i5 6300HQ, 8GB, 256GB SSD, 4K and 6 cell battery for $876 via Outlet. Received and looks like new. With the savings, I bought a 512GB 950PRO SSD.
Now I have to figure out how to use it (I'm learning NVMe isn't automatically seen).

Why didn't anyone get a student discount? or any other discounts for that matter? You basically go online to their "members and employees" program and get an automatic discount, then you can apply a coupon. Most times you can find additional promo codes. I got my i5 8gb/32gb+1Tb model form $1097 after student discount $50 and another $100 off that Dell had back in February. I also asked a rep for further discount and he gave me some extra. I also applied for Dell Advantage Rewards and got an additional $29,97. You can see it all here on my invoice. I thought it was a win because it is the $1999. Model that Dell Has right now and after Taxes you are easily looking at $1300. BUT THAT'S not all. I ended up playing with bios like a noob because I wanted to swap out the 1Tb with a 2.5 SSD. It wouldn't boot afterwards and I didn't have USB recovery so I am getting a replacement. I ended up getting an additional $85 for all this fiasco
and on top of that I noticed that Dell puts Mcafee security on all or most Dell Systems. This is $50. Again, look at my invoice or your invoice. I asked Dell about this and they say its standard but a really nice Rep took it off of this new replacement that I should be getting and wuala, another $50 bucks off. All in all I have to say I got a pretty good deal for a brand new Dell Laptop. For those of who have served, you get an additional 10% off by the way. I am not sure if I will be keeping it thought because the refurbished prices on Ebay for a larger battery, i7, and 16Gb run for about $1300 which is what I would have originally paid for mine alone. I don't want to bother with the bios anymore if I am going to upgrade one or more drives. I figured, Crucial.com has a 16GB Ram kit for about $100 (including tax/shipping) and if I decided to go for m.2 boot drive then that's another $100. So for that much more I would rather try my luck with a refurbished from Ebay. I think the word refurbished throws a lot of people off. My laptop I am sending back will never be new again even though i only had it for a few days and after reinstalling Windows I am sure it will make someone out there happy. FINALLY, Make sure to ask about the dell advantage. I am getting a $50 gift card which I plan to buy the sleeve with. TL: DR. I got a grand total of $335 off my Dell Xps. Try to look for additional discounts even though Dell.com doesn't explicitly market discounts and get student, military, teacher, etc discounts.

I got my 4k i5, 8gb, 1tb hdd/32gb cache for $1958.67CAD, regular $1999. It would of been $2300CAD with tax.

Just bought it. 4k, i7 16gb, 512 SSD for $1857 including tax inclusive of 4 years premium/accidental warranty. New model/non refurbish. Good deal much?

i7 6700HQ, 4k, 256 SSD, 16 gb ram, 6 cell battery on eBay for $1379
refurb supposedly in new condition. Hopefully it's not a box of bricks. -
I just had to return a sweet deal I supposedly got from ebay. "Certified Refurbished" is what I received but the shipping was just terribly. The laptop was thrown in a old Dell brown box with practically no support. I think this has caused major damage to the laptop. It wouldn't even boot and the few time that it did it would crash. I contacted seller asap and luckily the return/refund has been smooth and hassle free. It's on its way back to Washington and I should received my $$ back. TLR I tried buying refurbished, never again.

Scored a new XPS 15 9550 w/ i7-6700HQ, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, GTX960M, 1080p screen, Windows 10 Home for $1372. (Dell site lists it at $1829.99) I basically just price matched it to the lenovo Y700 15.6 inch. using the price match here http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/19/campaigns/price-match-guarantee#campaignTabs-0 Although you can't use any other promotions/discounts combined with this, imo this massive discount is still far better than any other haggling/discount method. The only issue is that the reps will to EVERYTHING they possibly can to prevent you from price matching a much cheaper laptop with the XPS 15. It took 2 tries for me to get a rep that was willing to do the price match.

$2,299 version (i7, 1tb SSD, 16gig RAM, 4k, loaded) from Best Buy. Was open box for $1,800, I negotiated down to $1,350 after a 10% card discount. Practically stole it.

