All resselers here in europe have asus w3v in stock.
And the Pentium-M 760 2.0 Ghz is already available here.
so i dont understand why you(american customers) make pre order for this laptop.
In all computer shops here in europe we can see him exposed.
And i dont understand how is it possible that nobody in us have it in stock, ho my god that so lame for asus.
You guys should stop pre order computer from ridiculous scammer seller like pro portable how give false picture of the laptop and false eta just to make a lot of pre order.
You pre order laptops and wait 3 month for, and the eta date always change.
Come on that it not serious.
You are still in pre order and everybody here can just go to the corner computer shop and buy it loooool
That is not professional.

Guys, remember that european putz comment I made?
Yeah -- this guy right here hit it on the nose, didn't he? Your blanket comments against my "ridiculous" company and what you are obviously characterizing our customers as .... which would be stupid americans (because they are buying into it)... This ranks right up there with camera phone shots of how horrible the W3's screen is.....
Buddy .... what's your deal? I don't care who you are, but your comments don't hold water when you say stuff like that. Especially in your first post and on the first day you've been registered for this forum.
I do have a great idea... everyone who pre-ordered a W3 with us, or anyone else...... go to Europe and pick one up on the local street corner.... .I'll even take care of airfare.
Thanks,
Justin

You did 2 mistakes about the w3v
1) you give falses eta
2) you put falses photoshoped pictures of the laptop and that is scamming.
That is too much mistakes for a serious resseller. -

ok wait..... you have the 2.0 and we're getting the 1.8 (not the 1.7)... and that means the pictures are photoshoped?

We're not "selling" anything buddy...... the pre-order list is a list of potential orders........ things that both sides can cancel out of..... but it'll give the potential customers a number and a place in line for the first units into the states.........
who cares if you have a 2.0 and we have the 1.8's..... you're paying for the 2.0's and most americans think it's too much of an increase in price and barely an increase in performance.
Why don't you just start to flip out like the we've seen before and just go crazy.......
Thanks,
Justin

I want to now if your customers will receive the Pentium-M 750 w3v before we have the Pentium-M 75000000 lollllllll
because some of your customers must be tired with your eta changes.
So next time dont sell what you dont have or dont now.
because you are selling wind now.
And i dont think asus agree that you use photoshoped pictures of the w3v.
You just a layer and a scammer, come on i'm not one of your customers loll

Buddy, WTF, seriously.
The pictures on our site are ASUS' pictures, supposedly of the north american model. On almost every laptop Asus has made in the last five years..... their has been color and material variations between countries.... So I don't care what you saw...... and I don't care what we get. Asus US approved the use of the pictures that we're using and thats all that matters. If something changes on them, it's at the fault of Asus... but it's not like they are made up shots or something.
The ETA is just that... and estimate.... we never make up estimates, Asus does. I can make an ETA of something that doesn't exist and say well.. the ETA is the year 2025..... and if thats based on information that puts it at that time NOW, then thats what it is. When 2025 comes and we don't have it, I'm sure there would be changing ETA's along the way.
I don't care what you have where ever you are....... some countries are getting 1.7 ghz and 100gb / 4200rpm drives....... you can have 2.1's for all we care.. because thats not what we're getting.
First someone tries to say the W3's screen sucks and "proves" it with a shot from a camera phone (first few posts on the forum)....... then some punk wants to try to say I took his money and didn't deliver a product (first couple posts)...... now you're telling people I'm "scamming" them.... The other two guys stopped posting......
Do you seriously want to be the next person booted out of the forum?
Thanks,
Justin

Of course its a beautifull laptop.
Only justin think that this laptop need photoshop to look great.
For me without photoshop the w3v is already a beautifull lappy.
But why he photoshoped it? thats the question
Its so lame -
Don't worry. Once the W3V makes it here, all these "people" (or this one person masquarading as multiple people) who climbed out from under their rocks will climb back down to their cold, wet unhappy place. Hopefully never to be heard from again!

Oh you moron.......
The pictures on our site are what people are basing their pre-orders on..... period. I posted an ACTUAL picture of a W3 demo which we *hope* is how the unit turns out...... but we have no promises as Asus can't get confirmation of it........ However, when people are talking (as we do here in the forum)..... people want to know why I have said that I'd like to see the w3 come in just like the demo did.... however, I made it very clear that there is NO sign that we're getting that model. If there was..... those pictures would be on our pre-order page in a second, becasue it's SO much hotter than what we're probably getting and it would sell much better.... but tell me how the heck it's photoshoped...
Thanks,
Justin

of course they're photoshopped... how else could he put those "PROportable" logos on the screen?

One satisfied customer will tell it to one friend.
One dissatisfied customer will tell it to 100 friends.
Think about that justin, because with your photoshoped w3v and ridiculous eta delay you gonna make a lot of dissatisfied customers. -

He's just a bored Jackass...It's fine to respond to his attacks and set him straight...but don't get all bothered by him...at this point everyone knows he's uninformed and acting immature. His last few posts are clear "bait" to get you all hot and bothered...we know what's what.
Euro-tech, unless you can handle yourself better...and approach things properly so that everyone can benefit from what you're saying...then don't bother posting...If you took the time to ask about those pics, instead of just attack and accuse, then you'd understand what they are and why they're there. If you can't be a rational, productive member of the forum and handle yourself accordingly, then go hang out somewhere else...where others might appreciate your behavior. [!]

No Kidding. This is one of the few threads that was useful before the "hijacking". Meijern thanks for the pictures, observations and benchmarks.
BTW, could you snap a pic of the Global warranty documentation included with your notebook? Or is the global warranty card I see in your picture just a registration card?

This is obviously the same person as before. The "ho my god" thing gives that away. So let's just leave it alone and maybe the troll will go back under his bridge until he comes up with a new user name.

You now know what was meant, so why don't you drop the issue? The majority of the people in here know exactly what's going on and where Justin stands on the issue. Fuzion also knew that nothing was 100% confirmed regarding the W3V's appearance when he wrote that. Just accept the new facts you have and move on.
Also, I don't know why anyone would want to help this guy out...If you start acting respectfully then we'll treat you respectfully in return. [8D] -

ARE YOU SERIOUS, with the lighter grey touchpad surrounds? THAT's HORRIBLE, honestly the worst news EVER!!! I would gladly trade the price drop for the matching dark grey touchpad look. I just can't believe it. I'm actually shocked... [:0]...I thought the dark grey was the worst case, which wouldn't have been bad at all, and the V6 look the best case...this really, really sucks. Lets just hope it's a mistake.
If It isn't, will there be any way to get our hands on the dark grey components to insert?

John Ratsey Moderately inquisitive Super Moderator
I have just taken delivery of a UK model W3A (ie with the Intel integrated graphics) and can comment on / clarify a few points.
1. The power switch is the blue light on the right side of the display.
2. I put my W3A on my digital kitchen scales and observed the following:
(a) Basic unit without battery or optical drive = 1915 grammes.
(b) Optical drive = 210 grammes
(c) 8-cell battery = 450 grammes
Hence the whole unit with 8-cell battery is over 2.5kg.
For comparison, my Sony S2 weighed in at 1920 grammes.
The display seems to be brighter, at maximum brightness, than the Sony S2.
Overall, the unit is a bit bigger and heavier than I expected (I was wanting the larger display but not the extra weight). I will comment further on other aspects when I have had more time to get better acquainted with the W3.
