    Hi Dave,

    I would suggest nagging your customer rep to expedite your order. I made a good few calls to voice my frustration with Dell and the continued delays. They then mentioned that my order has been approved for higher priority - good luck!

    Have rang three times and it had allegedly been expedited twice, looks like more calls in order this week.

    Seems to be pot luck on the quality of English speaking adviser you get as well.

    Would also appreciate your thoughts on the screen when you get it after reading some of the comments on here.

    Coming from a 3 year old budget 17 inch Acer so expecting great improvements to what im used to.

    Not one email received, emails to support say order has been expedited (this is before the order was cancelled!). Will try another email.

    Looks like my XPS 15 will be delayed as well :( (I am in Australia).

    I ordered back on November 11. My order status was "Work in progress" with an EDD of 1 December 2010, but I just checked the Dell site this morning and the order status now says: "We have received your order. It may take up to 3 business days for your estimated delivery date to be available". So it looks like they have cancelled my order and reordered :(

    Zarr suggested in another thread that the 6300 wifi was not compatible with lid design art, however I was able to order back on 11 November and include both those things. My guess is probably the 6300 has held things up. If I dont receive an email by late this afternoon, I might flick an email to the lady I ordered through and see where things are at and why the delay. Will let you know.

    Order has gone from 'In Production' back to 'Order Received' again, no EDD - More delays!

    Did get a reply to an email I sent off explaining that there were parts shortages which means the order is not valid, must be re-placed an so on, all standard procedure - no explanation to what parts they were short on.

    I ordered mine on 11/06 and it finally shows that it's shipped, but there's no tracking number... I called this morning to see if they even had a tracking number available, and I was told it was an error in their system and to check back in 24-48 hrs... Shows an estimated delivery of 12/03... So who knows at this point...

    Are you able to access the invoice to get the waybill number? I know if it ships UPS, the tracking # is 1Z followed by the waybill. Fedex is a little more complicated. I would have to check later and reply if it shipped FedEx.

    The system in my sig is supposed to ship out today. Still no change from in production, and the edd is still tomorrow... at what point during the day does an order typically show up as shipped?

    my order has shown 'shipped' state 8 hours after I already held it in my hands =) . You can call support line and it will provide you with latest data

    Well then there's still hope! I called my rep at customer care, and I got the same line he's given me the past 5 days... "it's in the final stages of production and is currently undergoing quality control..."

    Thanks for the numbers. According to the recorded voice, my laptop was shipped on December 6. :D Back to the future. ;) The online status of the order is still In Production. It's only been in that status eight or nine days, but it's hard to be patient.

    I got the psychic order status hotline as well.

    Say's mine was shipped on November 26th and received on November 29th,
    which is my scheduled EDD date.

    Right now is November 22nd at 7:42pm. :)

    My order showed modified but not cancelled on Nov.19, which was the stimated second edd after the first order was modified. I called dell today to find that it had been cancelled. I'd to swallow my pride and accept to create other order with edd Dec. 15 - 20, because I payed with bank deposit and missed all the local retailer's offers. If things go right, I'll receive my laptop two months after I made the order.

    I wished I had bought that Toshiba that I had checked before ordered this dell :mad: .

    It just went to shipped status and has a FedEx tracking number! It shipped today from New Jersey. I chose 7-day shipping, but it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow. :D

    Only bad thing was that I was planning to go shopping tomorrow (in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S.). Now, I'll have to stay home and wait for the delivery. Not that I'm complaining!

    The exact same thing happened to me. I'm prety upset about it but.. I need the computer and the money is already there. I'm not very optimistic on the date because it's near to xmas... well maybe someday I'll have my new laptop.

    Checked mine a while ago.... it has been shipped.

    I followed the Tracking number on the Fedex site and it left the
    Chicago Facility at 12:12am this morning and is scheduled
    to be delivered to my house tomorrow.

    Well, mine has been showing shipped since Nov. 18th, and there still isn't a tracking number. Still says NA on the site. I've called and it tells me the same thing... Good grief... How long did it take for the site to show fedex tracking number for you guys that finally got a tracking number?

    Made phone call got it bumped up: November 23rd, 2010
    Third EDD: Bumped back to November 29, 2010 by DELL
    Actual ship date: November 22, 2010

    well I just called Dell and the rep told me the same old story about the engineering problems, but he said that they have resolve it and that in a few hours my system should be in production again and that it now has priority. So it seems that the engineering hold is gone...

    I ordered an XPS 17 on 26/10. The initial EDD was 22/11. A week ago it was delayed until 29/11....and now it has been delayed a second time until 10/12. If it's delayed one more time I'm cancelling and going somewhere else.

    Was supposed to receive mine yesterday... big surprise... no computer! Got an e-mail yesterday morning saying that my order had been delayed and the new EDD was November 30. Called Dell Customer Care and the rep indicated it was in production and should be completed in three business days. But then she informed me that the whole XPS series has a 45 day delay, not sure what that means, but I'm sure hoping they make the new EDD.

    If it is 45 days, then the ship dates shouldn't still be showing December. I just don't like the randomness of turnaround time. From four days to months.

    Looks like the culprit may be the 6300 availability. I have an EDD for Nov 25, but received an email from Dell yesterday advising that delivery has been delayed. No new EDD was given.

    That's what I was thinking, but I asked two different reps to look into the delay and see if there were any parts on backorder. Both of them insisted nothing was backordered, but I'm not convinced. Would be nice if they let us swap out the wireless card for the 6200 so we could get our computers sooner. I don't care that much about the wireless card, and would rather have the 6200 if it meant getting my order on time...

    Yes, it would be great if they could detail to us, what was back-ordered and make changes as required. Sounds simple, but perhaps for a large corp. like Dell, not practical. Don't know.

    I suspect the 6300 also, because it is no longer offered (and hasn't been for quite a while) as an option on most Dell sites around the world.

    Apparently, everything is looking fine for me! The new re-revised EDD is sooner than the original EDD and revised EDD :)
