I will get the E video then put in an SD card. Hopefully since the E Classic will be $300, the E Video will be $400!

The dates in the pics in the Engadget article gallery showed April/May/June of 2009 expected... :(

Guess it's an MSI Wind for me.

No, that is when the 2nd version is coming (probably with Intel Moorestown), the ones with Atom are coming in August.

October for regional rollout, WWAN, with WiMAX after that.

That means I will be waiting until October, and then not sure if its EVDO, HSDPA, WiMAX or what.

This is awesome. The SLT processors, I read it, but now I forgot, are the dual core, or gar, mind fart. All of the options look good and the two screen sizes should be great. I want to now go see them, gar, I must wait. I have a good feeling about the top end coming out for under $600, which may give the eee 1000 a run for its money.

I think may might have been putting it nicely. As long as Dell does their fair share of advertising (which I'm sure they will) the Eee will be left in the dust wondering where it turned wrong. XD lol

Hm... this link has me wondering if Dell won't end up having the E and E Slim come out in the Latitude lineup (and thus making it so that they don't have infringement problems simply calling them Es)... Lemme know what you think. :)

I agree, Asus would pounce on them. I wonder how soon till they release a final price point list.

That would be odd, because the Latitude E series are clearly business notebooks, while the E, E Video, E Slim, etc. series are consumer devices. It wouldn't make sense that they would be marketed together in the same lineup.

    Right?

Not necessarily, you can purchase the XPS series from the small business store too.

Yes, but I'm not talking about where they're sold, but rather how they are marketed. XPS series have many elements in common. The Latitude E series and the E Slim/E Video series are very different and are aimed at different audiences. I am arguing that they would not fit in the same series, not that they won't be sold on all of Dell's sites.

You may be right Clorox, I am just speculating as well. Despite being marketed to different audiences, I think that Dell may HAVE to do something like that to avoid legal litigation. lol

Hm... well considering that the final specs haven't even been released yet I don't know how you could be so sure. :S

Also, one thing about the Wind that would just annoy me to no end is that they have the Fn and Ctrl key switched on the keyboard.

I don't know about you guys (and gals) but I am getting so ancy about this now. All of the excitement surrounding the MSI Wind (for those who are going that route) is making me even more excited for the E. *sigh*

I wish they would get out into the open. I have dropped my ssd requirement for a mini computer, but I am still on the fence about which to choose. MSI, Asus, Dell, Cloudbook, and Acer seem to be the big players, but until they are field tested IDK :/ The Dell does look sweet... But for one thing, I could use one of these little guys, like, yesterday.

So given that the Dell E baseline is $300, do you think the baseline for the other models increment by about $100? For example, the Slim and Slim+ are $600 and $700?

Well there's no way to be sure but I'm sure that they will increment probably by $100 but maybe by less. :)

I read somewhere that the video or video+ comes with HDMI... Is this right? Because if it is... SOLD!

The only port specs I have seen show 3 USB, audio, VGA and the card reader. Nothing about HDMI.

If a standard 2.5" HDD can be fitted/upgraded will be even better. 1.8" will be very expensive, small capacity and have limited supplying sources.
