is possibily "wrong" is going to kill you... seriously. I used to be like that and found it was a very unhealthy way to live..... These forums are also unhealthy in a way.... a "creaky palmrest" that one person had very well may be beacuse of loose screws and it could be very loud..... everyone else hears that and any noise that comes from the computer is a "creaky palmrest" and everyone cathes it...... I can tell you certainty, that every system that leaves here, as part of it's testing gets checked for any problem we've every heard or or run into. That includes backlight issues, loose chassis' ...... the works... That may take us a while... but that's why we build our own systems.... something must people who sell these systems can't say.... so these these things actually get checked out.
... I'd be more apt to look at your screen over your palmrest.... the important is certainly in that order..... but I spent a day with a new Z70 last week when you where talking about your brightness problem and compared to my V6va, it is dull...... compared to my old W1.. it's identical... The W1's screen is what's been on the Z70 all this year and that screen has had great reviews in magazines and by consumers for two years now.... Now, place that next to a Z81sp and you have to turn the Z70 down to about 50-60% just to be able to use them next to each other.... There are certainly brighter screens out there... and they are ALL glaretype..... but for a matte display, there is nothing better.... Just thought I'd let you know I tried to study one of the models that came in with the last shipment.... just to see if I could see any difference for you. -

Like Justin said. The touchpad is configurable but the base sttings are actually perfect. If you are having problems with hitting it accidentally when you brush past it you may want to make it less. Creaking palmrest does not trigger the touchpad. I ve had these complaints before and had to check it out personally every time found that its user error. You have to try to learn not to brush past it. I had to do this with my m5n on which the touchpad is level with the palmrest. As for the creak unfortunately you will have to live with it. Thats all it is just a creak not your lappy falling appart. Almost every lappy i have seen has a creek in places you apply pressure. Your old ibm may or may not but its also the same weight for a laptop that dont have half the features.
-
there is a setting in the synaptics drivers. That you can adjust so when you brush the pad it doesnt move the curor. its the palm pressure settings or something like that.

Glad everything's fine and dandy now~!
I have one tip for you unless you've already figured it out and have it the way you want.
I know that no two screens are the same, but you should give this a go.
Try lowering your contrast through Ati color controls by 10 points or so, this does wonders, as the contrast is overpowering on my new screen so I lowered it and everything is great now.
I didn't want to mess with Gamma and brightness settings because these seem to be fine on my screen. It was just that certain colors seemed too "bright" or "washed out" for lack of better words.
An example of this is in Windows Explorer, the file browser. If you select Details as an option in the View menu normally in the right pane of the window file names are displayed against a grey background while the file type, size, etc is against a white background. On my Z70Va with my old screen and new screen you could not distinguish between the light grey background and the white background. So I turned down the contrast until it was visible, but not too much to effect screen contrast and brightness.
This is also visible in Hotmail, as new messages are highlighted in yellow, but on my Z70Va it wasn't visible, so I turned down the contrast to fix this.
Now colors seem more rich and saturated, very comparable to my CRT, but brighter.
I know I complained about my CRT not displaying colors correctly and seemed washed out compared to my laptop, but stupid somebody messed with my color settings on my desktop, so I fixed them and recalibrated, now everything's okay there too.
So yeah, try lowering your contrast.
Cheers,
MIke -
Well, if the creak in the right palmrest is normal... I won't worry about it... It is a little irritating and I would think ASUS could have figured out something to solve that... But I guess I was more worried that it implied that the system was somehow "loose" but now that you say it's normal... I won't worry about it.
I did find out about the adjustments to the touch pad on my own...And I made some adjustments. But it was just a little while ago so I don't know how well yet it works for me... And yeah, I realize I am going to have to learn to get used to it.
But my right arm hurts... seriously... and my wrist is sore from this touch pad. Does anyone else have that complaint form these touch pads? I do not like them... at least not yet... I don/t understand how they took over from the track point.
And the palmrest... it is so big. The laptotp cuts into my forearm. But all the laptops are like that... so it must be considered good design... but I am having a hard time adjusting...
I also think that, yes I had to do something about the software for the wireless. I did some stuff tonight that seems to make a difference at home... I will have to see.. I am too tired right now to explain it but it was mostly configuring a profile for my wireless connection. The school problem maybe just the school problem. I heard that a number of people were having problems with the wireless over the last week... so it may have nothing to do with the laptop at all.
I am sure bit by bit, I will slowly figure things out... I am not only dealing with the new laptop, a new operating system (jumping from Win98SE) ... but virtually every program I use, now has a new edition or version which I am installing for the first time and of course on the new laptop, and each program causes some kind of hang-up or something different.
I am a little in overwhelm because I have SO many different things to contend with at the same time... not to mention a number of other new digital products as well. (cell phone, blue tooth headset.. new home phone system... Mp3 player, etc. etc. etc. and software for all of those....)
So I just want to vent and give one example that I lost 2 hours on tonight and as a result missed my gym workout this evening, which is difficult enough for me to schedule.
I use Documents to Go... a great program... A stripped down version came for free with my new Palm last year. I bought the full blown one back then. It had a number of glitches... they had an upgrade that solved most, but only as an online download .. But the company is well-organized. You just click on to their site and they have all your records and your software and everything and you can always redownload everything from on-line, even if you bought the CD (which I always do.)...
