I checked back online this morning for my order status.

    How about this then??

Estimate Delivery Date: To be advised. Please check this site at later time. For further enquiries please e-mail: [email protected]

I'm not too worried about when I get it, because as I don't need it for work/uni/school. More for personal use as I have to travel occasionally for work. Also it means I'm not hell bent on trying to find a different machine to do its job as a replacement.

Just a minor correction, I've ordered the black LED. And there still is no update on my new EDD, still being told that the EDD is To Be Advised.

Well since I ordered I didn't think I would get the status checking addiction but I was wrong. Hope everyone else's addiction is going well!

Anyway just checked again (also checked this morning) and apparently it's arrived in NZ and with local carrier.

New EDD is TODAY 20th of August. :D
Got my fingers crossed I get it this afternoon.

I've got a funny feeling that the EDD is slightly off. If it's only just arrived in NZ, it would take 1 or 2 days to get here.
    Will have to see.

    Will keep you posted.

An update on mine, my EDD has gone from "TBA" to 6 September. My CSR was getting back to me on the exact reasons for my delay, but I'm sure the LED screen would be the number 1 reason!

Some updates here...A dell guy callled me this week-end saying that the white cover was out of stock and that I should chose another color or cancel!
I asked for a compensation or anything and he told me he couldn't do anything more than the 100 bucks I got for the delay. But he also told me I should get my laptop very soon (early september) if I picked another color.
I finally chose red and I have just seen today that my former order has been cancelled and that my new one has an estimate ship date on the 5th of October!!!! I hope I should trust the rep more than the website but we never know...And I am still waiting for my 100 bucks...
Any news from others waiting for a white M1330?

Some hope for you all, Mine has left the factory and is en-route to NZ! :D

Which is amazing, since Dell did tell me that parts weren't expected to arrive at the factory until August 31!!

    I'm getting all excited now!!

Thanks, I do live in a rural area down here in the SI, so it usually takes a day longer for Dell machines to arrive down here, than for other places. But at least their tech support do drive from Christchurch if we have a problem!!

I'm looking forward to booting it up the first time myself!

Sorry, 05-Oct-2007 is the EDD (and not the ESD)

Mayhem, I have seen in one of your other thread that you seem to have the fingerprint reader...Do you confirm? I didn't know it would be part of the package in NZ...Were you expecting one? Was it written somewhere on your order?

I am starting to get really f***ing angry now, I have been waiting almost two months, and apart from the led screen there is nothing special about my m1330.

Oh well, onto the dell hold queue to growl them again.

I wish they would out source their call center to Singapore or the Phillipines, they are much more polite and easier to understand.

I got someone in the Phillipines so much better to deal with.

My laptop is held up by the LED screen and the case, apparently will arrive on the 31st of August, I hold my breath and hope like hell they can sort this out.

This has caused me so much grief, I definitely will not be ordering from Dell again, they can go stick it.

I wont order from HP either (floppy hinges anyone?), it will be either a Lenovo or Apple next year when I update my laptop.

Hold in there AndrewThrift. I was told the same thing, the LED screen being the hold up and it should be in stock by August 31 with delivery after that. But then a few days later, mine shipped. Although it is still enroute I was surprised how quickly things changed.

Well I finally got my M1330 this morning. It was actually sent up on the courier yesterday, but since I was actually on the golf course, I didn't get it until this morning!!

First impressions on it. It is awesome, so much better than what I was thinkng and hoping for. On closer inspection a lot of the build issues described here aren't a problem with mine. (actually I think a lot of them are petty things anyways).

No CPU whine, the CD loading noise is a heck of a lot quieter than the same system used in the stereo in my car (I can hear that one working when I'm driving 100km/h down the road, with the window open and the stereo very loud). The LED screen is just awesome. No wobble either and I got the 9 cell battery.

Overall, this has certainly been well worth the wait, and for everyone out there waiting for theirs, keep holding on because it is awesome!!

If anyone has any questions for me, I'll try my best to answer them!

Thats great empacher. Updated the list with your DD on first post.

I completely agree with you on build issues. Although I do think I have a little bit of CPU whine. Thing is that it's only noticeable when everything in the room is dead quite. Definitely something that can be tolerated.
My CCFL screen is very nice. Looks bright and very sharp. But I have never seen a WLED up close and personal.

Vista on the other hand is where my only problems come from. I think I'm on my 5th BSOD and have only just got all the programs I want on it to work properly.
    UAC's popup's are so annoying!

Overall best laptop (maybe even computer) I have ever owned.
The wait will be worth it.

No I didn't go with the wwan, as I didn't need it, just kept the standard wireless card as well.

It is the tuxedo black, and looks very very sharp, trying not too put too many finger prints on it!

So far Vista has been great, got rid of Norton Internet Security, and replaced it with Norton 360 (I bought it a while a go for my desktop).

UAC pop-ups can be disabled if you want.
I never found any use for them.
UAC = User Account Control and is listed in the Security Center.

i'm pretty sure these are assembled in malaysia given its location

I'm looking to order an M1330 in NZ in the next few days. Any ordering and specification advice will be appreciated. I'll likely go with a T7300 and 2GB RAM. I hear that people who get the CCFL screen are likely to get theirs quicker. Are there any delays associated with the fancy wireless card (wireless-N)? mayhem_nz, how's the not-as-fancy screen? Thanks.

If you want it fast get the black CCFL screen.
I went with the T7300 and I think it's best bang for buck.
Not much extra performance in getting the T7500.
2GB ram minimum. I'm thinking about uping it to 4GB later when I have the extra cash.
Fingerprint reader is quite nice. Hard to use at start but easy and fast once you get the hang of it.

    Sorry not sure about this.
    I went with ABG.

The not-as-fancy screen is very nice (bright and sharp), hell of a lot cheaper, and you get the laptop faster.
Comparing the other screens around the office, it's seems a lot nicer to look at. I'm not an expert though.
Never seen a WLED so can't really compare them.

Black CCFL with fingerprint reader took 19 days to arrive for me.
A lot faster than many others ordering the WLED.

I wouldn't be too fussed about putting 4Gb of RAM into the machine, unless you are running Vista 64bit.

Mine came with the 4Gb as a standard option, and Vista will only recognise and use about 3.5Gb.

I am contemplating getting Vista 64bit to be able to use it all, but I think I'll wait a while after SP 1 comes out.

My red M1330 is now in the "ship from factory" stage with a new EDD=10 Sept so I guess I should have it by next week.
I would be more than happy if I had not seen today that the price of same configuration is now 200$ cheaper and includes a free bag, a free 2 years XPS premium service and a 250GB hard-drive (instead of a 160GB)...
Well, I will call them tomorrow and see what I can get...
