I bought a 97 whr battery on ebay for US$130 and it just arrived. I already sold my xps 15 though. If anyone is interested in buying at cost, let me know. I know I spent too much on it.

May have been asked before but does the 97Kwh battery work on the 9550?

I have an XPS 15 9550 and the existing 84Whr battery has a lot of wear and has bloated up. Where did you buy the 97Whr battery? I can't seem to find it online anywhere and I definitely need a new battery.

I bought it from eBay from a seller in Hong Kong. I'll sell it at cost if you're interested

Where do you guys buy 84 whr battery for a reasonable price? Have a defective battery in my Xps 9550, after 15 month of use. How do i know same won't happen with the replacement battery? Any suggestion?
    Thanks

Hound Dell to replace it under warranty as it shouldn't have done that in 15 months.

Called Dell out of warranty services, but they won't honor it. They also said they don't have any 84 whr battery in stock even if I want to pay for it!! I asked for a manager, but the guy said (lied?) that his manager is also saying they can't do anything.Should I contact another department within Dell?

May as well. And the 97wh fits the 9550.

I ordered the 97whr battery from a laptop battery shop online from China and it got caught up at Canadian customs. Ordered it June 15th and now they can't seem to find where in Customs it's stuck. There has to be an easier way to get replacement batteries for these laptops.

I will never buy a Dell again... this laptop, for almost $3k is a complete disaster. The fact Dell won't acknowledge the issue of swelling batteries and do some sort of recall or replacement is insane to me. So many people are suffering from this issue - I almost feel like going to the press with this... LOL

Anyways, does anyone know of a viable place to order a replacement battery? My touch pad is now useless... Battery swelling is making it impossible to use.

I am surprised that dell does not offer replacement batteries and we have to all resort to eBay.

I'm done with this laptop. I'm going to order a replacement battery and put the laptop for sale. Now I'm just debating between the HP Spectre x360 15T, Asus Zenbook UX430UQ or the Lenovo Yoga 910 (hate the bezel at the bottom on this one).

If you think Dell supports bad just wait until you have a problem with an Asus product.

They do offer batteries, it seems you need to jump through hoops to get the right support person to be able to buy one.

Think I've decided on the HP Spectre but just need to decide on whether to go with the 13 or 15 inch. Love them both for different reasons.

Hahaha. That was good. Lol. On a serious note, any opinion on whether I should go with 13 or 15?

Personal preference ... 13" will be lighter but same resolution so smaller dpi .. 15" will be easier on the eyes and prob bigger battery

No one can suggest what you want and it sounds like you have a reason for both but have to make the choice. Me, I would go with the 15 but it will be bigger than this Dell due to the large border around the screen, Dell XPS 15" is really a 14" chassis so it is your call :(

Then again I am not looking for portability, I do like a light quiet laptop but in reality it is sat in the lounge always plugged in so the bigger screen size does it for me. I only take it out the house 2 or 3 times a year to go on holiday as I have to have something to do when everyones in bed as i'm a night owl!

I have an old 15" laptop for the messy jobs like working on the car with a guide, I wouldn't dream of taking this and balancing it on an engine block

Ended up getting the Spectre 15 inch today. So far, way better keyboard, not even close and the track pad is very surprisingly smooth considering it's not synaptic.

Once I can get my hands on a replacement battery for my xps 15, will put it on the market for sale.

Hi, only recently I came across this thread. I have one 56Whr battery RRCGW from my 9550 left. It has only 8 charging cycles but was manufactured almost 2 years ago. I bought my 9550 rather late, at the beginning of this year (for a good price) and upgraded the battery to the 86Whr model.

If someone is interested, just contact me. I'd like to sell this battery for 60€/70$ excluding shipping (from Germany).

My original offer with pictures (it's in German, sorry!):

You would need to plug it in and check the wear level, my (unrelated to Dell) laptop had a battery on for 3 years, 6 cycles then dropped to 70% wear level as it spent it's life plugged in.

Ok, assumed that I did that already: It tells me 94% health. The most detailed info I get, is from the embedded diagnosis tool:

    https://imgur.com/a/G2MVH

Is there another way to check? Most time since manufacturing, the battery was powered off with ~50% charge and lied on the shelf.

6% wear leveling then, a very healthy battery!

Stick it in the for sale section to keep things above board, post a link here and I expect it will sell very fast.
