I don't know, that sounds like a likely disk problem to me.

Well, it wouldn't matter if the N82 were available!
-

Its not really a retailer site, more like NBR Marketplace
For the news, look for hikari85 post, one of the seller, http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1310706&view=findpost&p=32480150
Her sales thread, http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=931928&hl=a42jr -
ooh, very nice. Thanks~

By the way, this Italian article from March 6 says it'll have an 8-cell after all:
http://notebookitalia.it/asus-n82-nvidia-geforce-gt335m-e-usb-3-0-7825 -
i think that was the initial speculation of everyone but after seeing pictures of the laptop and the actual battery itself, i would like to believe that it is a 6-cell and not an 8, or they could have squished in 8 cells in the very tiny battery pack.
though 6 would not seem so bad as long as it can reach 4 hours with casual use (and not power-saving use) -
We'll see next week, as the seller will confirm whether its 6-cell or 8-cell when stocks arrived.
-
In any case, if the laptop is seen with a 6 cell configuration, then there will likely be no 8 cell configuration. They'd have to redesign the power system to accommodate that, which I doubt they would. -
While I have no concrete proof, something tells me that the N82 will come with a 6-cell. I just don't see them releasing an 8-cell for a 14 inch laptop.
-
lol... half my laptop screen just popped right off the main body (I've got an Inspiron 9400 from 2006).
I need this or the Acer Timeline 3820 to come out SOON... >_< -
Already too late for me. I'm soon to be an Envy 15 owner.
-
Unfortunately ASUS has me hooked because I could be in any one of a very large number of countries in the next few years, so that global warranty is necessary... but if you're listening, please, please hurry up! You're losing customers by the day!

Acer is announcing prices at last week of march for their new timeline series. i'm already sold on their 1830T or 3820T. maybe if ASUS can give us news very soon...
-
Agreed...Asus better hurry up!
-
someone know the weight of this laptop ? I didn't find it anywhere. I know the N81 was heavy (5.5 lbs, more than all 14in laptop I had before)
-
Around 5.2 lbs or 2.35 kg
-
5.07 lbs from their earlier press release.
-
Well, from chinese website, its 2.35kg measured...

So has the N82 been released in Asia then?
-
Yup, in Malaysia, i5 520M version for MYR 3999 or around US$1200
Stocks coming next week according to one seller I asked.
There's some links to the sales thread in my previous post recently. -
In this case, N82 will be lighter than N81, that's a good thing !
-
And when do we get this sucker here? Any US dealers have them for pre-order yet? -
I would guess $900-1000 range.
-
I've always expected around $1000. I guess we'll see.
-
vinceboiii Animals are friends, not food.
whats the battery life on it?
-
I was originally thinking about a N61, but the battery life is a big minus for me. -
Is it confirmed that the US release of the N82 will have the Nvidia gpu in it?
-
-
-
why the heck does some individual retailer in Malaysia have stock coming in but none of the retailers here (xoticpc, gentech, etc) will give us any details like ETA and price?
-
I think that's just how it is with ASUS. I don't think they bother to control how their stuff comes out on the market, so you'd expect the stuff to come out in Asia first because that's where everything is made.
-
I don't see it in Chinese ASUS home. Usually Chinese has the most model out of every country,
-
Perhaps that Malaysian seller bought up the first shipment, though.

Yay

-
Let's see if that variant makes it to the US....
-
-
That article specifically says US model, but still. No. Date.
-
^^Again 1366x768 resolution

I know, but it wouldn't be the first time ASUS pulled a switch on us in the US.
I present to the court Exhibit 1-A: the ASUS G51JX with an i5 CPU. It was sold for a short time in the US, but then ASUS pulled it (whereas it was still sold internationally).
Exhibit 2-A: the HP Envy 15 with an i7-620 CPU. It too was sold for a short time in the US, but is no longer available.

The Envy, I'm not sure. -
-
I should have specified an i5-520M. They used to sell the G51 with that i5 but not anymore.
The i5-430M is closer to an i3 in terms of abilities. I would rather get the i3 and save a few bucks than an i5-430M. Of course, I would rather get the i5-520M or 540M over the i3.

Found a few websites that have listed the lower speced N82 in Europe and the price seems to be around 800 euros.

Killer laptop for sure. I just want to know the battery life, and the heat, as those are the two things that stopped me from getting a Lenovo Y460
