Free Backpack and Dell OS CD!!!!!!! All inspiron orders in July

What did you say to get the $25 audigy credit? Getting a credit for it would be nice.

 

why would you want to buy a laptop because of a free backpack and free os cd deal? a laptop is something that's $1000+ and a backpack is around $20 dollars if you know where to shop and an os cd is free when you call dell. so, i dont know why would anyone buy a particular laptop because of some $20.

 

Most of us didn't even know about the promo. We just found out that we could be qualified to get a free backpack after the purchase. We are just trying to collect our free stuff. Who would not want to get a free $60 backpack?

 

Well like me and many other people here, we purchased the laptop and didnt know about the promo until we saw this topic and now we are getting the stuff.

My swiss gear backpack shipped today!! This is pretty sweet. I bought the e1405 on Aug 1, I origianlly tried to order it at a kiosk in the mall on the 31st, but their internet connection was down so I called another one, and they said they would call me back. Well they never did so after 3 phone calls and 2 chats, I got someone on the phone who would give me the backpack. I am curious will the e1405 be alright in a backpack made to hold f15 inch screens? or should I get one that is tighter?? Also, it is shipping DHL, and is supposed to arrive on Friday, will I have to sign for it?

 

i recieved my swiss gear pegasus backpack (90-dollar value) a few days ago (they shipped it via next day, which was nice), and it fits my 17 inch e1705 just perfectly with lots of extra room, it's most likely going to be my backpack for college.

i ordered through home/home office, but i just helped a friend who ordered through EPP get a 100 dollar coupon that they said would ship in 3-4 days.

 

I got my Red Swiss Gear Maxxum, and what a beauty! I cannot believe I received this for free. A lot of room, great padding, and sturdy. I cannot believe it! What a steal. Thank you notebookreview.com!

 

Dell wont give me the backpack. They said they'll just send me a $50 coupon. Not nice...

 

50 bucks ain't nothing to scoff at... just buy the bag with it if you really want it!

 

Big mistake. Wait until you need cartridges for this "nice" printer...

Free backpack and printer... I have no reason to complain (considering I ordered my lappie in June). Sweet deal!

 

my sister choosed a free printer over a free dvd burner upgrade for her cheapy desktop a year ago. she didn't need the laptop and gave it to me instead. well the "trial" ink ran out about 9 months ago and i've been too lazy/hesitating to buy more ink because one black ink cartridge costs about $30

the printer is virtually worth nothing because the ink are so insanely expensive. plus dell supposedly modifies their printers so that you pretty much have to buy the ink from them.... (not sure if those self-refill ink kit works)

 

^^ I'm beginning to regret "ordering" the printer!

The Dell Printer AIO 924 model uses a $20.99 black cartridge (the standard capacity). I guess this price is considered average?

It's not just the cost, it's that you can get that cartridge only from Dell. Why would you buy an inferior printer from Dell when you can get a nice printer from Canon, Epson, or HP often for less price and with cartridges that are available everywhere?

 

^^ The only reason I "ordered" it was because I can get it for free. I just thought it was better than getting the coupon.

Oh well, I guess I better use my other coupon wisely then...

Got the backpack yesterday and MAN does it have a lot of pockets! Very well built, though

Oh, and the laptop's pretty nice, too...

 

i just got the free skin today and it was kinda disapointing. the guy who delievered it basically just stuffed it in my mailbox and ruined it. maybe i should call dell and complain on monday.

overall the skin is pretty much just a... sticker with a hole in the middle. i think i'd just rather have my lappie looking all shiny and silvery instead of crappy looking sticker

 

I got mine today!!! It is awesome, i just wish it was blue instead of red.

 

I got my backpack yesterday, it is huge and looks like it has good protection around the laptop. So for the little over an hour it took to get it, it was totally worth it.

I finally got the backpack! Though the fitting is a bit too tight, it looks pretty cool and sturdy.

My free printer will get delivered tomorrow. But I'm still waiting for my $50 coupon. Hopefully I will get it this week.

But I'm planning to sell this back pack and get another one.

I think they have a different promo for August. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's the Dell AOI 725 Printer.

I just used this process in the quote below, it worked like a charm, i purchased 3 laptops in July. The first CS lady said she will just give me a $50 coupon.

i went back again and the next CS person is sending me backpacks for ALL 3 orders

 

If you ordered your laptop later than july, and have a core duo in it, got to this thread and you can get a free intel backpack and some other stuff.

I just got an email from Dell telling me that they will refund a $50 to my account. I was only supposed to get a concession $50, but after more than a week, the coupon was never sent. I guess the refund is better. I'm not complaining!

BTW, last week, they also refunded my Audigy Software which was $15.94. Nice!

 

The audigy software is utterly useless....
I tried and all the popping and crackling noise coming along with music/games...

I'm chatting and see if i can get a refund.

 

I have been arguing for almost 30 minutes for the Sonic Burning software. I have it on my machine, want to reformat, but keep getting denied.

 

Am I the only one who likes the Creative Software? For some reason after I installed it CSS sounds a hell of a lot better. I'm not complaing, got if free.

 

Thanks for this thread. I ordered my E1405 on July 31st from a Kiosk and I did not know about this offer. I called yesterday (8/27) and the person on the phone said I was not eligible for the backpack on the day I ordered it. He did agree to send me the operating disk. Then I tried the online chat and that person offered me a $75 gift card in lieu of the back pack. I am really glad, as I purchased a printer and I may choose to use it for refill cartriges.

I would not have known if I had not seen this thread. Plus, I guess you have to be persistent. Thanks again!

I somehow doubt you can still get this to work even if you ordered July 2006.

The CSR's are probably told they can give you up to a $100 coupon as long as you whine enough and you agree that it'll shut you up, the one you got probably didn't even bother to check if your issue was valid.

Your best bet is to call Dell and see what they can do if you're gonna miss your ship date.
