THAT ONLY WORKS IF YOU BOUGHT IT FROM A THIRD PARTY SELLER AND IT'S STILL UNREGISTERED.

Also the dell's transfer website doesnt work anymore. I have used it couple times in the past but recently even when you click, "automatically detect my service tag" it doesnt autofill the express service code, so I manually entered it and followed the NO Information instructions which worked well in the past. BUT this time when I tried transferring a dell laptop with over a year of warranty, and the tag transfer team emailed me saying it was denied since I couldnt verify the original owner. Please let me know if it's still working for other people out there. Thanks.

Call Dell. The requirements for transferring ownership are the service tag and express service tag. Issue occasionally arise when transfering internationally.

I recently submit a tech support email cause my screen flickers at low brightness. The tech say the owner info doesn't match(brought off ebay) and ask me to do a ownership transfer. He say in the email to just put unknown if I don't know the previous owner info.

I still waiting for reply from the transfer department, suppose to be around 1 more week business days.

I am only doing a domestic transfer (within US), I called dell and they said they cannot honor the warranty unless I know the original owner information. I told them that in the past it worked with service tag and express service code alone, but the rep told me she had no idea what I was talking about. She said knowing the original owner info is absolutely necessary to initiate a transfer. HELP!!!

Please keep me posted on your progress and if it's successful hopefully you can guide me step by step on how you processed the transfer. Thanks.

Dell replied and it is denied because the previous owner did not respond...

I gonna try contact the ebay seller, but usually they dun have the info since mine was from a liquidator.

Can you please specify what steps you followed and when this was done. Because as recent as a week ago, I can verify that Dell is not transferring warranties unless you know the original owner information. Please shed some light on how and when you did the transfer. Thanks.

Has a resolution to this issue been found? Is there any way to transfer ownership of a Dell laptop without the previous owners information?

Got warranty on my Latitude E6430 transferred without me knowing the details of previous owner. I am good for another two years. But then I never had cause to claim anything on warranty for my previous E6320 and its still running fine.

Think I just logged into the Dell site, let it detect my service tag to check the warranty and click one of the link from there.

Took a couple of weeks I think and the acknowledgement from Dell came from china or something.

P.s. I do remember leaving them fields for previous owner details blank.

I've tried 3 different times via the form and 2 different chats.. I have a bad video card on my M6600 and it's under warranty until December 2014.. They won't do crap without me providing the company / registered owner.. I asked the guy I bought it off and he's either lying or just doesn't know as the info he gives doesn't work..

    Eff Dell..
