alright i just got off dell chat and the dell rep is going to send me the earbuds as for the cd case and cleaning cloth, i have to call 1-800-624-9897. When i called they again said the cleaning cloth and cd case wasn't listed in the order and directed me to a sales rep so i just hung up. Should i try again to get the cd case and cleaning cloth?

So this is what's happened so far:
I started a chat with a sales rep, and I described my situation to them by asking them if it's true that XPS M1530's come with a cleaning cloth, CD case, laptop sleeve, and Creative earphones. This was part of our conversation:
SALES REP: Well, they used to, but we recently stopped offering those along with it. You do still get the media remote, but not the cloth or earbuds. The Sleeve and CD case I am not sure about.
ME: Is there any reason why?
SALES REP: None that I have been told.
Well that came as a surprise to me. Anyways, I continued by telling him that I received my XPS with only the sleeve and the remote, and that one of my co-workers ordered the M1530 as well, and hereceived the same items as I did, but that he called Dell up and received a $50 card in compensation for his "missing" accessories. The sales rep told me this was not in his power and redirected me:
SALES REP: Me, no. For something like that, you would need to contact customer care at: 1-800-624-9897 option 4
I think I actually chose #3 (whichever one talked about faculty, student, and EPP's). Then I kept hitting zero to talk to an agent. I kept describing my situation (this time I changed the co-worker story to a sales rep promising the accessories upon delivery). Anyway, I kept being redirected until I finally got the right department (no idea which department).
Finally it seemed like I might get something. Again, I described my scenario, and I gave him the order #. I was only asking for the Creative earphones and cleaning cloth. He said that my order didn't say that it was coming with either of those, then he asked me for my address (w00t). He put me on hold for a few minutes (I started to type this) to do some research, and he sent me the Creative earphones (he couldn't find the cleaning cloth). YES. I told him that the earphones were fine, but I asked if he could send me some sort of mouse because he couldn't send me the cleaning cloth. He asked if mine came with one (it didn't), and so I said no. He put me on hold for a few more minutes to send me a USB mouse (no idea what it looks like). All this, with redirecting and holding, took about an hour. The earphones I should be getting next week, but the mouse is going to take as long as the 15th to ship (although he said it should come sooner). SUCCESS. Hope you guys have the same luck.
EDIT EDIT: well after a few e-mails, I was able to replace the earphones + mouse with some nice Sony noise-cancelling headphones! SUPA -
Anybody who is being told that you need to order a "special configuration" or your configuration wasn't "eligible" DO NOT GIVE UP. I talked to 4 different people who told me the same thing until I got a decent person who asked her supervisor. I will be getting a $75 coupon

alright heres the deal, you guys have to call and find a nice sales rep that will be willing to help you out, when i got to my rep and he was very nice, he even ordered a 1330 and a 1530 himself so he checked his order and the accessories were NOT listen in the order number so if customer care says it wasn't in the order number and we can't send them to you, speak with a sales rep to deal with things, then if you're lucky, they will redirect you to a a higher department where problems can't be solved and give you an alternative. GL guys ^^

Well... Just for the record: today I've recieved my XPS M1530 without the extras (CD case, earbuds, cleaning cloth). I've immediatley e-mailed my CSR (I've been in contact with him for some time now) and this is what he replied:

I got mine from Dell UK in November last year. Can I be smug and say I got all the accessories - slip case, leather binder/cd case, xps branded cleaning cloth, creative ear buds. Was a nice surprise at the time.

i just received my m1530 on AUG 5th, everything work flawlessly, accept i have 3 missing items
:the earbuds, XPS carrying case (those 2 are what I must have) and the cloth.
when I called 1-800-624-9897 tried to get those things, the rep said there are no longer come with the m1530 since March, and they wont send me anything. I knew he was juz lying cuz my brother just get a m1530 a month ago, and he just got everything that supposed to come with the laptop.
so... what should i do now, I want to get what i paid for... -

I just had a heated discussion with a couple of CS reps at Dell about the lack of earbuds, CD case, and cleaning rags. They basically said, "sorry, oh well". I told them I'd like to return my PC if they won't honor their promotions, and they finally transferred me to resolutions. The resolution rep said, "the promotion ended a couple of weeks ago", and I informed him that I ordered my computer over a month ago. After a lot of haggling and a real arrogant attitude on the resolution rep's side, he finally offered me a $50 gift card. I said for $75, I'd be happy. He agreed. End of story. What a pain in the butt Dell has become.

That sucks. Everyone is still getting the remote though right? That is the main thing I care about. All that other stuff would be cool to get and I am going to try but I would never actually use the case since I have a laptop backpack and I have a few nice pairs of headphones and the CD case and cleaning rags would just sit around the house anyway.

i would suggest check your order or quotation first. if things are not there then demand for the accessories and then only place order. i got disappointed where there is no sleeve cover for my M1330 and now cant do anything.

