Has anyone tried to install this touchpad driver?
    http://www.dell.com/support/home/us...productCode=xps-13-9350-laptop&driverId=377D1
I cant install it, I am getting some uknown error after installation.

I have found it here (there are more drivers available than on the usual Dell support page):
    http://downloads.dell.com/published/pages/xps-13-9350-laptop.html

To those that suffered with laptop turning on itself after going to sleep or shutdown: Have you noticed any difference in the last month with the new BIOS, Windows updates, etc.? I rang Dell and the tech support guys acted like they dont know what is causing it.

Of course you can't install it, it's made solely for Windows 7.

Oh, I thought it would be Win10 compatible too (the tech support advised me to try that). My bad, I should have checked first.

I have had my battery replaced today due to malfunction and I have also discussed with the Dell technician the "self wake up loop" the laptop sometimes has. Of course it was not present at that time but I got it back just now :( a few hours later. What he suggested was reinstalling the graphics and sound card drivers, try to remove all the unnecessary Dell SW and if nothing helps - then just clean Windows installation (not from the recovery). Has anyone gone so far or have you managed to get rid of those annoying wake up loops without reinstalling the system?

Found it in HWinfo, I guess it is the CPU package power I should be looking at?
Whilst gaming Minecraft yesterday it was on 15W (+/- a few %) the whole time, from beginning to end.
I only saw one bump to 18W, but it lasted only for like a second. Is there any modifications I should do to activate 25W mode?

I run on "high performance" (TDP option under settings is set on high), and I cant fint anything under Intel HD graphics options that should limit my system to 15W.

You should be looking at the frequency. If the CPU goes under 2.2Ghz and the GPU goes until 700.

Has anyone tried having Dell flash their 1080p version's panel firmware with the DBC fix? I have yet to see one and so far only the QHD+ seems to be getting fixed with the easy tool.

    Hi Guys,
i did a clean install of windows 10, because i noticed some problems in waking up when the laptop was charging. Now, after installing the drivers from the Dell website, the laptop has some heating problem and a very loud coil whine( before clean install there was only a very little noise). Did someone has those problem after clean insall of windows 10? is there an automatic way to check up if all the drivers are the latest available?
    Thank you guys.
    Have a nice day!

Razor Core finally taking pre-orders availble next month. Fingers crossed it works with XPS13...

    http://www.engadget.com/2016/03/16/razer-announces-pricing-and-availability-for-the-core/

The Core operates through a single Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) plug to deliver both power and data (up to 40 Gbps) to the connected ultrabook. Plus, It supports double-wide, full-length, PCI-Express x16 card from AMD or NVIDIA -- that's four times the data bandwidth of what its rival, the Alienware Amplifier, offers. What's more, the Core will include four USB 3.0 ports and wired Ethernet connectivity

Considering that they just showed off an Intel NUC using the core, I'm pretty sure almost all computers with the TB3 will work with it to an extent. It might be buggy, but I think the most basic functionality will be there.

    Hi

I was wondering if anyone else are experiencing mouse input lag? (trackpad slow to start a two finger scroll/needing to tap extra hard to register a click)

I have had my 9350 since december, and this started fairly recently (maybe 2 weeks ago), but i cannot pinpoint an excact thing that may have triggered it.

    I have a QHD+ i7, HD520,16gb, 512gb model. Latest drivers & bios from dell/station drivers.

I am running windows 10 insider builds, but i do not recall any of the new builds triggering this.

Why did you do a clean install?
My xps has arrived last week and I don't see any problems..

After clean install, did you get dell's software? Where can I find it?

    Thanks

Guys, is there anyone who HAD the wake up loops before and managed somehow to get rid of them? Either by doing a clean install or any other way? Thank you!

What is your current battery wear? I have got the battery replaced (due to malfunction) and the new one shows 7 % battery wear from the beginning.

Does anybody know good car charger than can be shipped to europe? Preferably one with Type C so it is more universal, but Dell's circular port is also OK.

My battery wear is 5.7% now and it was around the same when it arrived in November. My guess it is just lottery draw, some people probably got 0% and some probably have even more than yours 7%.

Power options (search for it) -> Change plan settings -> change advanced power settings -> under sleep set "hibernate after" to never.
Has worked for me (+ of course all the latest drivers from Dell) ..

