Acer produced some of these a couple years back, but I'm wondering why we haven't seen any refreshed Chromebooks powered by the same Tegra X1 processor that the NVIDIA Shield TV has. The market is growing for higher-end systems like this, especially with Google Play access expanding to more models. I just ordered the new Lenovo Flex 11 with the ARM processor that went on sale this week, but I wouldn't mind paying more for a convertible Chromebook with the Tegra since it would also give access to Shield-compatible games.

Because in terms of real raw power Intel excels, but in terms of battery power the Tegra's blasts through.
I personally think that the Chromebook high-end market isn't stable enough for NVIDIA margins atm. -
All I can say is that my Tegra-powered Nexus 9 offered the most inconsistent, disappointing real-world performance of anything I've bought in years and years.

I quite enjoyed the NVIDIA Shield devices I had a couple years back. Only sold them because they weren't being used nearly as often as I thought.

Nvidia just couldnt compete with Intel, Qualcomm and AMD as far as chipsets and CPU goes.

What happened to NVIDIA Tegra Chromebooks?
