Go to this page and type in your service tag, select "drivers & downloads", select "find it myself". I look monthly so look at last 30 days

Optional - Older Dell drivers/BIOS are here but this includes drivers that are not applicable to your system (e.g. different screen, SSD, wifi card, etc:
http://downloads.dell.com/published/pages/xps-15-9560-laptop.html#Drivers
Optional - you can search the Intel, nVidia, and your SSD sites for other drivers that might be better/newer also. Some of these may require some tinkering to install. Or may not install at all...

I really appreciate the reply. I've been using the same laptop for over 5 years without any issues and I don't think I've visited a Dell driver page in years. That kind of thing should not be expected with the XPS 15? Does Dell support know what they are doing and what to load? Can loading drivers make you lose data and crash a computer or is it a low risk process?pressing likes this. -
BIOS upgrades-downgrades always have a risk of forever bricking a device. Operating system and driver patchs always have some level of failure risk. The risk is relatively low but certainly not zero. I have bricked a few PDAs and laptops but recovered all of them after a bit (lot) of effort.
So I think you should always have at least one backup of all your data and programs. Windoze 10 has a recovery function that has failed me 3 times out of 3 times so there's that.
In closing, one might think twice about BIOS/driver upgrades shortly before a big exam, a thesis, or work project is due. -

Is the XPS 15 different than a 6 year old Dell laptop (l720x to be precise) in terms of needing more frequent driver updates? I'm a bit confused why my computer seems to still be running well when I haven't manually updated a driver in over five years if it is such an important thing to do.

Does it fit in a basic eastpak backpack? I want to buy that sleeve just to cover the laptop when inside my bag
-
What did you do to optimize latency?
-
I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14. I love it, but it has been repaired under warranty 3 times in the 18 months. I live in NZ, so parts take 1-2 weeks to arrive. Dell on the other hand is next day on site, and the parts are mostly kept in country, so much faster.
I am still tempted by the 720, but I do want that 32 GB of ram, and it would be another month or 2 with a buggy computer before the 720 is available. -
Does somebody tried the i7 7700hq with 1050 run heroes of the storm on it? in 1080p, how much fps can you get on ultra? cpu temps during it? ty!
-
Hey there,
Got i7 FHD 16 Gb / 512 Gb.
Since around one week I get BSOD : memory page fault or critical structure corruption (last time with ntfs.sys, but previous without detail).
It happens for no specific reason (no game, no massive cpu load).
Does anyone get that kind of BSOD ? -
What is your Undervolt?
-
None. I did not touch anything in the BIOS.
-
Mine took a few hours to show up, any joy today?
As the auto update tools pants you can either do ass suggested and check the last 30 days or sign up for driver updates and get an email when a new one hits. -
Unfortunately, no. I even checked the page's html code. Service tag is an empty string and some other areas are set to hidden.

Can we hook up to a gsync enabled external monitor with a tb3/displayport dongle? Does gsync work that way?

Do you guys know exactly if XPS 15 9560 uses Optimus or not for discrete Graphic Card nVidia 1050?
When I playback video through madVR renderer starting from Intel 630, I've noticed that the render time decreased from around 40ms to around 5ms after some time. I wonder if the working graphic card can now automatically switched to 1050 when the gpu power of integrated card is not capable enough.
I don't recall that Optimus can do automatical swichting like that. -

Does anybody have the UHD colour calibration file?
-
It should pick onboard or nvidia, I am not aware it can switch during, I doubt it can.
It is some form of optimus as I am sat using onboard whilst surfing according to Aida64 -
yep, can i send you in PM ?
-
Depends what you mean by basic eastpak bag.
My 9550 fits perfectly with below items:

After the clean install using dell recovery tool, I can't update the intel 630 driver manually anymore and now my chrome crashes again. I get the following error message : The folder you specifies doesn't conmtain a comptatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure its designed to work with Windows x64.
I've never had issue installing this driver before the clean re-install.
Any ideas ?
(this is the driver I downloaded) https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...phics-Driver-for-Windows-15-45-?product=96551 -
Hey everyone,
I'm planing to get this beauty in the near future for heavy audio production. Does anyone noticed DPC latency issues with this machine? -
Not with clean installed OS & drivers.
-
There are two recent DPC latency threads here...

