the title says custom ISO and a few lines in it says "My ISO" so I am not sure what else I should add to point out the obvious.
Links or not to this post you have still taken my ISO without permission and hosted it, I wouldn't have a problem if you had at least mentioned me! -

After upgrading to RS2, I continue to get the following notification of "Your computer needs to be restarted in order to setting up device" for "STMicroelectronics 3-Axis Digital Acceleromete" and "NVMe THNS..." I know the latter refers to my Toshiba NVMe drive but do not know what the former refers to. Why do I continue to get this notification? I don't see any question mark from Device Manager. Do I need to install other device drivers? Thank you.

If you want a vanilla win 10 just do it the official way. http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209
You may need the Raid/AHCI drivers to see the drive with the official ISO, It may have them burnt in already but as I havn't used it I can't promise so it will be worth having the files ready in a folder on the USB stick you use for the windows install. It is a very small file and hosted here https://mega.nz/#!0NdRAALD!-TPQLgyzR6eFqhjkTPxDTpVXHdQDOJTR8AFmpFo346w
Unzip to a folder of your choice on the USB and navigate to the folder when it says it needs additional drivers (or not depending)
You may need the wireless drivers as well. -
I used your ISO, but for some reason, I continue to get the restart notifications related to the NVMe drive and STMicroelectronics. Removing the drive from device manager did not solve the problem. Something's off.
When I install your Creator ISO, do I still need to set "Secure boot on" & "Legacy mode off"? I did not use the settings in BIOS. Otherwise I don't see where the errors come from.Last edited: Jul 28, 2017 -

So I don't need to repeat the installation after changing the BIOS setting. Yes, I have removed all partitions and recreated them for a fresh installation of the Creators edition using your ISO. Even after multiple reboots, I continue to get a multiple of the two notifications.
-
You will also need to boot into safe mode straight after the change.
I can't see that helping though.
Well strange this, you can disable the ST driver as it doesn't enable for SSD's hence it not being visible.
As for the storage controller driver, changing to raid mode may mask the issue but I get the feeling the mainboards bad and needs swapping if a clean install has the identical problems m8.
Maybe start a new thread so you get more viewers? -
I understand that I'll need to change the BIOS settings after booting into safe mode if I want to set "Secure boot on" & "Legacy mode off". But, if the settings are not associated with the notifications, I don't see a need.
I had an intermittent sleep/reboot issue, and got the motherboard and logic board replaced. But, it still didn't go away. Dell sent me a replacement XPS 15 9550 with a 4K UHD and touchscreen system, which I do not like. Before I decide a system between the two, I want to clean install the Creators edition to see if it was related to my OS or other set-ups. I always see "41 Kernel-Power system critical error". Is this potentially a sign of the sleep and reboot issue? -

I tried a clean install again using the MS Enterprise edition by loading the IRST driver. After the initial version of Win10 was loaded, Windows Updates could detect and install the Creators edition without going through the Anniversary edition. The system does not generate such notifications at this time. I'm wondering if not all XPS 15 9550 systems have the basic same components as this new installation with MS Win10 does not generate the notifications. -
Why have you installed enterprise then updated to RS2?
You should have downloaded the correct iso from microsoft and I think I linked you to it in a previous post?
Microsoft have the ISO updated to RS2 with a patch level to June (iirc)
At least you will not have to fake activation with the correct install. The Microsoft ISO will detect you home (or pro if you have the business edition) and install the correct version and activate it automatically. -
I don't know what differences there are among these many versions, but the install and update from the original MS Win10 Enterprise did not generate the notifications... -
Hi GonZ0,
Just want to thank you for this amazing ISO. You've saved my partner's XPS and mine from constant BSOD.
Unfortunately, what's weird lately is that she has higher FPS than me even though we are on the...
Same Game Visual Settings, Same GPU, Same XPS15 9550, Same GPU Firmware Version, Both plugged in with Performance instead of Balanced. We're running 1920x1080p intead of 4K.
She pulls 40-60fps and I pull 20-40fps.
Would you have any idea what's going on? -
-
Just got my XPS booted up on a fresh install of your iso, Cheers GoNz0! Had to download some drivers for the audio as others have said. Is there a list of other essential drivers I need or can anyone recommend any? loading of online pages seems a little unreliable. Thanks in advance guys!

