Go to this page and type in your service tag, select "drivers & downloads", select "find it myself". I look monthly so look at last 30 days

    http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/xps-15-9560-laptop/drivers

Optional - Older Dell drivers/BIOS are here but this includes drivers that are not applicable to your system (e.g. different screen, SSD, wifi card, etc:

    http://downloads.dell.com/published/pages/xps-15-9560-laptop.html#Drivers

Optional - you can search the Intel, nVidia, and your SSD sites for other drivers that might be better/newer also. Some of these may require some tinkering to install. Or may not install at all...

I really appreciate the reply. I've been using the same laptop for over 5 years without any issues and I don't think I've visited a Dell driver page in years. That kind of thing should not be expected with the XPS 15? Does Dell support know what they are doing and what to load? Can loading drivers make you lose data and crash a computer or is it a low risk process?

BIOS upgrades-downgrades always have a risk of forever bricking a device. Operating system and driver patchs always have some level of failure risk. The risk is relatively low but certainly not zero. I have bricked a few PDAs and laptops but recovered all of them after a bit (lot) of effort.

So I think you should always have at least one backup of all your data and programs. Windoze 10 has a recovery function that has failed me 3 times out of 3 times so there's that.

In closing, one might think twice about BIOS/driver upgrades shortly before a big exam, a thesis, or work project is due.

Is the XPS 15 different than a 6 year old Dell laptop (l720x to be precise) in terms of needing more frequent driver updates? I'm a bit confused why my computer seems to still be running well when I haven't manually updated a driver in over five years if it is such an important thing to do.

I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14. I love it, but it has been repaired under warranty 3 times in the 18 months. I live in NZ, so parts take 1-2 weeks to arrive. Dell on the other hand is next day on site, and the parts are mostly kept in country, so much faster.

I am still tempted by the 720, but I do want that 32 GB of ram, and it would be another month or 2 with a buggy computer before the 720 is available.

    Hey there,
    Got i7 FHD 16 Gb / 512 Gb.
Since around one week I get BSOD : memory page fault or critical structure corruption (last time with ntfs.sys, but previous without detail).
It happens for no specific reason (no game, no massive cpu load).
Does anyone get that kind of BSOD ?

Mine took a few hours to show up, any joy today?

As the auto update tools pants you can either do ass suggested and check the last 30 days or sign up for driver updates and get an email when a new one hits.

Do you guys know exactly if XPS 15 9560 uses Optimus or not for discrete Graphic Card nVidia 1050?

When I playback video through madVR renderer starting from Intel 630, I've noticed that the render time decreased from around 40ms to around 5ms after some time. I wonder if the working graphic card can now automatically switched to 1050 when the gpu power of integrated card is not capable enough.

I don't recall that Optimus can do automatical swichting like that.

After the clean install using dell recovery tool, I can't update the intel 630 driver manually anymore and now my chrome crashes again. I get the following error message : The folder you specifies doesn't conmtain a comptatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure its designed to work with Windows x64.

I've never had issue installing this driver before the clean re-install.

    Any ideas ?

(this is the driver I downloaded) https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...phics-Driver-for-Windows-15-45-?product=96551

Does HDMI port on XPS 15 9560 with FHD / 1080p screen
output 4K 60 hz,10 bit, etc. when laptop lid is CLOSED ?
,since the KabyLake processor is capable of 4K.
My older Dell with 720p HD screen outputss full 1080p through
HDMI to HD TV. Opening and closing that lid toggles the nnative resolution on the TV between 720p and 1080p from the same laptop.

Can I also find out which 512GB M.2 they've used?

Please have a read a few pages back :)
You get your service tag from the Packing Slip, which appears after shipping in the Order Status page. Service Tag doesn't populate immediately. Once it is there, you can go to Support and check the original configuration.

The only clue you get is if a firmware update shows up for the liteon or toshiba, no other drives have firmware ass you can see on this page http://www.dell.com/support/home/uk/en/ukbsdt1/product-support/product/xps-15-9560-laptop/drivers

Once you tag is used to get to the downloads it narrows it down to your SSD, so if nothing shows it could be a samsung or another make.

    Result. Shipped or engineer visit?
I shall push them for that as well.

I can deal with the RAM sticks and SSD (if it isn't Samsung) later on with DELL.

@ GoNz0 thanks for the information. It shows both Toshiba and Liteon. We'll know soon :)

Thank you for the response. I am aware that neither the 9550 nor the 9560 output
4K @ 60 hz via HMDI and require an active adaptor to do so.
I appologize if I did not ask the question clearly.
The question I am asking is whether or not a 9550 or 9560 which has the FHD , 1080p screen, would
output ANY 4K signal to a 4K monitor or 4K TV ( via HDMI connection).
Obviously a FHD 9560 screen cannot be 4K, but would an FHD configured
9560 be capable of OUTPUTING a 4K signal though its HDMI port ? even though its attached
    screen is only HD,1080p.
In other words, if you bought a 9560 FHD, and connected via HDMI to 4K TV, could you get
    a resolution of 3840 pixels × 2160 lines on that TV (4K monitor) , since KabyLake processes 4K ?
