New G51J : Core i7 refresh?

Because I already have a dell. Who want's another dell?
Actually, I have nothing against dell. I was honestly thinking about it. I almost ordered the AW M15x too.

If I configure the dell the same way I did with the Asus, it comes out to almost $1900 because of tax. If that was the case, I'd go back with the Sager for about $100 more. I've also read that Nvidia is better than ATI.
When Dells get old, they start to fall apart. I've had mine since 2005. The case is cracked, it's missing screws, and it overheats too.

 

I also have to have 10 key. important for me.

 

Justin can you confirm that it have the same paint lid as G51VX like in the gallery pictures?

 

I'm hoping it doesn't and it just a plain gloss black lid.

 

It is expected to look like the G51VX.

I don't know why they took it down. Can't remember the exact price. My invoice only show the upgrade price. I remember it was less than the g51vx-a1. Somewhere around $1450s

You get the i7 processor and ddr3 ram. I thought it was worth it for me since my order had not shipped out. Was it necessary for me to do? Probably not. These past few weeks, I learned that there are 2 main ways to buy a computer. 1. Buy the newest, latest technology available. or 2. Buy yesterday's technology at a discount.

Only 1 week after I ordered the G51vx-a1, Intel released the I7 calpella platform. I felt that the money I invested towards a computer should get the newest, latest technology available.

I felt bad enough canceling my original order. Let alone I cancelled my second order for the Asus, the owner of the store I ordered from told me I had to what works for me. Therefore, I switched my order to the G51j.

 

Soviet was generous enough to send me some cash for my...special needs. I figured I'd pass the wealth on to you so you could buy FRAPs and some pink socks..here ya go:

I already have 100% of the monopoly money needed to buy it so all u have to do is chip in the rest, which if my calculations are correct, leaves 100% of the actual money... And one rep I coulda gotten from joker... But whatever, were u guys kidding about soviet actually helping u out?

 

Fraps is $37. You can do dog walking, wash some cars, mow some lawns, collect cans, skip a few meals, etc. It will be much faster than hoping that someone will just give you the money.

So it seems from Justin's post on xoticpc forums that the Asus G50j will be the same as the G50vx, except for the i7 cpu, ddr3 ram and of course windows 7.

They are starting preorders on the 10/18.

I wonder if your order will be cancelled confuzshuz? I think the G50j listing was an error.

 

I hope not, in case price increases. Besides, if it was cancelled and I got my money back I might use it for something else and not end up buying a computer. It's better off I don't have that money on hand. I'm a little bipolar when it comes to money. I also have a ton of hobbies to fund.
