In my opinion; I think it's pretty impressive after the new XPS 15 refreshes of the 9550 that Dell is still pushing out updates for it, as I know that others have had their unfortunate issues with it from the initial release, yet I still think it's a great computer and that Dell really hit it right with the overall design of it.

My 9550 warranty will expire on July of 2020 and when the New Year rings in I have all intentions on contacting Dell in the hopes they will agree to another extended warranty, as for what I do and need; I just couldn't ask for a more reliable computer with an absolute gorgeous display.

Can someone help me? When I last cleaned my 9550 with a very soft brush the little component in the pic was loose.
It has three legs, two on one side and one on the other, the single one isn't connected to the board anymore.
It was already soldered when I got the XPS 9550 back from a warranty once.
It looks like the pad is off as well so I don't know if I can solder it on again.
The notebook seems to run normal on first glance, but I had a BSOD since and weirdly it really lags over Remote Desktop now.
Benchmarks run fine though. I am still testing if the BSOD was some one off thing.
I searched for schematics, but couldn't find what type of component this is.

    Splitframe,

The search function is broken at NBR so it is very difficult to search solutions now. I don't remember anyone having any issues with QE5. And I can't find any high definiton motherboard photos right now.

The apparently failing "QE5" seems to be bipolar transistor related to thermal diode scheme (this throttles your computer when it gets hot). Transistor part number for similar systems might be METR3904WG-SC70-3, although that seems like a Dell part number for different laptop, this seems to be a somewhat generic part.

I would guess QE5 is relating to temp around the CPU based on location. FYI the three tall silver chokes R22 that are clustered together are for the adjacent CPU (the three chokes lined up nicely are for the nearby GPU). You might find other similar components like QE1, QE2 etc. which might be related to temp around fan, DRAM, skin of laptop, etc.

Nearby is H56 temp sensor which could be related to QE5. I can't see that in your photo

EDIT - I don't have the schematic so all this is just speculation.

Your photo is a bit fuzzy so a few questions:

    - Does QE5 look like it is burnt or broken or with a hole in it?
    - What do the QE5 soldier joints look like? Green, crusty, cracked, black.
    - Is the motherboard around QE5 clean or does it look dirty, burnt, coloured...
    - Look carefully around at other components, their soldier joints, the motherboard. Particularly stuff nearby. Everything tidy and clean?
    - Can you get a high quality clear macro picture of the QE5?

Without being able to see anything, possible issues are:

    - Failed QE5 or upstream/downstream component
    - Water damage to soldier joints
    - Epoxy damage to soldier joints (from adhering the alu heatsinks to the VRM mosfets)
    - Broken soldier joints (from accidently hitting the QE5 or heat cycling)

I think it would be best to try to troubleshoot and fix the hardware issue before using laptop anymore.

Thank you for your indept answer, it is much appreciated.
When I first noticed it was loose I took a good look at it.
It seems the solder pad was taken off.
I do distinctly remember that I didn't touch any components when installing the heatsinks.
If I did it would be covered in thermal glue I guess. I believe that the component itself is still intact.
It still hangs on, just one leg is not connected.
There is nothing else around it. Nothing is burned, nothing is blackened, it doesn't even smell weird.
It's just that one disconnected leg.
Since it was soldered with leaded solder I could imagine that the solder point weakened.
I do heavily use it with temps going really high, hence the heatsink mod.

Take a good macro photo then to confirm if this is either broken soldier joint or lifted pad. Things are so small it is tough to tell with the naked eye.

Dell would have used non-leaded soldier for ROHS compliance.

If this is broken soldier joint, you can fix with a bit of liquid flux, soldier, and something to clean the flux as needed. If this is a lifted pad, there are a few options, including running coated wire either point to point. Louis Rossman has some good YouTube videos repairing these types of damages so will have best practices. I have limited experience fixing lifted soldier pads at microscopic level so can't help more. You might just bring this to the local repair laptop repair shop and ask them to rebond although that is a bit expensive for an old laptop.

Here are a few pages on testing transistors. For sure computer needs to be off. But I don't know if you will get correct readings if the transistor is tested in a circuit. Once again, I don't recall seeing this QE5 failing in any posts here. I might (or might not) test for fun.

As prices of QLC SSDs have become so cheap, some might revisit boosting storage on the 9550. After a terrible launch, these laptops have proven to be quite robust.

