I don't mind the wait...as long as they deliver on the day they say they will and not later. I'm supposed to receive it August 2nd and I move August 3rd so I have a tight window here.

 

And at the end of insanity lies bliss... or in other words, an XPS m1330

 

Ugh. I just got the email from Dell and the August 17 ship date is holding firm. Ordered June 29 for delivery in the U.S.

That's what I've been hearing as well.. 9 cell adds to the delivery time.

i was highly considering going with a 6 cell and if it would of made me get my lappy a few weeks earlier, that'd seal the change for me

 

I went 6-Cell because I did not want anything sticking out, but I have a feeling the 6-Cell will still stick out. I hope I am wrong.

 

6-cell sits flush (does not stick out) based on reviews I've read, haven't seen one personally though.. :S

 

It's not going to stick out... just add additional weight .

 

Mine is still in pre-production.

 

I hope so. I was kinda worried when the reviewer for the first look on this site did not know there was a 4-Cell option. I was like of crap they have a 4-Cell and think it's a 6-Cell.

The full review might clear that up!

 

The ship date for XPS M1330 in NZ has shifted forward to 20th July now (at the earilest), so my 18th July estimate is no-longer a reality it seems

 

If a six cell is flush, how does the 4 cell look??? I got the 4 and 9 combo.

Thats what I am worried about too. Why make a 4-Cell at all if you can fit a 6-Cell in the same space? To save 0.25lb?

Not yet...I ordered on the 26th and my information hasn't changed at all on the dell website or over the phone, even after Dell posted about the m1330 model shipping today.

 

Same here I'm A 26er..........nothing has changed

 

it'll be funny if everyone's m1330 showed up within the next few weeks and the order status page still says pre-production. LMAO

 

Maybe Dell meant EU/Asia/Australia orders :/

i called my dell rep that i ordered from... he said it's in production.. my reaction was like "WTF"... He told me it takes 24 hr to update the status.. i keep my finger cross ... i'll call him again tmr to bug him if what he says is false.

 

I think I would cry... not laugh.

 

There seems to be some ambiguity between production and actually in production. It seems like when things are in pre-production, CSR's and the order status page will indicate "in production" status.

If you call or see the front page of your My Account page though, it says pre-production. Kinda stupid...

I think in my case the shipping date may have been the date the parts were shipped to the factory! I was told shipping 10th July, on the 12th I find it entered production on the 11th.

 

What stage of the production? (hopefully not pre-production)

 

Same here, 11th July and its now work in progress, but my estimated ship date went up to 8th August somehow grrr.

So its now gone up from 18th & 20th July. Hopefully it won't crawl up any more weeks.

 

When it first appeared in the tracker on the 12th it showed pre-production done on 11th and in production ongoing on 11th.

 

I'm on hold with Dell and I'm not liking that violin music. It's making me stressed out because the tempo is fortissimo ((

i emailed the seller because he said he will ship within 5-7 business days (and in the auction, u get to pick the color, meaning he doesn't have it yet)

he emailed me back twice (i emailed 2 seperate times) and said "This will ship 100% within 5-7 business days. You really don't have to wait until august 25th and later. Like I said earlier that's only the case for the general public."

 

I hope your right but.....last contact that I had with Dell today clarified something that I thought as there is a pattern of about two week delay between lcd and Led... Led's are being shipped anywhere from 19 Aug forward.

If you receive yours next Friday, I would be very happily surprised...

i ordered 2 day cuz i cancelled my dell order.

i had epp discount so i lost a bit of money but didnt care since i'll be getting it a month and a half earlier.

i just got off the phone and he again, assured me that 100% it will ship by next friday since i ordered and payed for today

 

ON WHAT DAY DID YOU PLACE THE ORDER

I believe "2 day" = today.

He is saying he ordered today and thinks he is getting it next friday.

i did not order from dell. i ordered from that auction

i cancelled my order from dell also today because my eta was august 23rd and was too long. My original eta was july 31st but dell decided to cancel and reorder without my knowledge and for no reason and pushed to 8/23. so i decided i cant wait that long.

i have been emailing this seller mutiple times to confirm that he would actually ship within 5-7 business days or i will be getting a full refund and cancelling my order. and just got off the phone with him also. and i don't think i will have it next friday, i think it will ship next friday

 

I placed my order on the 29th and I am still looking at delivery on 8/30
