ordered my FHD/I5 on Oct. 9. It was in pre-production forever with expected delivery Nov 17. Then finally went into production November 9, and .... then ... today the expected delivery was updated to Dec 23!!! That is lame. And others that ordered in Nov are getting theirs.
Plus if you go to their web site and order now, you would get it early December. (expected delivery).

I'm getting expected 12/7/2015.
May cancel and find something else. I need to get over the infinity screen. -
-
Has anyone had a ridiculous estimated delivery date - eg. 7 weeks from order date - but then had it suddenly go to production and be delivered after only a short time?
(I'm looking for hope. Ordered 6-nov, edd 18-dec) -
I just ordered (today) a XPS 9550 4K 16GB 512GB 84 WHr from europe.
Expected delivery 28-dec-2015.
Prices here went up again (+100 euro), Lucky a had offer (with discount) yesterday. -
I contacted them through Facebook to cancel, it's been already over a month since I placed an order and I'm not waiting another two. We'll see, they told me they need 48 hours to cancel... Three months is ridiculous, Volvo custom build and shipped across the pond my XC90 in less time. -
Well my Mercedes was a 8 month wait (some have to wait for longer than that) so 3 months is not that long in comparison
-
It seems mine were accurate: Ordered: November 6, ETA: November 23, Shipped: Nov 12, late last night. Things typically take a week to arrive from the USA, figure it should arrive a day early or on the original delivery date.

Just spoke to Anthony over at Dell and so far this is what I got.
6:50:02 PMTIP_Anthony B : Perfect , All Xps models not only 15 is on back order.
6:50:45 PMMe : Okay, what is the estimated date?
6:51:35 PMTIP_Anthony B : We estimate your order should be delivered on or before Dec 7.
I placed my order on Monday (9th) and it's still in pre-production but now I know why so I guess I either have to wait or find an alternative. -
Is it because I got a discount from them and theyre backing out? WTF? -
Ordered mine through Best Buy. They just pushed my delivery date again to December 24th. The worst part is they are still advertising (as of right now) that you can have it delivered by Nov 23rd. What is going on?
-
The date they gave me was that the production of the laptop would be 11th Dec for an 18th Dec delivery. Due to all the delivery guys being out around then I potentially wouldn't get the laptop until Jan 4th.
(My order is for 4k/512gb/16gb from Dell UK)
In the meantime, I'm keeping an eye out for alternatives so that I can order that instead with an 'instock, 3 day delivery' and cancel this Dell. eg, a macbook pro 4k if that appears without fanfare, but anything 4k with decent colour gamut and battery life and speakers (I don't need a dedicated GPU for gaming) -
My order for November 19 has been pushed back to December 3.
I hope to get it by the end of next week (the 27th). -
-
Mine arrived an hour ago, on the plus side, a few days ahead of schedule. I was not impressed with the courier (Purolator). Given the value I was half expecting to sign for it. The driver made no attempt to knock and deliver it but simply left it in the screen door, $2000 worth. Someone could have easily walked off with a free notebook!.
-
I'm still at Pre-Production and EDD is still December 7th.
As it stands, I will be happy as long as I get it before Christmas, because if I don't it will be next year and that would be a bit ridiculous. -

I’m sorry to hear about the situation. The shipper can choose whether a signature is required or not when the label is being created, which then authorizes the driver to leave the package at the door. That being said, if the shipper didn’t request a signature and the driver feels it’s not safe to leave it, the package is generally brought back to the depot as a precaution. This would certainly be applicable if the packaging or label made it clear that a laptop was in the box. Would it be possible to email your tracking number to [email protected] so that we can look into this?
Thank you,

My i5/4K/256GB is at the Toronto Purolator depot, scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Pretty excited!
-
i7/4k/256GB is now in production ordered on 10/30 in US, 12/1 delivery date

Original unit (i7/FHD/512GB) was ordered 10/14 and delivered on 11/2. An issue with the keyboard caused me to raise a case with support on 11/5 and an exchange request for a new replacement was issued. However, nearly two weeks have gone by and they have yet to be able to tell me when the replacement unit will be shipped.

