When i uninstall the drivers beforehand, the widcomm- installer doesnt find a BT-Device :-/

So there is no chance to update the 370 Mini BT-Card in my Studio 1735?

If you have already uninstalled the previous version of WIDCOMM bluetooth software, then just right-click and select extract downloaded BTW_6.2.1.1500win64.exe torrent file using WinRaR. Then browse under BTW_6.2.1.1500win64\win64 and dbl clck Inst.exe file to install v6.2.1.1500 of WIDCOMM bluetooth software.

    Hi Guys, :)
Thank you for your latest drivers...!!!
Finally, with version 6.3.0.3800, I have fixed (after 8 months...) the Bluetooth driver installation issues in my Studio 1535 running Windows 7 32bit Ultimate (always updated).
It's unbelievable that Dell continues posting driver releases which don't work at all in Windows 7...
    Thanks!!

I have tested them all and 6.2.1.1100 is the only one that works. 6.3.0.3800 is ok but not everything works with it.

    Hi Somms,
I have just read about card wireless 370 bluetooth you wrote in this forum.
I have a latop of Dell Studio Xps 1645 – Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit with a card wireless 370 bluetooth.
However, I installed driver for it but fail. I have dowloaded the update driver on the web of Dell (version R226750). In the process of installing, I saw an instruction “ Activate bluetooth using Wireless swith”.
In fact, I have already activated wifi (using wifi to connect Internet) before installing.
After having installed Windows, I have used Bluetooth Mouse without driver card bluetooth before. But now I cannot.
After I installed windows, I installed all drivers but driver card bluetooth and saw a notice in Computer Management that there is a driver which is not recognized.
I think that the card bluetooth must have had something wrong. I don’t know how to check it. I have bought the laptop just only for 2 months.

You need to download the latest driver from somewhere else. Dell has refused to upgrade their driver. I had the same problem on the same laptop as yours and only fixed it with the gateway driver.

    Follow this instruction :

How to install Dell wireless Bluetooth 370 on Dell studio 1557 and Dell XPS 16.

In Windows 7, this Bluetooth adapter is not recognised as present, and Windows will not prompt you to install drivers for it and you will not see any evidence of its presence in device manager. However, when you download the latest driver for Dell wireless Bluetooth 370, extract it into a folder. Open this folder and then click the setup, If you're using Windows 732 bit. However, if you are using a 64-bit Windows 7, do not click setup in the main folder. Open the folder that is labelled Win64 meant for 64-bit Windows, then click the install button, which is labelled as (Inst.exe). This should install the Bluetooth adapter, and Windows will now recognise it.

When I did this, although Windows can recognise this adapter, it did not expose any of the Bluetooth services, which meant I could not use anything to connect to my laptop, including my Bluetooth headset and my mobile phone. After trawling the Internet for two months, I stumbled on a post on notebook forum.com ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...s-370-bluetooth-mini-card-problems-fixed.html) which pointed to an upgrade of this Bluetooth adapter (which has a broadcom chipset). The URL is as follows:

    Gateway.com: Support

After downloading this upgraded software, extract it, and then just directly click on setup, and install over the previous installation. This seems to upgrade the software to allow exposure of various Bluetooth services which made it possible to connect to Bluetooth peripherals.

Let us know if it helped you, the least you could do!

up this thread because I have the same problem with M15x Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Mini-card.

I have installed the latest driver (WIDCOMM 6.0.1.6900)and now the bluetooth is listed in the device manager.
problem is.... it still doesnt detect my bluetooth devices(keep on searching but cant find anything)
I tried using my phone(blackberry) and my phone could detect my wireless headset. my phone can also see the 370 wireless card but cant connect it.

    is this hardware problem?