Parts to add a 2.5" drive to the 9550 are in the link below (with the smaller battery required). This will run SATA speeds (presumably SATA III @ 6Gb/s but you never know). The m.2 is 4x lanes.

    * Warning on recent wifi bluetooth Drivers on the Dell site.

Oddly Dell had 5(!) wifi/bluetooth drivers on its site for my laptop service tag (1820 & 1830). This weekend, I downloaded and installed the following Wifi and bluetooth drivers, respectively:

    Communications_Driver_R3D5X_WN32_1.442.0.0_A00.EXE
    Communications_Application_8R3ND_WN32_12.0.1.720_A00.EXE

I could not get the 1830 wifi card to work after clean install of new SSD. The bluetooth was a bit hit or miss but seemed to work as well as it did previously. The wifi was dead as a doornail. I reinstalled the drivers, removed the wifi card to inspect all the connections, reinstalled windows...no luck. I found a patch on Dell's site by pure luck.

It seems Dell has a defective wifi driver currently on the downloads site. It seems there is a patch "Dell Wireless 1820A 1830 WiFi Driver 1.566.0.2, A07 (fixes - Corrected WPA2 protocol vulnerabilities) which requires some manual effort to install the inf file.

Immediately after extracting the file and following Dell's irritating instructions, wifi worked perfectly. Just got lucky looking there:

    "Installation
    1. Browse to the location where the Self-Extractor placed the driver files (C:\DELL\DRIVERS\xxxxx).
    2. Locate the bcmwdidhdpcie.INF and right click on this file.
    3. Choose Install from the contextual menu, and wait for the driver to install. There will be a popup message to confirm driver installed successfully."

    DW1820A_1830_WiFi_Win10_x64_1.566.0.2_SETUP_ZPE.exe

Not sure if the other two drivers (1820) would work correctly,

    * I picked up a new 1TB nvme drive (xpg sx8200 pro). For $100 it runs great and CrystalDiskMark results are in line with maker claims and published "reviews".

    * I will install the 1TB HDD for media etc. later this week once laptop is set up.

    * Last year, I installed 3M Super33 electrical tape between the fans and the radiators to improve airflow but some of that tape on the plastic fan housing was a bit loose. So I just removed the offending tape and installed more tape in that area for better adhesion. Also blew some of the dust out of the fans, but they were pretty clean.

    * Also, the FHD screen has some artifacts at the top left corner running towards the bottom right corner. The artifacts are somewhat rectangular but the bottom right side looks like ripped paper. Rectangle is about 5cm x 10cm. Rectangle is not visible straight on, but at an angle we can see the rectangle perimeter, particularly with a white screen.

To remove the artifacts, I tried removing both the screen and backlight connectors, cleaning with electronics cleaner spray, blowing dry with canned air. Then I gently massaged and straightened the cables, and reconnected. The connections are hopelessly small so maybe there are a few bent pins I can't see. After repair effort, no difference, unfortunately. So this might be physical damage to the panel, although the laptop is in one room virtually all the time. Doesn't bother me much to be frank.

Good video below of UK tech reviewing a dead 9550 with microscope, thermal camera, and DMM.

Screen test works. Occasional fan spin but will not boot up. Tech noted one of the mosfets to the CPU was shorted (AO ZS019QI TA5S23) which you see in the picture below. My 9550 mosfets have slightly different part numbers FYI.

In comments, he noted that he replaced mosfet but no change, so concluded failed CPU.

Not sure how this died. Tech wrote, "In our case it wasn't a bios issue. It's possible that a corrupt firmware can cause this problem."

I suppose Maybe mosfet failed (overworked and sometimes run very hot) and killed cpu but I don't think the CPU just died and killed the upstream mosfet. I remember people here measuring 120*C+ temps in that area so if the laptop was not measuring and/or regulating temps in that VRM region, the lives of the mosfets would be shortened. Disabling Intel DPTF or shorting out the ambient temp sensor would cause this.

Potential mitigation is to reduce temps in the laptop (repaste CPU/GPU, run Dell Command-Power Manager on cool, etc.). Maybe BIOS update problem as we know how sloppy dell is.

@ pressing is this a 9550 only issue, or can it happen on a 9560 and 9570 too?

I rarely read about this failure for the 9550, 9560, 9570, so I don't think it is a common issue. The tech said he read all over the internet about it but there were so many defects with the XPS models it is easy to confuse them lol.

