Is there any point to check the status over the weekend? Do they update during the weekends?

If English is not your first language, then I can understand. Otherwise, LOL. In-production is better.

i hate it that one page says its in pre-production, and other page says its in-production. it gives me false hope :(. nothings better than getting all exited then going to the other page and seeing "pre-production" :(

I will not hope for a status update until tomorrow, I'm slowly losing my laptop fervor... in a good way, I still want it, but I'm not contemplating freezing myself on top of a mountain for it anymore

I just thought of something... if our notebooks are assembled in Malaysia, then wouldn't our order statuses be updated while we are sleeping?

It's killing me. My Inspiron 1721 is suffering from all the Inspiron 1720's lol. Not many people got a 21, so that is my assumption anyway.

When I ordered the laptop on the 7th, it said it would have a 3-4 day delay to get the glossy screen. It has been FIVE days since "in production" started..5 business days and 3 non working days.

I know what that dell automated lady says by heart now. It was funny because my wife called to check for me while I was at work..and the lady goes "Alright, I have some important information for you to write down" and it turned out to be the same "your laptop is currently in production, and is in the ..pause.. BUILD stage. Than I slam the phone down in anger and start screaming obscenities for no reason.

It's probably a 24hr facility, like all corporate warehouses. The selectcomfort factory in town here runs 24/7.

I didn't know 24 hour facilities existed like that.

If it's in the United States, I would think they would have to comply with the Sunday law.

I ordered my 1720 on the 4th, still in the build stage-it better going into boxing soon or I'm going to call and ***** some more. It said delivery date 23-25th, but if it takes three days in the boxing stage, and if DHL delivers as slow as everyone says, it's gonna get here late.

ordered my 1520 on the 4th of july. i asked about stacking rebates and the guy i talked to said he couldnt do that. so he told me he would tell his manager to expedite the laptop. estimated shipping date was august 2. turns out mine shipped on july 13 with 3-5 day shipping. specs are:

    intel core 2 duo 7300 2.0ghz
    1gb ram
    geforce 8600gt
    160gb 5400rpm hdd

quite sad really, i bought an external hdd, a mouse, and 4gb of ram and i dont even have my laptop yet. im planning on calling tomorrow to try and get that multimedia remote.

yeah. it being expedited should cut down the building by half at least. hopefully it was almost done being built anyways. but yeah, shipping should happen before wednesday at the latest.
