I never typed on a Latitude, but the keyboard on the xps may/may not have a little bulge at the center near the media bar due to underwires. Typing on it is very nice, but since it's silver you may get a few smudges from your hands which can be cleaned.

I guess I deleted my earlier pics from imagshack so here they are again. Once again, Vostro 1500 samsung vs the 1530 LED CMO1555. Vista has the LED.

    Hey,

It isn't like I don't believe you or anything. The different is that huge? Are your Vostro has bad pannel? I mean it is night and day!!

 The pictures don't lie. All of those pictures were at 100% brightness. The samsung wasn't a great screen IMO and the difference really is night and day.

Some specs from the CMO site about the LED screen for anyone that cares:
    -350 nits luminance
    -75/75/75/75 viewing angles
    -800:1 static contrast ratio
    -262k colors
    -5 watts power consumption
    -16ms response time

Looks pretty good. The response time is a little slow, but I've had no problems in games or anything.

Wow, the LED is really bright!!
BTW there’re any graininess and light leakage for the CMO LED screen?

Now I’m waiting for Samsung LED panel and Toshiba LED panel to come out to compare with CMO. I heard Samsung LED is the best for M1330.

There's no graininess, but there is light bleeding at the bottom of the screen when it's black. On normal use, you can't tell if it's there.

I have a question: If I do not like my CCFL LCD, can I pay Dell to have a technician come out and install an LED panel, or do I have to completely return the system and get a new one built?

Um well it is replaceable, so I assume you can. Though replacing your current system with an LED panel from what I've heard from another who contacted support about it, it costs 300 dollars for the part itself.

depends on how you want to watch it- black bars or not, etc. its not going support 1080 without bars. (but neither will the 1900x1200 exactly either). The newer 16 in laptops are more designed for showing the image without cropping in high definition.

it will not crop the image, the detail will be reduced because you won't have as many pixels to deal with, not a problem for most users though

Blu-ray doesn't give you much benefit over DVD on such a small screen. At least not that I can tell on my 16" one. But hey it was included in my $1200 machine, so I can't complain. Dell charges 1/3 of my laptop for the Blu-ray!

    Hi Guys!
I want to buy a m1530 laptop product red and in the display options I do not have the LED option. So, what should I do? Can I call dell and they will put a special request on the order?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions...!

Are you in the UK or Canada? I'm wondering about *availability*...

Edit: just checked Dell CA configs, and only the LCD is available on all 3 screen choices.. :(

I don't think you can get it in the LED then....sorrys.

    Cin ;) :)

    I know...and that's a major *that suck's* issue, that it's not availi' w/LED for the red..... :(

So, if you really want the LED option, you make have to take up the other 3 color choices ;) :)

Hello guys, I am just info asking if eBay would be trusted website to buy a laptops from, you can save much more than dell, my friend is confused and stressed thinking where should he spend his money. Some ebay sellers are great and a laptop there that i saw for $1450 would cost $1900 + at dell.ca....... BTW many links have LED screens which is an awesome extra too. I have read about ebay issues, stealing, credit cards info given away...all that sry for kind of gettin off topic but i really want to be part of my friends choice!

Guys, any comments on M1530 CMO LED screen VS Studio 15 LG LED screen?
As we know, generally LG produce good quality screen (and brighter).
I wonder LG will have upper hand for LED screen also.

I like LPL CCFL on my Vostro 1500 more than Studio 1537's LED screen !
It has better color. LED is so bright and hurts my eyes.
