**** Info below is now redundant since these latest Bluetooth features have been included in Vista SP2! ****
Lastly, I also downloaded and installed the Windows Vista Feature Pack for Wireless: http://ftp.us.dell.com/network/MICROSOFT_WINDOWS-VISTA-SP1-_A01_R204794.EXE
This fix for bluetooth was never made avail for download by Microsoft and only given to OEM's but I managed to find both x64 & x86 versions here: ITsVISTA KB-Link: KB942567 | ITsVISTACode:This article describes the Windows Vista Feature Pack for Wireless. This software update includes the following components or features that improve wireless support in Windows Vista: Bluetooth version 2.1 support Unified Pairing user interface Windows Connect Now updates Some of these features may work with existing hardware. However, you must have new hardware to take advantage of the new functionality. This update is compatible with all versions of Windows Vista. It can be installed only on a computer that is running Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1).
After installing this hotfix, you get a new show bluetooth devices window in Vista!
Everything now sounds great over my Motorola bluetooth headset... No more pops or dropouts with this new 370 card w/improved firmware and the thing was cheap at only $10!![]()

I am working on HP Pavillion DV2550e, vista home premium, 32bit, version 6, SP1 -
You are installing this on the Studio equipped with Dell Wireless 370 card right?
If so, it will install all bluetooth drivers necessary and there will be no unrecognized drivers... -
No, my PC is HP Pavillion 2550en.
-
my msn is [email protected], can we talk on line
-
Quick question. How did you get it for $10?
-
Listed at $10.99 this morning... -

Hi Somms,
The Dell BT card that you posted I believe it comes up for a "Desktop" ... see below link in DELL ... Desktop Solution for BT ...
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/category.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&mfgpid=198272&chassisid=8273&category_id=5821&~ck=bt
Thanks,
G! -
Above part is what shipped a little over a month ago...maybe the dell part numbers are in flux now...also found this link: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...etail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=430-3164 -
Hi Somms,
I was just wondering if you have used your new 370 BT card to connect to your Cell Phone? If so, doe sthe signal hold very good.
The reason I am asking is because I was planning to use this BT strictly to connect to my Cell Phone and to Internet ... so need it to be very dependable with no Drop Out!
Thanks,
G! -
AFAIK, pushing bluetooh stereo constantly thru Wireless 370 is alot more bandwidth than a cellphone would ever approach... -
That makes sense! You must be a Techy!
Thanks!
G! -
the only problem with using this driver rather than the dell specific one is it does not seem to enable the function to right-click and disable the bluetooth adapter
. on a laptop, that is not good.
any suggestions? -

Widcomm Bluetooth Software v6.1.0.4700 -
I was wondering why you recommended the above driver? I am not sure if I missed something from Veritas message! so, now
Q1: The above Driver recommended is only for Vista 32 ... right (R193329)!?!?
Q2: Is R189325 ... the correct Driver for DELL Wireless 370 BT ... Version 6.1.0.4402, A06 dated 07/17/08 which supports both 32-bit and 64-bit VISTA?
Q3: Do you see major difference between Driver R193329 and R189325?
Thanks,
G! -
-
When I went to download it ... on the download page it only said it was for XP and Vista 32-bit ... but I didn't see anything about being for 64-bit!!!
But I will take your word ... since You are the Man!
THANKS!

Hi Somms,
I guess I have failed to tell you that I have installed this BT card in my Gateway M-6862 laptop with a Hitachi Wireless BT Antenna.
The card is working (I think) ... since I used my Bluetooth capable Cell Phone to locate the Dell 370 BT card ... and it sees it.
Could you help me with some Q's before I screw up my system ...
Q1: I have not installed any of the Drivers aforementioned here ... but how is it that my Cell Phone sees the card?
Q2: Do I need to install the Dell Drivers that you posted in your above post? And if so, what will it do for me?
Q3: Where do I find "the particular src folder" that you are talking about? I am running Vista Home Premium 64-bit!
Q4: Since my laptop is Gateway ... can Dell Drivers be installed properly? What folder will the Drivers be installed under?
Q5: With this Drivers will I be able to see the Lighted Bluetooth Icon? Or not?
Thanks,
G! -
Just install the latest Widcomm driver that is linked.
Already explained how to extract and install the driver earlier in this thread if required...
Yes, if installed correctly your light and bluetooth will be functional.
BTW: Recently upgraded to Dell Wireless 410 Bluetooth Mini-PCIe...
Uses the same Widcomm Bluetooth v6.1.0.4700 driver as the Dell Wireless 370...
No devices to test the UWB
Doesn't look like there ever will be any newer WiQuest drivers for the 410 either: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2333896,00.asp
Bottom line...stick with the Dell Wireless 370...Dell Wireless 410 UWB function is a truely dead technology... -
Hi Somms,
Thanks for posting back ... I am glad I caught you in time to use the correct driver.
Somms ... I plan to stay with Dell wireless 370 mini-card. The reason I even pursued adding this card was because
1) I did not want to loose one of my 3 USB outlet
2) I did not want the USB Bluetooth Dongle ... however small ... to stick-out form the side of my laptop.
Anyway all I needed was the capability of Bluetooth so I can connect to internet via BT convenience.
Somms ... btw, my laptop already has a "Intel® Wi-Fi Link 4965 internal wireless card with SpeedBoost (802.11a/b/g/n)" ... with 3 antennas ... that I can use for the WiFi connection.
Q: Do you suppose the Dell 370 BT Card could impact my Intel 4965 card?
Thanks,
G! -
FWIW: Bluetooth could only affect 802.11b/g draft-N @2.4GHz freq as it shares the same radio band. 802.11a draft-N is a higher freq @5GHz... -
Hi Somms,
Should I also install the HotFix KB942567-x64 that you recommended earlier?
Thanks!
G! -

Hi Somms,
You know I am not gonna chance it since I got the BT Drivers installed A-OK for my Vista Home Premium 64-bit.
Boy I finally figured out what you meant by SRC and extracted the .exe and looked under "Win64" folder and double clicked the "Inst.exe" and went great.
The BT shows under my Device Manager A-OK and the Tray Icon is there also as you said.
THANKS again!