Does HDMI port on XPS 15 9560 with FHD / 1080p screen
output 4K 60 hz,10 bit, etc. when laptop lid is CLOSED ?
,since the KabyLake processor is capable of 4K.
My older Dell with 720p HD screen outputss full 1080p through
HDMI to HD TV. Opening and closing that lid toggles the nnative resolution on the TV between 720p and 1080p from the same laptop. -
No, you should read some reviews as it has been explained multiple times on here. 4k30hz via hdmi, want more use a usb-c adapter or hub.
-
I got my service tag today. As you have mentioned, the configuration will come with 2x8GB which will enable me to request refund or the right RAM sticks.
Can I also find out which 512GB M.2 they've used? -
After 20 or so calls to both support and pro support, i got them to send me the Samsung PM961 to replace with the Toshiba SSD i got in my machine! Just to let people know, it can be done!
-
I am considering the sleeve. Which size?
-
I got this sleeve: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ACZFO1M/ref=twister_B01KSJNWFC?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It's the 13.3 one. Fits the XPS 15 9560 absolutely perfect! Amazed how nice the sleeve is. I'd highly recommend it! Just keep in mind it'll at least double the thickness of the laptop...it's got lots of padding... -
Where do you check that ?
-
Please have a read a few pages back
You get your service tag from the Packing Slip, which appears after shipping in the Order Status page. Service Tag doesn't populate immediately. Once it is there, you can go to Support and check the original configuration. -
Do you mean the 4th thing from the menu ? Sorry it's in french for me
Is it that bad boy in the JS ?
Dell.Metrics.sc.myaccount = "true";
Dell.Metrics.sc.servicetag = "";
Dell.Metrics.sc.supportsystem = "";
If so it's still not here
-
Yes, the 4th from top, the one with the box only icon.
-
Are they coming to replace ? Looking at posts it seems there's no chance I get a samsung one, it's funny how I already intend to call service support for a replacement for a laptop I haven't even received yet
-
The only clue you get is if a firmware update shows up for the liteon or toshiba, no other drives have firmware ass you can see on this page http://www.dell.com/support/home/uk/en/ukbsdt1/product-support/product/xps-15-9560-laptop/drivers
Once you tag is used to get to the downloads it narrows it down to your SSD, so if nothing shows it could be a samsung or another make.
Result. Shipped or engineer visit?
I shall push them for that as well. -
FYI there's a chipset driver update out on Intel's site... not sure it has any benefit since the last update was January but its a later version than on dell's site... might want to check it out...
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility-
Dell has version: 10.1.1.35
Intel is on version: 10.1.1.42
Looks like 1.1.35 came out on August 17, 2016..quite some time ago... -
Good news. My laptop should be here tomorrow. I will update you all with my experience
I hope everything is good.
I can deal with the RAM sticks and SSD (if it isn't Samsung) later on with DELL.
@ GoNz0 thanks for the information. It shows both Toshiba and Liteon. We'll know soon
-
Tommorow already ?! Mine comes from China, what about yours ?

Thank you for the response. I am aware that neither the 9550 nor the 9560 output
4K @ 60 hz via HMDI and require an active adaptor to do so.
I appologize if I did not ask the question clearly.
The question I am asking is whether or not a 9550 or 9560 which has the FHD , 1080p screen, would
output ANY 4K signal to a 4K monitor or 4K TV ( via HDMI connection).
Obviously a FHD 9560 screen cannot be 4K, but would an FHD configured
9560 be capable of OUTPUTING a 4K signal though its HDMI port ? even though its attached
screen is only HD,1080p.
In other words, if you bought a 9560 FHD, and connected via HDMI to 4K TV, could you get
a resolution of 3840 pixels × 2160 lines on that TV (4K monitor) , since KabyLake processes 4K ? -
How do you know how thick a thermal pad has to be? I want to add some around where the number keys 5-7 are.
Has anybody replaced the thermal pad on the PM961 and is it worth it? -
14" fits perfectly
-
Received my 9560 today. 1tb Toshiba drive for me as well. Will be talking to Dell (multiple times likely) about it.
-
My order just got shipped. Will be here on friday!
Service tag not yet updated on the packing slip but i expect it to be non Samsung considering it is the 256GB FHD model. -
Even with the laptop delivered I couldn't get the service tag from the packing slip. I was able to get it by going to Account-> My Products and then the "Find & add products" tab then search by order number.Alias likes this.
-
Thank you! Will use that to see if I can find the service tag in a while.