I'm free!!! After they pushed delivery to Dec 28 a week ago (original order date 10/10) I was trying to get it to cancel. Since you wait forever on hold I used their Facebook chat, which got me some run-of-the-mill responses and zero action although they promised to get the order cancelled. Finally today I lasted on chat waiting for two hours and got it done. I even got RMA numbers for accessories which were delivered a month ago. Well, not for all of them, because apparently the smaller items are handled by a different department even though they arrived in the same box. So I need to call again to get those two remaining items returned. Lessons learned:
1. Never pre-order from Dell again
2. Never order any accessories when ordering a laptop from Dell. You can get them once your main item arrives.
3. Even if they advertise promo prices when getting some accessories together with computer purchase they put them on sale frequently for everyone to purchase.
Overall through the whole process I felt like I was inside a Monty Python sketch. It was nice hanging out with you guys, I'm going back to the bare-bones section of the forum. -
Wow, those guys are bad. I can't believe they're in IT business. So, just got an email from Fedex delivery manager that there is package for me inbound from Nashville, TN. Dell is the sender and it weights 8 pounds. I wonder what it may be? Timeline, look at the hours:
11/19/2015 12:41:35PM Agent : "There appears to be an LCD shortage that is causing the delay with the order."
11/19/2015 12:42:13PM Me: "yeah, and the shortage was from oCT 10"
11/19/2015 12:42:29PM Agent : "What you could do is check if there is ana alternate part available for the LCD."
Then connected to sales specialist to cancel:
11/19/2015 01:27:44PM Agent : "we have processed the request for cancellation of your order, the confirmation code is:
Fedex tracking:
11/19/2015 - Thursday
4:14 pm Shipment information sent to FedEx
3:09 pm Picked up
So 90 minutes after my cancellation the laptop was on Fedex truck. 2 hours 20 minutes after another consultant confirmed the delay with delivery. Now it's not Monty Python anymore, I hear The Outer Limits theme music in my head. Paypal hold was cancelled, order ID on Dell website is cancelled. -
So basically you're getting your XPS 15 for free, you shouldn't complain
-
In the UK ordered on 19/11/15 - expected delivery on or before 05/01/16
Pretty horrendous delivery times honestly, but it is what it is I suppose. -
1. You have reached my residence, I'm very sorry but we're experiencing larger than normal amount of crap from our 18 month old twins. Your expected time to be on hold is two hours. We appreciate your business and we're very happy that you have chosen our residence for your business needs. Once again we apologize for the inconvenience.
2. We're listening (that was the most commonly used line when I was trying to contact them by Facebook). Our twins go to bed at 7pm. We're very sorry but we can't take any calls after that time, it's the only free time we have in a whole day. Please try calling Monday 8 am. -
Mine went into production last night and was upgraded to 2-day delivery for free so I am still hoping for December 7th as my delivery date. I cant wait! I hope it will be worth it.
-
Mine went into production a week ago, and now it seems order is cancelled... Again, for a second time.
-
You are in US?

Mine was in production and has just changed back to pre production. What is this madness

ETA Jan. 4, 2016 -

So... they cancelled my order (which was showing as "In Production") and "re-ordered" it again with estimated delivery date 08/01/2016. 3rd time in a row, with original order placed 13/10/2015. And BTW, no guarantee that they won't cancel it again. For me it's a time to say - Hasta la vista, Dell.
-
Called Dell yesterday and got my tracking number with Purolator. To be delivered by Tuesday.
-
If my doesn't ship this coming up week, I am saying bye to dell as well.
-
So mine changed to shipped but strangely the tracking info on Syncreon (never heard of these people) has been sitting at "DEPARTED MANU.FACILITY", Location: CHINA for 3 days with no update?
Why Dell is actually shipping expensive laptops to European customers from China I have no idea. For the money we are paying they should be shipping on express shipping from a facility in Europe.
Has anyone had any experience with this "Syncreon" in the past? -
My delivery date slipped today to December 11 (originally: December 1), ordered on October 27...
-
hey guys just got the xps 15 WAY AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

Haha lucky, I ordered on 19th Nov and still waiting mine has been sitting at "DEPARTED MANU.FACILITY" since the 28th I'm in the UK though.
I can't complain to much yet I guess my original ETA was 5th Jan, so at least it seems like it will arrive this year.
Dell could really learn something from Apple when it comes to shipping spending almost £2k on a device I expect a better/faster service honestly. These things should be shipping express especially if dell is choosing to ship everything out of China.Last edited: Dec 2, 2015 -
ordered 20th November, the original delivery date was January 6th 2016
Shipped on Saturday and is going to arrive today.