Does anyone have a Part number/SKU number for XPS branded notebook sleeve. I did not get it with mine. The customer resolution team called me and if I could tell them the part number they said they will look it up and send it to me. FYI, the promotional kit has a Part number: JU563. I did not get this either

OK I finally decided to call since I felt like I was being blown off by my original salesman via email. Sounded like a very nice Indian lady. First she told me my order is delayed because of the LED which is funny since my salesman told me it was because of the 6 cell battery and they had them now and also because people on here that ordered theirs after mine with an LED already got theirs. So she upgraded me to overnight shipping and claims she sent a request to the manufacturer to expedite my order. After that I asked her about the accessories and explained how everyone used to get them but lately some people haven't been getting them but my salesman told me I would and asked if she could see that on the order anywhere. She put me on hold for about 5+ minutes and came back and told me she was sending me an $80 laptop bag with wheels. I have no use for that so I asked if I could just get a gift certificate instead and she said she could give me a $75 one so I said OK. I hope I at least get the remote because it is not listed on my invoice although it seems like everyone is at least still getting that but I seem to have the worst luck. I didn't really want the case, CD holder, cleaning cloth, ear buds anyway so a $75 gift card will be nice if I already have the remote. Maybe I can use it to buy a new N router or something. Now I just have keep waiting for the laptop.

Leather CD case wasn't a need any ways, cleanning clothe would have been nice tho. No earphones BTW. -
I ordered a red m1530 a couple of days ago and I have two questions:
1). How do I know that the accessories are coming with my system or not?
2). Can the Product red be returned within the first 21 days of purchase? -
They will show on your order. You will not be getting them. They don't send them out anymore. I don't see why Product RED would be any different for returns and it is 21 days from invoice date.

I got mine today and it only has a remote in it and that is it nothing else
..................it is product red and even the windows is the same as anyone else's. What about the windows red???????? Is there supposed to be any difference between product red and the other colours because I did not notice a single difference between the windows..

i'm receiving my XPS laptop soon and among the accesories, the only one i'm really needing will be the sleeve -
Mine is supposed to arrive at my house today in the US, im hoping to get all of the accessories, but like u the only things i really care about are the sleeve and remote but ill post what i got as soon as it arrives. Another thing, a few days ago right around the time it was just shipping from dell i decided to email a dell service rep and i said people have been reporting not getting the items anymore and i told him i was hoping to get them seeing as i was told originally it came with them and the person responded saying when the item arrived just respond to the email stating which items werent with it so hopefully that means they will send them anyway or at least a gift card like some people have gotten. With $75 dollars i could buy a nice case for it and a wireless mouse or something.

good luck... dell was pretty rude with me when asking about the items... I felt like I was talking to a robot.. In all 3 emails they just told me to contact Dell Sales to purchase the items.. Here is a copy of the emails sent and received to Dell CS:

i'm getting my m1530 this week as well. when i asked the sales rep who was handling my case whether or not these accessories would come with the computer, he said they would. i made him PROMISE that they would.
if they don't come with the computer and dell doesn't offer any sort of compensation, isn't that technically an illegal sales tactic or a bait and switch? dell was sued for bait and switch practices (concerning their customer service, i believe) a few years ago and they lost a considerable amount of money...
if i don't get the accessories (which is the most probable outcome), i'm definitely going to be talking to someone about it. -
I can truly care less about a pair of headphones and etc... but I truly care about being lied to.. I'll be giving them a call tomorrow.. although I might have to hire an interpreter so we can communicate effectively.. the main reason I prefer using email support.. -

Hi. I don't know if this will help anyone but I found my cloth and laptop case today with their original packaging which has s/n numbers on them, I think. Here are the numbers just in case they are useful to anyone. The cloth is rn 857 xps wipe cloth and the case is dp/n ONW262 and then CN-ONW262-72373-81L-5340. Again, I have no idea if the numbers will mean anything to Dell's system but if someone wants to try, they are there!

thanks, ill have to tell the dell rep those numbers next time they reject me, maybe with some real numbers i can get something done. They keep responding saying "sleeve" and "earbuds" and "cd case" in that way like they are mocking me for not giving the official names of them.

I have a question. I ordered the XPS m1330 through the member purchase program and i got the computer (obviously) and the remote but no extra stuff like the slave (which can come in handy)
Do i go on the live chat and tell them about it? Do i call them and ask em to send me the sleeve or something or am i pretty much out of luck in this situation?

this is after 3 emails arguing that the items are XPS specific items and u cant just go and buy most of them and even if you could i shouldnt have to because i paid good money for my XPS laptop i deserve the accessories that come with it. They also sent me a coupon book for Staples and every coupon in the book expires in a week and i just got the laptop yesterday, whats up with that? and when i ask them about that the email person responded twice with the exact same email saying talk to staples, like staples is going to do anything, they didnt issue the coupons dell did they should send more updated ones. -
anyone having more luck with phone reps? since xps owners get premium support would it be better to call that than emailing general customer service like i had been?
