    Well, just returned my Asus today...pretty sure I'm going to be picking up a Dell Mini. Anyways, how much do you guys think the Video version would cost? Not the Video + or whatever. Just need 8-ish gb space and don't really need bluetooth on it. I've only heard about the starting price of $299 which is probably for the 4gb model, right?

    Yeah they start at $299 and it will most likely be the 4 GB SSD. I think they planned on having 4, 8, and 16 for the three E models.

    Nice thread. I'm looking forward to seeing the Dell Mini Inspiron too. My wish is that it will have a higher capacity SSD or HDD. 16GB is not so bad but 2,4,8 are pretty small.

    I'm on the brink of buying an eeepc 1000H but I'm trying to hold on...

    I'm pretty excited to learn the final specs and details.. if it's good I"m definitely getting one.. here's what I'm hoping for..
    similar size chassis to the 901, multitouch touchpad, nice screen, better keyboard than 901. instant operating system like voodoo envy, runs ubuntu netbook remix, $299 base model, memory card reader.. and configurable with 6 cell battery, even the base model.. also upgradeable ram to 2 gigs.. it would be nice to have upgradeable ssd storage too..

    i have been waiting for so long for this laptop and if it comes out tomorrow it would make my summer... however... does anyone know whether they would be releasing the video and the video + tomorrow as well? or just the standard one. i would love a blue video +... and if someone spots any purchasing details please post on here because i have work tomorrow and can't spend too much time looking through the internet for a site to buy this... (nor do i want to search through the dell website)

    i actually have 1 wish that no one has wished for yet lol...

    i wish it had a dialup modem, most of the countries i travel to (in the middle east) have dialup as their primary way of connecting to the internet...

    and an external modem would not serve the purpose of the MINI netbook.

    I'm bringing my lappy to work...I dont do that alot..but tomorrow I am..and I'm going to *feed off of our wireless in the conference room*...I havent asked my employer yet, but I'm sure it will be fine!

    I think you can always enter a webcast..you dont have to be there at the beginning ;) :)

    They announced a bunch of new Latitude models under the "E" designation (which all look like great models), but there was no mention of THE E we were looking forward to.

    If you need one ASAP and aren't confident the E will come in time you should check into the MSI Wind... :)

    Sorry to hear about the lack of E release! I know many of you were looking forward to it! :( Hopefully it'll come out soon though.

    If any of you are interested though I do have an MSI Wind now and will be putting up my review within the next couple of days. :D

    I think the articles that suggested a Dell E launch today got mixed up with the designation "E" since the new Latitudes are from the "E-series" too. The event invitations that went out specified that this was going to be "Freedom From Business As Usual" and I doubt the E would've been a fit. I would actually be surprised if Michael Dell does not announce the E in New Delhi tomorrow. Like someone else said, it makes perfect sense to make the announcement in India!
