By the way, is it possible to implement a simple on and off switch for this backlit keyboard mod? Or must it be a touch sensor?

I am planning to purchase the backlit keboard from ebay. Same keyboard in what they use in the G73 model. Plan is to use the mini pci-e available slot for source of power for the led. Hopefully all goes well. In terms of how to turn it off and on...I have yet to contemplate. Perhaps a simple small circular button in place of the antenne proves quite effective and much more OEM.

    Hi,

Ive tried to get the parts you wrote down, Turbogear. The most important parts are already ordered @ HBE-Parts. As dumb as it seems Ive got
hard times to get the right type capacitor and resistor. Although
primary parameters and package sizes were given I dont know
    which ones are right.

I have no clue what capacitors voltage and resistors power rating
    is needed.

Has anybody Farnell part numbers or some other info that will help?

    Thx

Inspired by this thread, i've ordered keyboard for my Asus K53. As by default, there was no backlight keyboard in this model, so i've ordered keyboard for K50, which is visually same as mine, but it does have other pinouts in key lines, so it wont work, it was doing just like your, one key was working like another, and some did not work.
I've took off light foil from new and put it into my old keyboard, and then, all keys, one by one took from one to another keyboard. At this moment im waiting for touch sensor controller to get it working.

All fits fine, when i connect +5V it light very well and looks nice :) When ill have it done, ill post all pictures from my modification.
