You using an external Display Ent3r? The 1920 is very very small text. You had to have adjusted the Font Size DPI.

its actually not to small but after a while I adjusted the font size. Mabye its just my young eyes. But yes at home I will be using my 27" "HDTV" lcd tv for gaming and stuff but this will be my portable movie player and when im stuck in the dorm a movie player there to. Plus im loving the space I have 3d programs should be fun like autodesk inventor lol and 3ds max.... The only flaw I see is getting used to this vista lol. But its interesting.

The more I hear, the more I grow wary of whether the LED screen or WUXGA was the better choice...

I've had my M1530 for all of 2 days now, not really a long time. But I do have to say I really enjoy my WUXGA screen. Its plenty bright enough and I even have the brightness turned down. I don't notice any grainyness or any issues at all with it. So you can count me into the category of having a WUXGA and liking it....

    XPS M1530 / T9500 / WUXGA / 4GB / 6-cell / Bluetooth / Intel N / 160GB 7200RPM

Hm, good choice on the screen, but I would've gotten the T9300 and then used the extra money to get the 9-cell battery; it really helps with cooling.

I was going to get the T9300, but then my company decided to kick in a bunch of money... So why not max everything out. I didn't get the 9-cell because I rarely use it on battery.

measel - my hard drive is a seagate. The larger 7200 rpm drives were back ordered and I didn't want to delay it any further. I'll upgrade to an SSD once the price drops.

I've had my m1530 for a week. I think the WUXGA's text (even with larger font) may be too small for me. Is there a way I can get Dell to send someone to replace the WUXGA screen with the 1440x900 LED screen?

Dell won't do that, and if you somehow manage to convince them to do so, it'll cost you a lot. Best thing to do would be to return your current laptop and reorder.

There is one person Ive read on the forums who have been able to get an LED display at no additional charge when they asked for a replacement. Dunno how he pulled it off, but he did.

Not sure if it's been suggested earlier but why don't you just adjust DPI to make it larger? I think the option is in Appearance or somethign like that.

Enlarging font depending on how much you do so, makes your solution smaller. So despite getting WUXGA, adjusting font size will cause it to look like a WXGA+

No problems with mine. I love the res. I had some doubts after the order. I thought it would be too small.

After playing on it, I'm glad I made this choice. I can see it fine.

With your palms on the laptop how far are you from the screen?

I guess if you have have arms of an orangutan, then this is not the resolution for you.

Damn it, guys. Seems like everyone's gonna practise "distantoperating" or sth o_O Notebook is for a close work, not to watch it from the distance You watch TV.
Can't wait to see mine WUXGA, and for a more comfortable work I'm thinking of buying one of these >> Logitech Alto Cordless. I'd like to have my screen higher and well... using lappy keyboard is a bit tiring after a few hours.

Mine did. They had a tech come to replace it and the second screen was also just as bad. It sounds like several people may have received clear screens, even from the Samsung manufacturer. I love the laptop but the grain is distracting. I'm hoping there are some out there that got clear screens and all I have to do is have them keep replacing it until I get the luck of a draw and get a clear one as well. I love the resolution but would even consider a downgrade in res to have clarity...

i received my m1530 on the 7/11. on my initial start up, i noticed the screen was very grainy. colors were very dull and i have the digital enhancement option turned all the way up to even have an OK display. i called them right away and made them send me a replacement, so hopefully that'll fix it. but other than the grainyness i love everythin about it. i've used all ranges of screen resolutions in 14" - 17" laptops and i have to say i love the 1920 x 1200 resolution. so much room for multi-taskin or just whatever. u can have multiple windows open and u will never feel like yur screen is cluttered. i changed it to 120 DPI and was fine after that. screen scales down for games or whatever nicely. dpi has no affect on the screens display

helpful hint: embed this short cut into yur brain if u'r usin a 1920 x 1200 resolution screen - Ctrl + scroll wheel up/down. :p

I had the same experience. I love the resolution and the spacing, since I do a lot of coding on the go, but the sparkles drive me nuts. I'm hoping someone can tell me that there's hope that if I keep requesting changes to the screen, I'll eventually get a good one...

I just got my M1530 with the WUXGA screen last week. My eyes were squinting pretty badly for the first few hours of usage! But now, my eyes seem to have adapted pretty well to the hi-rez screen. Personally, I don't think I would want to go back to a lower resolution after experiencing so much space I can have on my desktop :).

Seems like I got a grainy screen too, but it isn't really that distracting. I'm contented with my screen, I don't think I wanna go through all the effort just to get a replacement LCD when you would probably end up with the same kind of screen anyway.

How do I tell if I have a grainy screen. It looks a bit frosty but it is very bright and has very sharp color.

Mine has a slight grain, but it looks very good, and the images look great on it with slight tweaking. My 6000 had a better screen IMHO, but you can not go wrong, unless you can not read the screen, then go with a bigger one. This applies to any 15.4 with a 1920x1200.
