Wow, I'm really excited that it's 1280x800. In my opinion, that's much better than 1280x768. I know it doesn't sound like a big difference, but I'll gladly take a little bit of extra screen real estate! It just means that much less scrolling for me. ;)

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to cause offense. I was just confused how this guy could have procured some of the computers earlier than normal. I was trying to figure out the process which Asus uses to distribute its computers.

i dont know what you are trying to imply milestonepc.com, but if you are trying to discredit me as a legitimate and official asus reseller thats pretty low and pathetic. but then again i guess people say stupid things when their jelouse. :p

Actually the really pathetic thing is that if some joe blow wanted to sell Asus notebooks today, they could be listed on Asus' where to buy list - tomorrow.... 90% of those on their list haven't been there more than a year to begin with....... but no to be on their list isn't just pathetic, but it's questionable. I wouldn't even consider most of their "where to buy" list credible sources for information as most have never even seen an Asus laptop, let alone sold one...... and then we have you, sitting in the forum with single digit posts - all pointing towards the W7 and nothing else in the world to back up anything you say. As I stated, you can go about things in a correct manner or sit and take the public abuse..... But a legitimate Asus reseller #1, is required to sell for the price Asus sets and #2, wouldn't and should hide around as an anonymous person in a forum, using ebay as their method of selling.... Customers should be concerned about getting notebooks from a source like that first and foremost and as a secondary precaution, be concerned about having a valid warranty without the bill of sale from an authorized dealer.

Are you suggesting that any Asus reseller who does not strictly comply with the #1 is not a legitimate reseller then?

There are maybe three dealers in North America that are actually selling Asus' notebooks as Asus expects them sold...... call Asus and see who they refer you to.

There are maybe another three or four companies who sell Asus notebooks who are "reputable" but either don't sell for the set price Asus expects the systems sold at or modifies them and voids the integrity of Asus' global warranty. Selling Asus' notebooks at a certain price is mainly about not dilluting the value of the line. Dillute the value of the systems and Asus will lose the dealers who built them up in the US and the experience, knowledge and reputations that go along with them.

Legitimacy is really another issue all together. I should have used the term "qualified" or something else.... We're one of two "premium partners" with Asus in North America. That means more to Asus than it does a consumer..... It's really an award for what we've added to the relationship and our sales efforts over the years.... but again, means more to us and Asus than it does anyone else because of how Taiwan regulates the US branch....... However, you can only buy extended warranties for Asus notebooks through legitimate sources...... they don't need to have ever sold or seen an Asus notebook, but need to be listed on Asus' website as a source for ensembles.... Not to be listed on Asus' site - given how humiliatingly easy it is to be listed there nowadays, it's more a pathetic issue than a legitimate one..... If they're not listed on Asus' site, there's some blackmarket or at least some no-good activity going on..... simply because there's no reason for it.