The vrm on all these are under-engineered. They run hot and hard with little cooling. Hot components will generally have a shorter lifespan. But as protection Dell has that ambient temp sensor set very low to throttle away performance and heat.

It is possible the mosfet failed after years of exposure to heat. Or the laptop was used with heavy gaming / processing. Maybe some power spike killed it but there are a lot of components and protection between the mains and the CPU. Maybe the CPU or the mosfet was a dud.

We won't know as there is no public schematic. And the tech did not solve the issue. It seems that motherboard swap is the normal fix. I suppose one could source another CPU but that takes time to install. And installing a new CPU on a failed board with no schematic or definitive cause of failure is a risky proposition. Replacing the motherboard with a known good board from a reliable source with a warranty would be my next step...but they are so expensive that maybe it is time to update.

    Hi pressing,

very interesting to read that you are going to assamle the Adata XPG SX8200pro in your Dell XPS 15 9550. The german computer magazin ct reported that this SSD is not designed to be used in an Ultrabook. The magazin claims that the SSD is double sided and that it comes with a cooling device because it runs hot allready in idel (57 degree celsius).

I am very curious about your findings how the Adata performs in your Dell in a mid-term and a long run. Hope that you not gonna need the help of the guy in the video you have posted.

Thanks Chang. I'll keep an eye on this. Tech PowerUP did a review and show some thermal throttling with write tests but not read tests as you might expect.

    https://www.techpowerup.com/review/adata-sx8200-pro-1-tb/7.html

Since most of my daily work is mundane or read intensive (playing big virtual instrument libraries), thermals are not an issue for me.

SSD runs around 35*c - 45*c pretty consistently with the included alu heatsink. I saw temps mid 50*c when installing a lot of software but that was only for a few hours of labour.

My room is cold around 18*c so that helps. And the laptop has a good repaste to cpu/gpu, undervolt, and tape to improve airflow from fans to exhaust radiators.

I could put fujipoly thermal pads from the m.2 drive to the case bottom if m.2 temps cause throttling but for my use case I don't have any problems for now.

Several pages back I asked how come the left side keeps heating up... That's the one, the tape next to the fan on the right under the ac outlet. Opposite side is next to the caps lock and shift. What part is this? It really heats up... How can I fix it? Thanks.

thermal pad_2.png Thanks for the info as always---and I have a few questions that are off topic, but I can't find the answers anywhere else. You guys always seem to be on top of things:

First, anyone have any experience with Samsung's 970 EVO? Specifically on heat issues. While waiting for the right time to upgrade to the latest XPS 15, I picked up a used Dell 17 7786 which runs great. I installed the 970 EVO and it ran so hot, 80-100 C according to Core Temp, that i took it out and put the M.2 sata back in which runs at a nice 30-50 C.This 7786 has a strange setup where the NMVE rests up agains the bottom cover like our XPS 15's but the drive is surrounded by a thick cushion attached the bottom cover cut out to fit it. This doesn't seem to bother the M.2 SSd though. A thermal pad doesn't seem to work, but I saw one suggestion on the web that suggests that you put a thermal pad UNDER the drive as well as on top as shown above. Make any sense?

Secondly, anyone heard anything about Dell refreshing our XPS 15 line with USB 4.0?

    Thanks for listening.

First & Foremost, glad to hear from you and hope all is going well on your end.

Unfortunately I can't help with the Samsung 970 EVO Heat issue, yet I'm sure other great members will, and all I can lead you to in regards to your final question is just XPS's Refresh & New Rumor's. (See Links Below)

    Hello,

I have a 9550 4k Touch which probably needs a motherboard replacement since I get the dell logo loop and have tried all troubleshooting to no avail.

My current processor is a i5-6300 with a Samsung 960 EVO hard drive. If i replace with a 9550 i7 motherboard, will i be able to use current hard drive without requiring a clean Windows install? Thanks!

Has anyone here bought a battery replacement for their xps 15 9550? I was going to do this 6 months ago but did not do it. Im out of the US at the time so i couldn't order it. But is partspeople pretty much only site to buy the xps 15 9550 battery? From what i checked that is the only site that sells legit dell batteries. They have the 84wh and 56wh. My laptop is the 56wh but i want to get a m.2 ssd and the 84wh batttery.

Can anyone here confirm the dell xps 15 9550 works with a 97whr battery? If so, i will most likely get a 512gb or 1tb m.2 ssd and then get the bigger 97whr battery. I mean i could get another 56whr battery but issue is my 256gb ssd is only has like 40gb space remaining. I regret so much getting this laptop years ago not knowing that it had the 56wh battery because i assumed all laptops of the same model has the same battery. Like did not know some come with the 84wh and some 56wh etc.

Where do you buy the 97whr battery? I checked parts people which sells authorized dell products and they only sell the 56whr and 84whr one. Only place i see the 97whr is on ebay and
on laptopbatteryexpress... it says it comes from South Korea Samsung. So that is good?

Can you give us the model number of the 97wh battery? Was this the original one you had when bought or you bought a replacement battery? Was your original the 84wh? So dell xps 15 9550 laptop come originally with the 97wh when bought new right? It either came with the 84wh or the 56wh depending on how many hard drives it came with?

So it seems like there are few options only to get a new battery since dell doesn't sell it.

    1. https://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=21120 $130 84wh battery

https://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=20256 $150 56wh battery - out of stock now but they always seem to have stock in soon.

This site i know sells legit dell products.

    2. https://www.laptopbatteryexpress.com/Dell-XPS-15-9550-Batteries-s/60148.htm

    56wh $110
    84wh $120
    97wh $130

The prices seem on par with the parts people site. But these are not geniune as i read its made in south korea. But these i assume are pretty good still? Seems like no brainer if you get a bigger battery pay extra $10 for the 97wh as oppose to 84wh one right?

    3. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OEM-OR...904192?hash=item364fbb3a40:g:lYoAAOSw0QFXBYVI

    56wh $79
    84wh $75
    97wh $95

This is the only seller on ebay where i see he is 100% feedback for batteries. Last time i asked him if these are legit dell OEM genuine and he tells me yes. But i read its not possible for ebay sellers to sell legit batteries from dell. So its the truth or lie? He seems to have the best prices.

Now a concern of mine is when you see similar sellers like this guy

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-GENUIN...654972?hash=item1ebbcae43c:g:8B4AAOSwARZXmmuJ

He has 99.8% feedback. But when you read some reviews of it, it said the battery swelled after a few months etc. This guy sells the 84wh battery a few dollars cheaper at 69 dollars. Now the big question is... is this the same 84wh battery that the other seller with 100% feedback seller sells as well?

    4. Ifixit

    https://www.ifixit.com/Store/PC-Lap...0-Precision-Replacement-Battery/IF328-013?o=1

Selling the 84wh for 80 dollars plus tax. I heard ifixit is very good site especially if you need to buy parts for your iphone etc. But this battery is not genuine right? Now where do they get the battery is the big question. They don't make it themselves right? So is there good chance its same as the ebay sellers? What about like laptopexpress where they get it from south korea?

    5. Amazon

Not going to post links but lot of 3rd party sellers sell these batteries with a wide range of prices. Amazon is probably worst idea to get a new dell xps 15 9550 battery right? I see lot of negative feedback but also some good feedback

My XPS 9550 came with a 84 Wh battery model 1P6KD. My local dealer in Switzerland offers a new genuine 97Wh model GPM03 for 116 USD. This model is compatible with the XPS 9550 and 9560.

I am using my dell xps 15 9550 with 2 external monitors... both are 24' and 1920x1200 display. If i were to get a 27' or 28' or 32' monitor with 4k display, i can use it with my laptop right? Thus one of them 4k monitor, the other 1920x1200 side by side? Now would it be possible for my xps laptop to connect to 2 monitors that are 4k monitors using my hdmi cable and the thunderbolt port? These are the 2 ports i currently use with my 2 monitors. Or you need stronger video card for that?

I know if one wants to connect 3 monitors... they need to buy a separate product.

You using the 97wh now? How many hours can you get out of it doing intensive things?

You have to know that HDMI port on 9550 is limited to 4K at 30Hz, not good to work with. On the thunderbolt port you can have an adaptater that manage 4K at 60Hz but it is not all adaptater, you have to check before buy it.

I suggest you to use 2 qhd 27" IPS or VA monitor, native 4k is very small.

You can mix one monitor 4k with another 1080p, side by side, but IMHO not very pleasant to use (different pitch, different color, etc), you buy a first monitor and you try before buying the second !
You can connect a 3rd monitor with a USB to hdmi/displayport/vga adaptater but I'm not sur you can have more than 1080p.

Well, it is not easy to give a general statement about the endurance of my 97wh during work. I would say between 5 to 6 hours of generic office or coding work. For heavy usage I’m always connected to power.

By any chance you have the link or site that you bought your 97wh battery from? I believe you said got it from switzerland where you are from?

If you used it on heavy usage, you probably get three hours most likely at the most right?

I assume you connect your laptop to external monitor (s)?

Hi. Well right now i have two monitors and one uses the hdmi port on my laptop and the other uses the thunderbolt port.

What is ghd? So that resolution is which for ghd? Is it 2560x1440?

    I want to get the 27' or 28' 3840 × 2160 resolution.

But you are saying if i use the thunderbolt port with a new 27' or 28' 3840 × 2160 resolution screen.... while still connect my other monitor as is to the hdmi port on my laptop... that would work though right? Thus one monitor is 3840 × 2160 and the other is 1920x1200? But it won't be pleasant to look to look at?

But if the 27' or 28' 3840 × 2160 looks good... could i get another same one and have them side by side or not? Thus the other cable would be using my hdmi port on my laptop... or that won't work?

    Here‘s the link https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/dell-gpm03-6zellen-notebookakku-8849900

For heavy usage I‘m always on Connected to power. Connected to a 30“ monitor. Never tried with battery only.

    QHD is 2560x1440 yes.
ok, your choice, but remember a very important thing, resolution is not everything when we talk about monitor (LCD technology, color settings, view angles, pitch, refresh rate).

Yes two 4k monitor will work side by side but one, on HDMI port, will be limited to 30Hz (normal monitors are at 60Hz) and the other on thunderbolt port, will be 30Hz or 60Hz, it's depends if you buy a good hdmi adapter (watch in adapter description before to buy it, examples : 60Hz adaptater, 30Hz adapter).
On 30Hz monitor, mouse movments look jerking

two monitors, 3840 × 2160 on thunderbolt adapter 60Hz, and 1920x1200 on HDMI, will work well. But, couldn't be very pleasant because of change of pitch, LCD technology and software not handling different Display Scaling, etc.

Hi there. Well resolution is very important for what i do though. 1920x1200 is the absolute minimum resolution in what i do. But i notice if i get 3840x2140, that would be much better.

But my monitor... it could still handle 2 monitors 3840x2160 is what my main question is.

I just know from reading that 3 monitors would require me to get those other things.

Also my xps 9550 recently whenever i turn it off... it has taken a very long time to turn off. Anyone have this issue? Few times i had to power it off by pressing and holding power button because after i click shut down... it doesn't power off. Note... i always have it connected to 2 monitors so when i click shut down, both monitors turn off... and then my laptop powers off few seconds later. Now it takes a very long time.

But not only that... the last few times when i turn my laptop on, after i enter my bitlocker pin... you don't see the windows login screen. Again i am connected to my monitors. You are able to move the mouse though. I then had to power it off by pressing and holding power button to turn it off. Then turn it back on... then i see the bitlocker password and enter it... then enter my password for windows login screen. Anyone having these issues? I remember a while back i had the same issue. Usually computer turns on/off no problem.

Hey all. So recently, my 9550 has lot of issues when using it. I mainly use it to play online poker and have lot of tables opened and use program that uses ram/cpu. But my computer has been good enough to use it without much lag.

Recently, few times already, when im playing and also playing youtube music... you would hear and see the system lag when music is playing and then it would close a program and after waiting some seconds, it would then work. But i notice the sound would be using my laptop as oppose to one of my 2 monitors. Previously this never happened.

But not only that, when i am just opening chrome tabs and using it, this happened once. I then notice i got the windows update restart and just did it. Previously i had this message and just shut it down and turned on as usual. Now do these recent windows 10 updates cause this? Again, my computer when using it... i never encountered this. Laptop is i5-6700hq processor with 8gb ram.

Also i notice many things like .net optimization service would show heavy cpu usage... once that goes back to low... something else like windows malicious software tool removal would show high cpu usage etc.

Does anyone know why im having these issues?

I had this laptop for a few years already. Not long ago, when i was playing online poker, that is what I do mostly on it, I notice there was like a stuttering sound and when this happens, my 2 monitors connected to laptop stutters with the sound and many times even closes the program.

But I notice when i play youtube videos, this happens as well.

