This is a known issue Dark Dove, they were working on it Friday and hoped to have it resolved that day or by today (Monday). In some cases it was already resolved but it sounds like they haven't fixed it 100% yet. Keep trying, I had the same problem until Friday.

What do I do for now then? Should I call my bank to sort things out or is there another number that I can call?
-
pop is the invoice you need to send right?
I faxed mine last week, how long does it take for your status to change? -
Yes. POP (= proof of purchase) is your invoice.
In my experience, I faxed mine twice (Feb 19 and Feb 29) and e-mailed it Feb 3, but my status still does not indicate that it has been validated yet... -

i suspect this is a scam, maybe they will not give all of us the window vista express upgrade, i mean if you are lucky enough you will get one... i'm so piss off

Hello All...
I received this e-mail today from the folks at Moduslink:
Dear Customer,
--------
Thank you for your interest in the Upgrade Redemption Program.
The Upgrade Software should begin shipping late January 2007. You will receive your Vista/Office software within 4-6 weeks from release date.
Regards,
The Upgrade Redemption Center
The Upgrade Software will ship within approximately
-------
As you can see, the software will ship in approximately ?????
BTW, the status of my upgrade request says 'POP/COA validated' so I think you need to see this before you can relax...
JWB-VT -
I emailed my POP to them on 1/30 and it was validated on 2/1.
If you have an electronic version of your invoice/packing slip, convert it to .pdf (get a free program from download.com if you don't have one) and try sending it that way. I added a page to the .pdf that had my name, address, and order number on it. If they printed the document, they had both pages. I also put my order number in the subject line of the email, and included my name, address, and order number in the body of the email.
I suggest taking every measure to ensure they receive a document that they can easily read and match to your order. Faxes often arrive distorted and they might be having difficulty reading it and/or matching it to you. -
my order status changed!!!
Order Status : POP/COA validated
Shipping Date :
Carrier : Standard

cool!! Now i can relax and waiting for my vista!! -
-
Anyone know how long it takes for the shipping date to be determined? -
me too i'm from australia so i decided to email to singapore one. Anyway i think it need to take anotehr 4-6weeks for them to ship... -
-
I think I mentioned this before but here's my plan:
If Moduslink (the company Microsoft outsourced all Vista upgrades to except for Dell's) doesn't respond to my repeated E-mails in the next day or two, I'm going to call their corporate headquarters directly and ask to speak with their "executive customer service staff" which is a little known group in most large companies. They're known to be the ones who can actually do something about an individual case and when they say they'll call you back... they do. The Consumerist had a cool write-up on this.

Which version of Vista is best for A8Js? 64bit or 32?
Thank you -
They answered the phone, and the guy could not talk english, so i waited 5 mins for english guy to come on the phone.
And to my shock, it wasnt Moduslink OR microsoft. It was a Heating, Gas and Electricity Company in Europe! -
I went with 64bit but don't expect 100% smooth operation for some months. -
Sorry for that, I need to get femiliar with 64-32bit thing
Thank you -
It *IS* the way of the future, our processors are made for 64 bit and anything that runs in 64bit is much quicker and efficient. The downside is not many programs (at all) take advantage of it yet - but rest assured *eventually* they will.
So why 64 bit? I suppose to get ahead of the curve and be cutting edge is all. I'm perfectly happy with XP and switching for the sake of switching doesn't interest me much ---- but switching for the sake of vastly improved performance even if it's a year or two down the road, that interests me. -
Read this article about 64-Bit Windows Vista from Win Supersite
http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/winvista_ff_x64.asp
This explains it very well and has convinced me that my decision to get 32-Bit was a good one. The article states that for a nominal fee Microsoft will send you the 64-Bit version of Vista. I'm thinking of maybe waiting for the first service pack before switching to 64-bit -- if I can wait that long and still have MS send me a copy of 64-bit for the nominal fee that is. -
-
I believe you can order the disk for the "nominal fee" (probably around $10)... but you still have to use the serial you received with your 32bit version. Since you only have one serial, you can only run one version at a time. -
I highly doubt any nominal fee from Microsoft especially when it pertains to an operating system. I don't remember ever seeing Microsoft sell something for $10
Also I think that article needs to distinguish between fact and fiction. Currently there is *no* nominal fee upgrade, and if you continue to the end of the article he is merely HOPING for this.
-
Hello All...
The 'Nominal Fee' offer from Microsoft allows you to purchase, for $9.95 the Windows Vista 64-bit MEDIA. What this means is that MS will ship you a DVD or CDs with the 64-Bit version of whichever Vista flavour you choose for @ $10.00 + SH. That is all. In fact, I'm not even sure that once you've installed a 32-bit copy of the OS that you can change to 64-bit using the same Product Key.

does anyone know if the upgrade site takes check card instead of credit card?
-
And what are the eligibility requirements? Purchase of a full version 32-bit? I ask this because I wonder if those of us who opt for 64-bit upgrades via this express upgrade program can get Ultimate 64-bit for $10 + SH? -
So, to answer your last question, this program is not an upgrade, just a way to get the 64bit version of whichever flavour of Vista you already own...

I finally got a POP validated email.....
The FREE Upgrade Software should begin shipping late February 2007. You will
receive your Vista/Office software within 4-6 weeks from release date.
thats too long, but at the same time, it should give time for drivers and stuff to work properly. -
You can also do the $10 "Alternate Media" offer with Microsoft to go from 64 bit to 32 bit. Simply request the OS on CD (since it is supplied on DVD) and you can go 64-->32.
-
I agree this is Bull S#%T how do they call this a express upgrade when they ship it out four to six week from release date?
-
Mine sais:
Order Status : Order awaiting shipment
Shipping Date : March 30 2007
Carrier : Standard
so its going to be awhile haha -
-
No, i live in canada.
-
Has anyone tried to cancel the order??
Is there a procedure for that?? -
Interestingly, I received an e-mail from "[email protected]" stating that they received my POP and that they would e-mail me after the validation process is complete... It's certainly considerate of them to let me know this (finally), but it's still quite frustrating how drawn out the process has been! -
cause i didn't receive any reply but my status just changed to POP/COA validated -
Dear J Lama,
Thank you for submitting your order to upgrade your Microsoft® product.
Your validation is now complete and we will be processing your order. You
should receive an email confirmation when your order is shipped. You may check
the status of your order at the following web address:

when do they actually start shipping it to you? My COA and POP got validated, does anyone know the time frame as to when I'll actually get my vista?
-
I just received another e-mail (this time from MSTUPVISTANA), which I think simply acknowledges receipt of my POP via e-mail, but my status remains "COA validated" only. The e-mail I received two days ago acknowledged receipt of my POP via fax. I had faxed them Jan19 and 29, and e-mailed them Feb3.
I wonder why it is taking so long for them to validate my POP...? -
I am going to get my express upgrade to Vista for my A8Js laptop soon. Looks like I'll have to go with Vista Business since I am running XP Pro on this laptop.
I've heard that the whole 64 bit thing won't get going for at least another year or likely two years. Am I better going with 32 bit Vista with this laptop and then switch to 64 bit later? I've heard that it will be easy to switch from 32 to 64 bit with the retail version of Vista for a nominal fee but will this also be easy for an OEM (express upgrade) version?
cheers -
I just got an email saying this:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for your interest in the Upgrade Redemption Program.
Our systems indicate the following updates to your contact information.
<<insert text>>

The Upgrade Redemption Center
What the heck does that mean?I'm really worried now.

Hi All - Vista Waiting Members...
Dark Dove - I got the same email yesterday (sunday!) but instead it ws ,<INSERT TEXT>. I replied to them and just got another email the proper one saying that they are missing my POP! Although sent it over 3 times. But now I have sent it by fax also and STATUS CHANGED!!! So fax might have done the trick.
Anyway My status now from COA Validated has changed to POP validated.
The COA not mentioned anywhere anymore! is this correct?
To tell you the truth i am not sure if it me but 2 weeks ago the website was saying that my order was confirmed!
Then I resent them my POP and Order confrimation in case they had forgotten me.
So 2 days later the Web statues changed to COA Vaidated!
Now after resending for a 3rd time my POP the status Changed to POP Validated. But COA validated is not mentioned anywhere anymore?
I am getting Confused.... and still waiting
Georgios -
I haven't been upgraded to POP approved yet either, just COA and it's been over a week.
My question though is about Vista - I installed a month trial on my A8Js and the CPU usage NEVER seems to drop below 40%. Even just sitting idle the usage is constantly bouncing between 40-80% on BOTH cores. -
However, appended to the end of the message was the e-mail I sent to them with my POP attached. I assumed that they were acknowledging receipt of the POP via e-mail... but my status remains "COA validated"
