My wish for the Mini I would be that it gets released SOON. I have my money set aside for it!![]()
![]()
and, that there are no *problems* with it upon its final release!![]()
![]()
What are yours? What will your uses be? What color? I'm getting the Red!![]()
![]()
So, let's roll with this thread, and see what happens!![]()

Nice compilation of links, Cin'. I would like to get one with a 16GB SSD. My main purpose would be casual browsing and of course mobility. I would like to use it with Linux.
-
Thanks on the linkys
Sweet! the 16GB SSD ~ That would be nice
Browsing and Mobility FTW:yes:
What color? Would you get!
Cin -
The red definitely looks nice from the shots of it on the exclusive post.
-
My wish for the miniI is a nicely designed optical drive, not one of those boxy things.
...I'd also like good battery life. -

For me I am definitely going to try to get the largest internal HD and get a nice SD card to match.
I am really wishing they had launch info on this at least! *sigh*
As for color, I would probably get a black one.
Also, I think the pics in those links show really well how large the keys are. That makes me excited!I just hope the touchpad is nice too, because that's all I'll be using! XD No mouse for me on this bad boy. >.< lol

I guess I just assumed that lol. This kinda sucks though. An optical drive is a must-have for any lappy.
-
These are claiming 4.5 hours on the 3 cell and up to 9 hours on the 6 cell battery. Very impressive.

I meant a nice external drive. I didn't expect it to have an internal drive.

LOL..
not drooling really...just getting really excited
Long batt' life is a must!
OH, I'm multi-quoting again! Will do that often, as with the smiley attacksJust consider the smileys a given with me
-
I want it to run cool and have good battery life. -
I just wish the price would be 300-250 bucks. But thats just a wish.
-
-
Yeah it is going to start at $299.
-
-
If they could squeeze a dvd player on there it would be wonderful. I know they probably don't want it to turn into a glorified portable DVD player, but I like watching movies on my computer and if I can have a small lightweight laptop that lets me go on the net and watch a movie or two I'd be in heaven. I'll save the heavy duty stuff for my desktop.
I guess I'd get the green one, although if they came out with purple that would be my first choice. -
....But, sweet for the wish list
Along with purple, that Tangerine Orange color for the S15's would be sweet, also
Cin' -
Yeah Tangerine Orange would be my color of choice!
-
Hey, I just noticed it would match the design/color of the tires on your Avy
See, girls notice things tooLOL
-
Love the color, love the car and I'd probably love the lappy!
-
And, I would would love it also! But if not, the red for me

For me, usually I like black electronics whether they be glossy or matte. But if there are lots of options I might be eccentric and shy away from black, maybe just this once.
XD lol
-
You better hurry Dell!
-
OMG....Spinning in a good way..that's the only way...Don't want to have to do an Angel Exorcism on yah...LMAO oooh soo kidding!
Yes, you need just hint of color! And, why not the Mini I..to do that for you, and compliment the rest of your electronics....dazzle & sparkle!~!!! LMAO again.!!!!
Seriously, it would be cool if you swayed away from black, and went with another color choice
Oooh I likes the red..it matches my 1530 that;s why I was grooving on it....and Ahh *oh so shiny* LOL -

And no, I'm not goth or emo I just like the look. XD
But yeah, I'll probably be adventurous, and I already have plans to take the 1 GB RAM module out of the machine I am using now, replace it with a 2 GB stick (already have it) and put the extra 1 GB in my Mini I.
This thread has renewed my Mini I excitement.Let's hope it comes soon enough to not let me down.
-
! So, if needed I would take black over white
Not goth or emo!
darnit it! I thought you were...Kidding
LOL
OH that is adventurous! I want to know the results when and if you surely do this!
I know it will come soon, and it won't any of us down~! -
Ohhh the red... and would this be with the SSD thing? Hmmm... a small, red Dell in my hands..
-
Can't wait....... -
im so waiting for this netbook too. i figure its perfect for me when im on the go and when a normal 15in laptop isnt needed. one thing im concerned about is if the graphics chip integrated inside is enough to run the virtual program THERE. i kno it can probably run IMVU and such but THERE has a requirement for an Nvidia/ATI card, so if its integrated it probably wont be working. other than that, it meets my needs for something to use between studying and classes on the go, since i live outside the metro area where school, work, and everything else but home is.

You guys I am sad to say, that unless I can actually see one in person first, I am not probably going to buy a Mini I.
The reason not really being price or performance, but rather that today I saw my first 8.9" in person (the HP MiniNote) and I must say that I think an 8.9" screen may be a little bit too small for me. :S I don't really need it to be quite that portable (the 11.1" Sonys seemed to be plenty portable for my case), so I think I'll be looking into more of the 10" range...
But I guess we'll just have to see... -
Perfect for *on-the-go* and ultra portabilityWhat color are you looking at getting???
And, if you find something else you like better...no worries....so kidding...I just know you were looking forward to the Mini I...

XD >.< lol Thanks for the concern though, I'll be sure to hang in there! ^-^;;
-
Any word on a release date? I start school on August 27th and could use one of these...
-
*supposedly*...Though, if released in late August...it would work out well for you, myself and everyone!
Cin -
i havent thought of a color yet. not much of a problem with me. if i HAD to choose, either Red, Green, or Black. but all of the options look pretty neat to me (with the exception of Pink, thats for my fiance). im just worried about specs and such. but i figure itll be worth it.
edit: i just noticed this, are they still producing the 12in Slim + model they unveiled a while back? -
Hello fellow Mini-Inspiron fans!
Looking forward to seeing the Dell E released as well. I am just wondering if anyone knows if you can upgrade the SSD (it seems like a lot of manufacturers are releasing larger SSD's for cheaper and cheaper prices recently) and the memory.
Also, I've seen stories/web pages of other netbooks (ASUS Eee and MSI Wind come to mind) being used for "light" gaming.. just wondering if these Dell netbooks will be able to handle gaming. I wish these netbooks could get a better integrated graphics solution over the GMA950 (maybe to something like a X3100) but that is probably a pipe dream for now.
Looking forward to more info on these netbooks like everyone else!
Current Notebooks: Dell XPS M1330, XPS M1530, XPS M1710(to be sold soon.. too heavy!), Inspiron 700m, Apple MacBook Pro -
Til, then..its waiting & hoping for a sooner release!
My $$ are sooo ready to be spent, that I have set aside! LOL
A good thing!
I'm waiting for further info to see..For me, it the ultra-portability, smooth design..and ease of usage! -
-
-
Hm...so I'm thinking of sending in my Asus EEE 4g, not too late to return it and picking up one of these Dell Minis, cuz the processor is better and I'd like at least 8gb ssd, as opposed to 4gb. So the only word for a release date is sometime late August or early September? Basically um...do we just check dell.com every day or something to find out when this is out? Sorry, this is going to be my first Dell purchase if I go for it.
-
or do an online chat...or check the linkys available on line for the latest and greatest news on the release
And....WoOT! Congrat's on your future impending Dell purchase!~!!!
Cin' -
I just hope it comes with Ubuntu. Based on the one screen shot I've seen, it doesn't look like it.
On a bright note, it looks like they may be coming next week:

FINALLY! -
Hoooray! Finally indeed. Maybe we'll see new XPS notebooks as well.
-
I'd like to see the PUMA platform available with its sweet integrated graphics. It would be the mini-notebook that packs a great punch for its size. Not at the expense of bulk and battery life either.
-
According to a Spanish tech site, it's supposed to come out next Tuesday:
