    There is a big review at notebookcheck about this new model. As i forcasted, forget the 6 core I7! Even the i5 variant throttling;

    "We did not notice any signs of heavy throttling of the SoC, but we wonder how the six-core system will deal with this cooling system if we are already reaching temperatures of just under 100 °C (~212 °F) with our quad-core Core i5"

    I even go further now, if you buy the I7 model you will get general slower system than with I5. It is beacause the 6 cores will throttle below 3Ghz, while the 4 Core model will be able to do frequency close to 4GHz.

    My results showed otherwise, surprisingly.

    By otherwise you mean an i7 that ran cooler than expected with performance nearing what Intel promised?

    Yeah. Cinebench loop showed minimal throttling and 20 minutes of unigine loop didn't throttle (8 minutes did it on my 9560).

    Lol looking at my i7 9560 and just shaking my head

    Well it's good to see that the i7 is melting the XPS, I also wondered what might happen with the i7 and i9 right after reading that paragraph from Notebookcheck

    Any direct comparisons between the i9 and i7 versions? Links to benchmarks/stress tests or feedback from owners.
    Does the i9 throttle or get really hot (stock without undervolt or repaste)?

    While I don't have any benchmarks or anything I can answer your question. My i7 gets really hot and throttles especially when stock so an i9 will do it too.

    Well that's very sad news. It's safe to assume that the i9 will throttle even more. Probably be just slightly better than the i7 in the XPS due to the chassis.
    Thanks for your response

    if the i5 is throttling under CPU stress... pff. Hopefully undervolting is still option!

    Who's tried the HDMI 2.0 port? Do you get 4k @ 60 output or?