So they just came out with a seriously upgraded version a few weeks ago. I decided to buy it tonight for the new lappy. I downloaded it and I couldn't open it. So I decided to go back to the old one b/c I needed it for the gym this evening. I figured when the new CD comes in, that will solve it, I'll have manual, which is not available on download.... Their tech support, which is excellent, is only by e-mail.
But now I couldn't get the old one anymore this evening because Docs to Go registers that I paid for the new one and that's the only one it will let me download now... So I only have the crappy one on CD and it keeps causing the Palm to crash (one of the glitches.)
So I try to figure out what to do. Windows says it doesn't recognize the extension of the download and can't open it... it suggests I go to this website to figure out what program to open it with. I go, no luck... this goes on and on.
I decide I will try downloading the new version again... maybe something happend in the download. I go to the page..
and guess what!!!!
The default download is for the MAC version... you have to scroll down for the Windows version.
Who ever heard of that!!!Of course Windows didn't recognize the extension... neither did I as I have never used an Apple anything. I was rushing to get to the gym earlier..so I didn't notice it.
2 hours!!!! And in the meantime, I wiped out all my Docs to Go data on my Palm b/c of trying to solve this... and the gym closed .. and it is going to take me a couple of hours to reconstruct the lost data.
So I know everyone has stories like this when you are loading up a new computer... but I am loading up 2 of them (my desktop at school -- which is a Dell BTW) and the phones etc.... And with new versions of about every program I use.... on an operating system I have never used before...
Grrrr.
There were moments I just wanted to go back to my old ThinkPad...but that quickly passed as I got more used to my great new laptop and all of its advantages.. I love it more with every day...And the screen seems to look better every day...
By the way. the Windows verison of Docs to Go works perfectly and easily... -
PROPortable Company Representative
....well I think we can all see why your wrists hurt...
Seriously though, you're coming from those dumb, prehistoric little keyboard joysticks that the thinkpads never got rid of when better technology came around... getting used to the touchpad from that is going to take a while, but it's just you... I guarentee after a month of use, you'll love it. -
Justin is right. I always prefered the pointing stick. but thats because all the older touch pads were horrible. but once you get used to a track pad you will never go back. not to mention you can configure the pad to go back and forward in the brower. And so many options which i wont go into. but its great to have.
-
-
Are you comparing a MX518 to a track pad? thats not even the same league. I wonder does anyone able to actually game on a trackpad?
-
Well, you guys were all right. It is just a day later... I have been working on my laptop all day. (I restored my lost Palm data as it was backed up on my old laptop
)
I am getting used to the touch screen that my wrists are starting to stop hurting. I am figuring out the angle to keep my hands so I don't kill my forearms...
I'm even not thinking about the touchpad any more except when suddenly something disappears... thank god for "undo" But I swear, it sometimes does things without my touching it...at all...!!!! But the number of "mysterious events" is decreasing rapidly.
In the meantime, I am noticing, I am not going back to my old laptop at all. In the first week, I was getting such a headache and stress from the new one that I would just leave and go back to my old one...even though the screen back light is dead and I have a 10 year old CRT monitor hooked up to the back.
But now, I don't even want to go near the old one unless I have to.
I am still annoyed by the palm rest creak... it seems so unnecessary and it constantly makes you feel like the build quality is not good... but I know that is not true. And Geared to play's point that my old IBM may not have had any creaks (which it did not... at all...) but it didn't have half the stuff that my new ASUS z70va has is an extremely valid point. To make it as light weight as it is... and it is incredibly light weight... they did not understate the weight at all...it has so much more...
So I keep on falling in love with my new lappy everyday...
But the touch pad just moved my browser back three pages... without me doing anything... I swear!!! and I almost lost this wonderful post....Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Yeup the palm rest creak is annoying as hell as my left palm rest is SOLID.
I've also compared my system to 2 other Z70Va's and those were solid.
Oh well I'll get it fixed somehow.
As for the touchpad, TIT'S AMAZING~!!!!
I love my touchpad, I prefer using my touchpad over a mouse on my laptop.
I wish I had a touchpad for my desktop. Really.
Anyhoo' I'm glad to hear you're falling in love with your laptop, as it is a sexy little thing, well not little, but you know what I mean.
Don't you think it's better looking in person than over pictures Justitia?
I love my baby. She just needs some work done to her.
Oh yeah, which way is your sticker positioned? The one on the lid. -
So more update.... well you guys are right again... I am starting to LOVE my touchpad...
I am beginning to figure out the ways to use it and as I am getting better at it, the more I appreciate it...and I see that indeed it is far better than the trackpoint...
I must be getting old... having this much problem adjusting to change... how embarrassing ....
So, I am still annoyed with the creaky palmrest. Justin, given that Shampoo has met some z70va's without the creaky palmrest.. do you think it might have to do with ASUS opening some z70v's and sticking in the Bluetooth to make it a va? (Just a random thought...)
And what is this obsession with the label on the cover? I've seen this query on another thread... It's got to be upside down one way or another... Mine is upside down when the lid is open....
Justin..when you put it together, do you guys put the label on? or does it come with the label already affixed? Is there supposed to be some significance as to which way the label is... like, if it's upside down, I will know that Paul is dead? (2 stars to those who know the reference...unless it is part of everyday lore and I am too old to know that....)
My new ASUS z70va -- Screen was dull... but Problem Largely Solved!!