I just picked up a new 'old' alienware m17x r2 that has an odd issue with BT. Ive only used it a few times but it has disconnected bt on me and the BT dissapears from device manager and even from the taskbar. If I reboot the laptop everything works again. I came across this thread googling dell 370.

w7 64 bit. Any thoughts? I'm not all that good with this driver stuff. i tried using dell support and downloaded their driver but after downloading to desktop and following their instructions it says I have newer ones intalled already :/

so do i need to go to broadcomm and dl their drivers? do i have to uninstall mine first and then install broadcomm ones? any input is appreciated

Yes, you have to uninstall the newer version and install the correct one. Newer version does not mean better because software have to be compatible with your BT card. The guy "somms" who is posting newer versions every week and does not describe for which system the software was compiled does not understand the idea behind custom made drivers. Dell BT card is custom made for Dell by Broadcom and software made by Broadcom for their retail cards or any other custom made cards will not work correctly.

FWIW: The Broadcom/Widcomm bluetooth software is a unified driver backwards compatible with all previous Dell bluetooth cards similar to Broadcom WLAN drivers being backwards compatible or ATI or NVidida unified drivers...there is absolutely nothing custom about these drivers...

I was having problems with my Studio 1535 even recognizing that my bluetooth card (wireless 370 bought directly from dell) was even present. I was beginning to think maybe the antenna was broken (bad wire/connector) or the card itself was not functioning anymore. Both unlikely, but possible. Installing the software in the link made the computer see the card and install the drivers and it now works flawlessly. I wish Dell would get a fix up on their support site for this.

If you have ever installed Motion Joy software to use a PS3 controller on your laptop, it could be part of your problem. For me, I had motion Joy installed and my Bluetooth randomly stopped working. To fix it, I finally had to uninstall and delete all Motion Joy drivers from my system following the uninstall instructions on the Motion Joy Wiki. I then had to reflash the 370 bluetooth mini-card firmware, and finally reinstall the drivers. Now all is working well.

    Dear Omo...

    You rock!!
I have been trying to sort out my bluetooth ever since I rebuilt my Dell M6400 a month ago.
I was running XP 32x and finally upgraded to 7 64x.
The strange thing was initially the setup found my bluetooth mouse without any prompting... but then it disappeared.
I followed your advice, I had alreayd downloaded the driver update off Dell, but as you decribe nothing happened.

Though, I did not need to follow the update advice at the end as my device could be found.
    Thanks very much!!

    Hi all,

I did a lot of research and spent a lot of time trying to figure this crap out on my own before attempting to bother anyone. I am pretty good with computers and I always like to figure this stuff out on my own but it seems I am clearly missing something.

The latest post had me try to use R285455. When I run the setup, I get the "Activate bluetooth using wireless switch". There is no damn switch on a dell xps 1645....

I try to install the bluetooth Broadcom v6.3.0.3800 and get the "No bluetooth device was detected. Please make sure that your bluetooth device is plugged in properly in order to cont installing".

I have my cell phone plugged into USB with its bluetooth on the phone. I have a dell bluetooth mouse that only connects via BLUETOOTH.

I go into task manager and see 1 bluetooth service running, it WAS set to manual and I changed it to Automatic and it is now running.

Still nothing show up in device manager....

Am I connecting something wrong? I also saw a post where you use a DFU file, and when I try to do that, it tells me there is no bluetooth device lol....

I am so frustrated at this point. Completely lost. JUST WANT THIS MOUSE TO WORK!! lol :p

    Thanks for any help guys

"The DFU wizard did not detect a matching Bluetooth device for the DFU image file you selected, please make sure you plug in the correct Bluetooth device and select correct DFU file in the click Next to continue".

Any idea how to resolve the problem? SO annoyed. Thinking of just installing win 7 ultimate and installing only the key drivers I need....idk totally lost

Hi, I'm having an issue with this I've got an Alienware M15x and I followed your instructions with the website and everything, I've extracted the folder to my Desktop and proceeded to install the 64-bit version and then the main setup but to no avail since it's asking me to switch on the Card which is impossible because the damn thing is built-in, I still can't access the Bluetooth settings or the drivers, this all happened cuz I mistakenly un-installed the original driver and I also un-installed all MotioninJoy drivers, any help would be appreciated pls pm me if possible any help is appreciated
