Yeah, Red..it does tend to make catch finger marks, as black does! It's the "gloss effect"

I ordered an white. Does it have alose leather around hinge?
I think it has. But I am not sure.
Anybody who can clear me on this?

Yes the White should come with the leather accent on the bottom.

The only problem I have with the black is that it's too common between the notebooks :/

 

Got the white hoping the keyboard area would be white too (I HATE FINGERPRINTS!)

But the insides are black Oh well, its still hawt!

Weird thing though... When I got my laptop, the XPS logo on the right screen hinge was scratched badly. It looks like someone smeared gum over it, but there are actual scratches all over the little circle. The left side if perfect.

Not worth calling and complaining about.

 

I would, that sucks. Getting a nice laptop with scratches! I'd be furious because i keep my car and things i like looking fresh. Hope mine doesn't have that problem.

 

I got red, It is realy nice and i just wanted something other than black.

I like red, and I don't want something that everyone else has. As far as looks go that would suck having a cookie cutter laptop look, with such a great machine.

I'm considering getting either the black or red, but don't you guys think that the Merlot Red is a little girlish? Not being stereotypical here, just asking for your personal opinions.

 

Personally I might suspect the red to appear slightly feminine (though I haven't seen one in person) and hence I would likely purchase the black one again even if given the option of red. The only reason I might consider the white model is due to finger print visibility on the model. In addition to this, unlike klsstheglrls, I specifically would prefer a laptop that blends in with the rest of them out there.

*Nope, nothing worth stealing here...just your average laptop. Now that red one over there is worth keeping your eyes on.*

 

Ah yeah, you pretty much summed up my thoughts on this, still, i'm still contemplating between the two. Main concern now is Red being too "showy" and black being, well, dull imo. Probably gonna get a good look at both tomorrow.

I went with red and like it. It is not an overly bright red, I originally ordered black but when I had to reorder due to the wireless part # snafu I changed the color to red and am happy I did.

Hey! To those who have the white ones, what are you guys using to clean the leather?

 

My only concern about getting the white one is how clean the white leather will keep! I don't want it to have gone a horrible shade of something-that-isn't-matching-the-glossy-part after a couple of years... Any body have any info or advice on how well it will keep?
