I'm making me nervous, too. Well, more anxious than nervous.

Okay. Testing.
-
-
Tell me exactly where to find what you are looking for and I'll post it--I've never played with Rivatuner before.
-
Go to the second Customize... and select the first block. Enable overclocking, and then select the tab to the right of it, and go to "performance 3d". That should tell us the active clockspeed.

715mhz? -
Please let us know if the notebook comes with the component out adapter or do we have to buy it from dell (yes there is a dell component adapter with digital out for the 1520's. The manual for the laptop shows it)

lol ohnoess!@!
-
why is the gpu having ddr3 bad?
-
This means that dell has listed incorrect data on their site. This means they've falsely advertised the specifications of their components. The RAM is clocked at 800MHz (400x2). That means the effective bandwidth is around 12.8GB/s. That's about half what they advertised.
-
I'm lost...what's going on...so it has DDR3 good thing yes? Are the clock speeds what they're supposed to be?

Is the sadness in reference to my most recent pic?
-
do you think rivatuner could be wrong... PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
-
Can we just overclock them to what they're supposed to be then?
-
-
Is there any chance in hell that its just underclocked????
I also noticed that those drivers are like the original Vista release from NVidia....Forceware 101... I can't wait for mine to come in!!!
-
looks like DDR2 finally
-
I thought the new gpu's changed their clock speed depending on usage just like the cpu does?
also is ddr3 slower then ddr 2? -
So how much worse will the card perform than what it would have been if everything was higher up?
-
Just to confirm . . .

Ahahaha sweet. Well, I'm glad I was the highlight (or lowlight) of the communities day. How can I test my 3DMark score?
I feel the cold shoulder comming on
-
Well this sucks. I'm so *****ing at Dell for this.
-
how wtf? its says gddr3, then it MUST be 700mhz? omg i hate life i wanna die now!! This is going to make a giant performance difference now!!! grrr, do you think dell could be doing a "random" draw like you might get lucky and get ddr3 lol?
-
Wait the screenshots show ddr3 so why is everybody uspet.
Also remember that the new gpus change their clock speed depending on usage so maybe they have to select a performance profile. -
OxycontinBitritrate Notebook Enthusiast
Someone please explain? I thought we wanted 700mhz core speed. wtf is going on.
-
That's false advertisement. -

Well **** this. I want my money back. Let me just pack this thing back up and give Dell a ring. Stupid laptop.
-
this is insane! i am so furious! well at least its still faster than my 7600gs on my desktop. but man! how am i going to run games fast enough on a 1680 screen if i order it!!!
-

(rofl <3 darkmortar)
-
Wait wait....can't it just be severly underclocked because Dell wanted higher battery life or something? That's probably why they advertised the 22.4 GB/s bandwidth, and then when they got the card they just downclocked like crazy. Can you check and see if you can OC it back to the top settings and see if it works fine?
-
how does 32 stream processors compare to pipelines?
and also what region did you order the laptop from, i hope your not from the US, maybe dell hates Canadians -
wait...I'm chatting with a Dell rep actualy, and she said she actualy saw by her own eye 1520 with ddr3, and that it's only for certain model of 1520...she will inform at superior and inform me by email..il keep you informed
-
OH also, ARREEEE you running the card from the cord, and not the battery, PLZ END THIS NIGHTMARE!!
-
The picture shows the slider going up to 600 so why is there a problem? Rememebr that shows what the memory is at right now. The gpus new feature is that it can change its speed.
Are we sure this is its max and not what its set at right now? -
OxycontinBitritrate Notebook Enthusiast
wtf only a certain model? then not the specific model they advertised it for (mine). bull****.
-
OxycontinBitritrate Notebook Enthusiast
Yes, jesus christ. Its connected to the wall.
-
you can download 3dmark06 @ www.futuremark.com
happy benching.
also rivatuner falsely states DDR3, we already saw that on another (russian) review on teh acer 5920G, where rivatuner showed DDR3 but the card only has DDR2, confirmed by other progs. -
Everything I found on the Dell website says this:
NVIDIA® GeForceTM Go 8600M GT with 256MB DDR2 dedicated graphic memory
No idea where everyone is getting the DDR3. -
-
I have 3DMark06 downloading now . . .

So where are the pics of the laptop finally? From all these posts you'd think it was the end of the world!
-
Well.. how about ASIDE from the GPU, what are the general impressions on the new inspiron line??
-
Can you try OCing to max settings and see if the comp doesn't screw over?
Got my new Inspiron 1520