Ok so after wanting to rip my eyes out dealing with 4 levels of "managers" I got this price:
$1600 + 5 or 10% e-gift back depending on if I finance or not, tax not included
They wouldn't give me the same $1525 for the Lenovo Y700 since its "not the same machine" despite there website contradicting them. Apparently they will only price match MacBook pros for the XPS 4k...
XPS 9550 15" i7, 16gb ram, 4K, 960m, 512ssd
That a good deal or should I go with the 2016 Razer Blade @ $2000 with 3k, i7, 970m, 16gb ram, 512ssdLast edited: Apr 18, 2016 -
Edit: oh and because of the issue i got $50 refund so it cost me 1329 which is great but it'll only be worth it after i get the screen replaced. -
$820 for my super base i3, $1305 for the i7/16GB/512SSD/1080/10 Pro/6 cell. Both refurbs from eBay still in sealed Dell boxes that still have about 11 months left on warranty.

$1870.81 for the i7, 512, 16gb, 4K + 4 year service and accidental
$1,959.11 total after taxes + 10% e-gft card back
Next Day Shipping
Probably could have been better, but happy with the 4 years of accidental on it for sure. -

Woah!!!!! This is freaking amazing!!!
Is this with tax included. More people should try this. I ultimately returned my Dell XPS. I didn't want to bother with all the annoying issues it had. Now I'm just waiting for a refund which I hear can take forever. -

I picked up a refurbished 9550 with i5, 8GB, 256ssd, 4k for $876.85 on the outlet earlier in the week. Came out to $923.71 after tax. Not bad, we'll see how the refurbished model looks when it arrives on 5/4/16.

$1500 CAD for the i3 1080 screen but after going through 2 motherboards and going through the office of the president, they offered me an free upgrade replacement to the 4k, i7, 1TB SSD, 16GB Ram.
Can't complain, went from matte screen to 4k for the same price. Dell came thru for once lol -
I need some immediate opinions asap. I'm purchasing this, hopefully beauty, one more time. I am looking at two options right now and they are:
1. -DELL-XPS-15-9550-15-6-FHD-InfinityEdge-i5-6300HQ-8GB-1TB-SSHD-GTX-960M
2. DELL XPS 15 9550 15.6" FHD InfinityEdge i7-6700HQ 8GB 256GB SSD GTX 960M
1. is going for US $938.00 and
2. is going for $1129.00
This is a $191 difference. Any thoughts? These are "certified" refurbished. I have previously bought refurbished and didn't work properly or at least I didn't take the time to look into the issues. Here is what I plan to do. Some day upgrade to 16GB or 32 GB RAM. 16GB just because it is nice and the latter would be just to throw away money. I will be buying the sata cable if I go with number two option to install a second 2.5 Drive which option 1 already has.
Here is my break down and I am having such a hard time deciding. I am upgrading from like a 6/7 year old HP Pavilion. (laughs), so any one of these would be sweet upgrade regardless. That is to say they don't have horrible issues. Seller has reasonable return/refund option so I feel confident making either purchase.
Bottom line, I am frugal with my hard earned cash. I have used my 6/7 year old laptop till now. Upgraded it with a SSD and it serves its purpose. I would love to have 1080P and 960M to casually game. I've been playing HON on integrated Intel graphics (more laughs) I need some honest feedback here. Is it truly worth the extra $191 for an i7 and 256GB SSD? (I think so). I don't care about people talking smack about the 256. 1000MB Read speeds are pretty fancy fore me. Given that my ancient laptop only has 256MB r/w speeds anyway. Both of these have the smaller battery. I am thinking of using the money I am saving on the i5 for the Ram upgrade and maybe even a M.2 Drive.
These are Certified Refurbished so I also run the ultimate risk of them just sucking and me not being happy. (don't have any value to put on this last one)
TLR i7/256GB for $1129 or i6/1TB+32GB for $938?

Welp I sold my xps for 1900 USD. Turned a 450 usd profit. We'll just build a cheap desktop with a good gpu, then scavenge the GPU once egpus are out.

Just got an i7, 16GB, 512SSD, FHD, Win 10 Pro, and 2 year warranty for $1,108.23 after tax
I was looking for an i5 version and when the rep quoted the specs for this one I figured it would cost too much... I asked for the price and he said $958.30 before tax. Gotta love the outletPkorgt likes this. -
There aren't any on the outlet website. Do you just call them?

Just got a quote for 2120 after tax for an i7 4k 512ssd plus 4 years premium support by price matching a Lenovo y700
Since the model had an original price of 2229.99 before tax and everything I think that that's not a bad deal? -
Now, I just have to wait for fedex to deliver it... -
