    What happens if you just run TS in monitoring mode to check your multipliers? That's what I do. TS is a great tool but it seems like enabling it (at least on BIOS A09) does more harm than good. Even unclewebb said once Dell found out how TS works they fought harder to combat what it does (in newer BIOSes).

    Without it will go to 7x multi after a while..but not always.
    When I then tick 13x in TS..it will be playable for a while.
    I then turn TS off to prevent CKMOD throttling..however multi keeps going to 7x

    @unclewebb
    Even when TS is OFF, and my CKMOD is at 62.5 (e.g.) it goes back to 100 when i turn on the CKMOD option.
    It also goes to 100% when i turn off the option again

    Clock modulation should never be used on a CPU unless the heatsink has become loose and the core temperatures are completely out of control.

    Based on that, when you click on the Clock Modulation box in ThrottleStop, it resets this immediately to 100.0% because there's no reason it should be set to anything less. Same thing when you turn off the Clock Modulation box. For most users, it's never a good idea to leave clock modulation on. If I did that, ThrottleStop wouldn't be doing its job.

    Obviously your XPS 1645 has far more throttling problems than most. Why not contact Dell and ask them to come up with some sort of solution?

    Have you tried playing games with the multiplier deliberately locked to a low value with ThrottleStop. If it was locked to 9, that might prevent the bios from using clock modulation. You wouldn't be getting nearly the performance you paid for but if doing that reduces power consumption and prevents the bios from using clock modulation, you might be better off.

    The problem is that even with TS in log mode, my multiplier will go to 10x or 9x or even 7x. Compared to ~15x multi with boost this causes sub 25fps in games..

    So I set TS 13x multi and press ON and then directly OFF. The multi goes back in to turbomode and all is fine. (Now i wonder why my multi went to 7x in the first place).

    Five minutes later the same thing happens, and I repeat.
    Another face minutes later, multi stays at turbo mode (up to 2000mhz+) but my CKMOD starts dropping slowly..usually to 62.5%.

    At this point TS cannot get the CKMOD to 100%, it will go back to 62.5 when i touch a key.

    I try setting multi to 10x and brightness to lowest but CKMOD will not go back.
    Only if i set multi to 7x and wait a long time it will go back. However at 7x multi and 62.5 CKMOD (or sometimes it's 12.5) performance is so bad I can hardly use windows itself.

    I've now removed TS from startup because I think it messes with the system even in OFF mode (see post above).
    I do this because I used to only get throttling after sleep/hibernation.. but rebooting would fix it.