Did you update all the drivers & the BIOS? The video driver that mine shipped with was pretty bad, the same goes for the nvme driver. You can go to the device manager (press win+x, then m) and check for updated drivers for the graphics card (under display adapters) and the intel controller (under storage devices).
Personally I think the factory Windows is fairly low on bloatware, so I'd try to pinpoint issues you might have before attempting a fresh install (which might introduce new variables for potential issues). The only thing that really bugged me was McAfee, but there's a removal tool: https://service.mcafee.com/webcente...2?articleId=TS101331&_afrLoop=139127410927686

You can get a shortened adapter for micro SD cards. There are several on amazon; I got this one and it's perfectly flush in my 9350.

    Hi folks,
Has anyone used this with Linux and can comment on the touchpad performance? I think I'm lusting after one of these. ;) At present I'm using a Lenovo Y50 and the touchpad performance is awful. Here are the problems I have:
    - Two finger touch may work the first time, or the second., third or eventually I give up and grab a mouse to click the right button.
    - Tapping to click frequently moves the pointer just a little and my click misses the mark.
    - Palm detection simply does not work and I find myself typing elsewhere than where I wanted to be typing. Sometimes when this happens text is accidentally selected and deleted as I type the next character.

If I knew that the XPS 13 did not have these issues, I could lust even harder. :D If I know that the XPS 13 had the same or similar problems, it would cool off the ardor a lot.

    Thanks!

I made a clean install because i upgraded SSD and the only Dell driver i installed after that was for Wi-Fi. Everything works fine but sometimes the display driver crashes for some reason.

Actually, there is one. If you hold down F12 when you turn on the PC, you're taken to a Dell menu. You can select diagnostics and it will run hardware diagnostics on your PC. In the diagnostics screens, it will tell you your battery wear, and also the number of recharge cycles for the battery (that's the only place I've been able to see the number of recharge cycles).

It's probably the adaptive battery charging wear function - look in the BIOS or Dell power management utility. It is "Adaptive" by default - hence the different experiences of everyone. Windows doesn't quite report it properly - if adaptive stops charging before 100%, it will report it as wear. Also, if the battery has > the rated 56 Wh capacity (mine as 59 Wh), then Windows reports it as 106% (for me) at full charge and the PowerChg /batteryreport gets confused when reporting battery usage too. Set the battery charging mode to standard, not adaptive (or customer or primarily AC use) then check again. And then set back to adaptive after. Also check the battery current battery capacity against the rated 56 Wh too. Confusion reigns.

Anyone else's microphone not working and just making a screeching sound? I have my drivers updated to the latest ones that are on dell's website. Not sure if its a software issue or hardware. If it's a hardware issue then this will be my second time needing to replace this laptop :'(

I have the i7 6560u QHD with 16GB RAM and 512 GB SSD and my coil whine can get pretty bad at times too. It seems to be worse when it's plugged in and running the processor and/or SSD hard and also seems to randomly get worse when scrolling (with 2 fingers on the trackpad) in Chrome.

Can't figure out what exactly is causing it but it sounds like it's coming from inside the keyboard area or the screen. Don't know if I should return it or just live with it. Does anyone know if there is any potential damage being done as a result of the coil whine or if the coil whine is a sign of some sort of internal issue?

Coil whine is when the inductors are vibrating at their resonant frequency. Electrically it's supposed to be harmless.

This is quite subjective thing - many people dont really hear it or simply dont care about it at all. It is very subtle noise. I am very sensitive to such noise and have heard it from first power on after unpacking. To be honest though most of the time the usual background noise covers that whine, it is not very noticeable at least on my unit (i5, FHD). I guess it may be more noticeable on higher powered units or units with bigger power draw (i7, QHD+, Iris) - some guessed it is the graphics card responsible for that - so maybe the Iris has more whine than HD520. There are some able to try that out side by side.

I doubt it's the graphics card. If that were the case all pc's with integrated graphics would have the same issue and they don't.

Not sure what you mean about the bag, but I just leave mine in semi-permanently and use an external reader for other cards. Soon I'm going to get Sandisk's 200gb microsd - not bad for supplemental storage!

Someone on this thread have stated he didnt have coil whine after clean install until he installed the graphics driver. It may also depend on internal implementation so not all kinds of laptops have to have it. But no one really knows what is causing it.

Sorry. Like if it's in a case or something, is there any force on it which could break it or damage the computer or it's fine even in a tight case?