If you have a laptop that came with a pro licence it will automatically install the key for you and activate, if you have a home licence and installed pro you will obviously need to buy one

@gonzo: I found this on another thread. You mentioned: "The Dell ISO is fine for most people since the creators update, how long that lasts is another story with Dell's track record."
May I ask about dell's history a bit?
I'm following your work over this thread as I look for ways to stabilize my laptop. Yes, I'm still working on it.
I'm still a rookie when it comes to laptops. the XPS 15 is my first laptop, unfortunately, happens to give me a lot of headaches since March 2017. Despite all of the issues I encountered, I'm still determined to make it work the way it was when I bought it last April 2016.
That time it was really smooth, even I updated it to the Anniversary edition when it first came out it was doing perfectly fine. I didn't encountered the bugs and glitches and errors I've read about it until March of this year came, when I updated to Windows 10 Home Version 1703.
I'll try to contact Dell after the weekend. See what they can provide.
Thanks. -

And Windows update tends to put an older unstable Intel video driver on.

Hi, I assume US and GB are US version and a Great Britain version? Or am just dumb? LOL Which do I want?

installed this for my dell 9550 (finally!).
The only driver i had to manually install was the nvidia driver and the audio driver.
Sadly the dell driver detector doesnt work well anymore. But that was a nice thing to have.
Thanks for this installer! -
I didn't have to install any additional drivers at all, is that normal? Do I need to manually install nvidia drivers for the GPU? -

Creators fall update is hitting the interweb in about 6 weeks, I expect to do a refreshed ISO for the 9560 when it lands.

I'm looking, like many other people that end up finding this thread, for a good & fast way to reset my 5960.
I mean no offense - but after reading tens of pages of this thread:
What is the advantage of your ISOs over :
- setting up a flash drive using windows' media creation tool;
- have it install windows;
- let windows automatically download and install drivers?
Also; what is your opinion of these threads (as they offer similar solutions, and I can't decide which to choose):

Thanks for your efforts, in case I end up using your work!

As pointed out it is the minimum needed to get you installed and online for Windows update to take over. And for me personally I find stability using newer Intel ahci/raid drivers that windows doesn't update. And before the rs2 release without those windows wouldn't see the nvme drive. It will probably be redundant with the October refresh as the hardware had been out long enough for Microsoft to have caught up so I expect it will be the last one I make.
As for the other guides, can't say I have the need to read them.

Thx for your reply. I now see what drove you to make them. -
Any demand for this to continue with RS3?
It's out tomorrow, I installed it last night but never checked if vanilla installs would read the NVMe drives as I put the latest RST drivers on and enough to get me online. Windows update took care of everything else once online.
I assume it will workUndervolt92 likes this. -

RS3 update based on the following
16299.15.170928-1534.rs3_release_CLIENTCONSUMER_RET_x64FRE_en-gb.esd
16299.15.170928-1534.rs3_release_CLIENTCONSUMER_RET_x64FRE_en-us.esd
Included version.
Home, Single Language, Pro, Education.
UK/US Iso's
Just read the 1st post and the link to RS2 to gather the basics. Again this is a stripped back install, it has the following drivers
64bit Intel RSTe AHCI & RAID drivers v15.8.1.1007 WHQL (also for the boot loader)
64bit Samsung NVMe driver v2.2.0.1703 WHQL for Win10 x64 (This will only install if you have a Samsung NVMe)
Updated fingerprint reader not not on the 9560 page, dated 05/24/2017, version 5.01.3223.0026 (I used this to try and get around the old driver causing the "something went wrong" error trying to login)
Intel video 22.20.16.4815 (you will have to disable this from being updated or roll back when it does)
Stock HID driver
Killer 08/21/2017,12.0.0.428
Intel proset 20.0.2 (for those who swapped out the killer card)
Thermals 2996
The majority of questions have been answered already, this will be my last release as it is borderline pointless now as windows 10 has come on enough to (probably) work with a standard download and maybe some wifi drivers.
