How about your temperature while running the game? Use a temperature monitoring software and let it run in the background while playing the game.
Alt+Tab switch back to the desktop to check.

@Jagge11 What kind of stutter/lag? That could be a network issue rather then the computer itself. When I run through smokes or see multiple smokes, my FPS drops, and thats something to do with csgo's poor optimizations... to ensure its a FPS drop and not a network lag, you should type in console net_graph 1 to view your fps!

@pantapanta1 Hey I purchased the Intel ac7260 adapter for about 30 bucks... I know it is a little more than your budget (15 pounds being about $23) but trust me, this intel wifi card is WORTH IT for our laptop. Its a major upgrade for me at least, as I have not experienced ANY drops with the signal. The additional $7 (or 4.5 pounds) will be worth it! I purchased mine through Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Intel-7260-HM...8&qid=1420262423&sr=8-1&keywords=intel+ac7260

Has anyone tried using VGA drivers other than the ones that are provided by ASUS? I want to try and update the intel and nvidia (tried the nvidia, had some issus before) but can't seem to find any recent proper/good drivers for these..

What driver set did you try and what issues did you have? Did you install over the originals?

Hello flaaamez, it is not recommended to install drivers on your notebook that is not directly from out support website as our drivers are tweaked specifically for the different models to ensure stability and compatibility on your notebook. Installing updates from Intel and Nvidia may cause your notebook to blue screen and possible operational issues.

If you have any further questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to email us at [email protected]. We will be more than happy to assist you. Thank you for choosing ASUS products and services.

    Thank you,

By the way, Nvidia wouldn't add support for ASUS GPUs without Taiwan HQ PM's permission.
So basically there's no official support and use it at your own risks type of situation, but it is somewhat supported via Nvidia under the table.

Check your device manager to verify its existence.
Do you see any device with yellow exclamation?

Weird, you should be able to since the software features are pretty similar.
Have you downloaded the latest version of WiFi + BT drivers from Intel's support site?

Okay, that means the update only applied to certain models, or just the software itself.
Extract BT driver package if you can.
Remove BT driver, then use Browse in Device Manager to install driver only.
Use Windows' built-in BT interface and verify.

Is there a special trick to removing the back cover? I'm trying to replace the dvd with a ssd+caddy, and I've removed every screw that I can find on the back, but I can't get the cover off.

You only need to remove 1 screw to access the Dvd Bay, and 1 screw to access to the ram and the hdd. They covered with an rubber, they both at the mid on the back

I was wondering if I can replace the Wifi Atheros card with any other PCI-e wifi card that's out there!
I know a few of you managed to change it to Intel 7260 but I was wondering if somebody else put in something else with success. I have heard about the wifi whitelist that some manufacturers use but I just cannot get more info on N56JR or even if Asus is one of those who restrict people when it comes to wifi. Does anyone has more info regarding Asus whitelist or maybe this model specifically?

Pretty sure this model has no wifi limits. Actually pretty sure that most asus models has no limits.

I have an intel 6200 wifi card in mine (to get rid of the included atheros trash).

I am having this laptop for 8 months. I know have a problem with the battery. The battery meter has lost its mind. It shows 78 percent 1 hour remaining and the other minute is showing 77 percent 1 hour and 30 minutes remaining and such. Finally when it gets to 20% it is just turning off without any warning. Also i noticed that it wont charge up to 100%. Do i need another battery or a battery calibration? I never let my battery discharge fully and i can say i treat it very well... Any solutions?

You can go through a single calibration, sure. Chances are that you will need to have the battery replaced, however.

Looks like your battery is defective.
If it's within one-year of your purchase you can always claim warranty with ASUS directly. You will also need to provide proof of purchase if the product hasn't been registered yet.

Hi everyone, I have owned and enjoyed this great laptop for a couple of years and now that its getting slightly long in the tooth I was wondering if its possible to upgrade the GPU, do any of you know if its MXM? And if so which standard it is?

This model uses a surface mounted 760M, not the MXM module, unfortunately.