Broadcom Bluetooth Driver 6.1.0.5100...
X86 & x64 Vista drivers compatible w/ both Dell Wireless 370 & 410 Mini-PCIe... -
Hi Somms,
Q1: Does this Driver include the "hotfix" you were referring to earlier!?!?
Q2: Did you notice any major improvements with this driver update!?!?
Thanks,
G! -

somms - would you please go to the Details tab off your last screenshot, and list the Hardware IDs and the Compatible IDs for the shown "Dell Wireless 410 Wireless USB Device Properties"? -
Thanks again! -
I just got my 370 card today but I'm a little confused on which driver somms was advising to use:
Instead, use a newer Broadcom Bluetooth driver 6.1.0.5100 driver from here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...cid=MIGR-70997
or

Widcomm Bluetooth Software v6.1.0.4700
Can anyone help? -
-
Thanks somms that what I thought but I remember veritas72 saying :"the only problem with using this driver rather than the dell specific one is it does not seem to enable the function to right-click and disable the bluetooth adapter . on a laptop, that is not good."
So are you saying with the 6.1.0.5100 driver you are still able to right-click and disable the bluetooth adapter? -
I have a Dell M4300 workstation. We plugged in the 370 WPAN minicard, but it is not recognized. Also, there are 3 loose wires (white, gray, black). The wireless minicard has a black and white wire attached. The 370 chip only has one wire connection, but the manual doesn't show this connection. Does anyone know which of the 3 wires would be correct? or is it possible that no wires are needed after the chip is seated in the slot?
I wanted this module since is supposedly windows certified and I didn't see this for the 360. Blackberries don't recognize BT drivers that are not Win certified, like the Toshiba BT stack....at least this is what I read on another board and so far my BB won't see the BT chip in my other laptop with a 355 chip. -
Q1: So is this 6.1.0.5100 the upgrade for Widcomm Bluetooth Software v6.1.0.4700? So, it works with Vista Home Prem. SP1, 64-bit!
Q2: Do you have a link to 6.1.0.5100 or is that the same link from Lenonvo that you had posted earlier!?!?
Thanks,
G! -
Compatible with Dell Wireless 370 & 410 x86/x64-bit... -

Thx somms; is there anyway to install the BT 370 drivers without the rest of the WIDCOMM software like PIM, audio, headset etc?
In other words, just the drivers for the BT 370 + Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator so they show up in Device Manager?
x64 Vista SP1 here. -
Updated WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software v6.2.0.8500 driver!

Thanks for the heads up. Installed and running fine on Windows 7 RC.

Updated WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software v6.2.0.9700 driver! -
Hi Somms,
Long time no talk.
Q1: Somm, my Wireless Bluetooth card it is working just fine ... Any need for me to upgrade to 9600 or 9700 version? If so, what are the Changes or Enhancements that I would see!?!?
Q2: Which one do I need the 9600 or 9700? See this is what U recommended before!
Q3: Would 9600 or 9700 work with my Vista SP1, 64-Bit?
Thanks,
G! -

Hey!
First of all i apologize for my bad english... im german.
im new to this forum and got problems with my Dell bluetooth 370 card.
i somehow managed to software disable my bluetooth card before completely formatting my HDD.
now after installing windows 7 i am desperately trying to install the bluetooth drivers. no success. it always says "Press fn+f2 to aktivate bluetooth" but that wont work. the hardware switch is ON and i tried a few other things like resetting the bios to factory settings, removing bluetoothcard and installing windows 7 without it (reinstalled it afterwards).
i also tried this file http://support.euro.dell.com/suppor...eid=R159805&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=213714 (R159805) but it wont work for my bluetoothcard saying "no capable devices found".
I need your help!
regards,
Alex -

Have excactly the same problem
Anyway i managed to deactivate the Bluetooth Wireless 370 Adapter via Software and now i'am not able to reactivate it.
- Try to reinstall the Software from Dell -s doesn't work "Press fn+f2 to aktivate bluetooth"
- Also try to manual reinstall it installation ok but no way to activate that adapter
- Try to force activation with tool behind elgubbo's link but thie is outdatet
I go forward now to download the SDK from Broadcom, let me see if i can wrote a smal tool to invoke that.
Edit: No time so i called Dell support
24h later got my 370 Card changed today, now everything works fine again, no idea what happends to the old one.
Tec on phone and the Tec that changes the card says they both had never this issue before with 370 card here in Germany.
I like the pro Support, allways fast and competent

Link is "DEAD" ... do you have another link!?!?
Thanks!

I have tried the Bluetooth driver from Widcomms Homepage.
It doesnt support the 370 in my Studio 1735.
Is there an updated driver that works? -
http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php
WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software for Windows download linked above just bumped my Vista install bluetooth version upto 6.2.1.1500 -
How did you do it? The Installation-Software says: "This programm can not update your Software. Please Contact manufacterer of your BT Device".
BTW: My Dell BT Travel Mouse works nice after installing Windows 7 but it doesnt scroll until i install the whole BT-Software Package provided by Dell for Vista... Doesnt it only need one single little driver for scrolling?
Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Mini-card problems fixed!