I saw a video on youtube where someone mentioned this issue a while back where the issue is like this sound around the 12 second part. Now the thing is the stuttering that I have, it usually a few seconds at least and not just one second like on this video.

My concern at first was... is it because my laptop is not that fast and im doing a lot of things on it?

    I5-6300HQ processor
    8gb ram

Also everytime when i log into my windows 10 pro computer after putting in my bitlocker pin and windows password and log in... i always keep getting the same message with aero glass for win8.1+ not compatible. I had this message for years and never did anything about it, i just click close and do my thing. Now could this have anything to do with this? I ask this because once when my laptop had the stuttering issue when i was playing poker, not only did my poker program closed, but it then got to the same win8.1 not compatible error message that i see on the screen... which i only get everytime i start my laptop.

Now does anyone know what is this issue called? Is it studdering or latency? Now is there risk of damage to laptop when this sound happens? It has happened a few days daily and it freaks me out.

In the youtube video, it say to remove 2 programs with Dellassist and that solves the issue. When i check my programs, i don't see Dellassist anywhere though. So what do i do here? Also recently i had to do a windows update as i saw that message when it say you need to do a windows update. Could that have anythign to do with this?

I would recommend if you haven't already to do a clean windows 10 install and install only the Dell drivers/utilities you think you need.

I don't want to do a clean windows 10 install. I have lot of things on it...

Im wondering if windows updates must have started this issue?

I agree with Fant, doing a clean install usually resolves a lot of issues and is typically the answer given to issues like these. If you're not willing to do that, the next best thing would be taking it to a computer shop or someone knowledgeable with computers so they can actually look at it to see what's going on.

It would be nearly impossible to help you diagnose the issue through here. Yes, Windows Update could have caused this issue, but there are a million other things that could have caused it as well.

I know that it doesn't help at this point, but that is the reason why it is wise to regularly create system images of your computer when everything is working properly. That way, if something goes wrong, there is no need to re-install the operating system or to have to spend hours trying to figure out what went wrong.

I create a new system image at least once per month, and there have been a fair number of times being able to re-image my computer with a system image has saved me from having to spend hours dealing with issues in other ways.

Should I get the latest xps? I always thought of upgrading since the 9560 but I always had 2nd thoughts. Now another xps is out... I'm into simple office files, movies and games like Civilization and Sekiro. Should I stick with my 9550 or I'm missing a lot?

Okay so in the last few weeks, my computer has been crashing a ton and this is when im playing poker online. Rarely did this happen much.

So my assumption has to be its the Dwm.exe which is causing this? Many times already when playing, my computer would crash where my monitors would off for a short while and then i see that message dwm.exe aero glass for win8.1 + incompatibility issue. This message shows up every single time i turn on my laptop for the last 3 plus years... i just ignored it. When i turn on my laptop everytime, i first get that message, then get that classic shell needs to configure itself. So basically i have to close both each time i turn on my laptop. I never did anything about it.

But then i read the dwm.exe is related to high cpu which i have a lot when playing online poker... previously i never had this issue. So how do i fix this? How do i get rid of the dwm.exe issue? I can't have my computer keep crashing multiple times when im playing poker as this is very annoying. I also had to install many windows updates recently as few times i notice on the bottom right it say windows need to install updates. So how do i fix this issue? Also im not sure if this is related or not... but i haven't updated adobe flash in a long time. Could this be related? My computer uses way too much memory and crashes so much now. Also you hear the fan a lot as well when playing poker when previously it didn't had this issue. Im guessing this has to be related to the windows updates? But how i get rid of that dmw.exe? I only have 8gb ram though... but processor is i5-6300hq... laptop has been for few years already. Also i use windows 10 pro.

Anyone with windows 10 can tell me how to solve the dwm.exe issue?

Do i uninstall aero glass 8.1+ for windows... then go to www.glass8.eu and downloaded the updated aero glass? I like the glasslike look on the borders of windows tables which is why i downloaded aero glass a long time ago.

    Wi-Fi 6 on a #DellXPS15 9550 with a Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 non vPro (M.2 A Key, M.2 E Key) is like couchsurfing on steroids

Has anyone ever tried to use a usb-c 100w Power Delivery outlet to charge a 9550 laptop ?

I bought such power supply for various USB c devices and when I use it on 9550, the BIOS only detects a 60w charger.
I was suspecting a cable issue so I bought another one but still only 60w detected.

Is that a laptop limitation ? I guess not as dock can load up to 130w.
