I had 3-5 business days on the purple one and 2 business days on the Spring Green one, but the purple one left Nashville (or wherever it started) on 8/10 (a Sunday!) and arrived overnight - by 10:00 a.m. the next day. The green one was shipped on 8/12 (6 days earlier than estimated on the second revised estimate) and arrived on the afternoon of 8/14.

 

I have a feeling DHL is gonna be a buncha dickheads and hold it until 2 business days. They did that with other items i ordered. They get the shipment into their warehouse that's 5 miles from my house and hold it until the amount of days i payed for. Like say i got 3-5 day shipping, if they recieve it in 3-4 days they will hold it til the 5th day.

my studio 15 is still in the "build" stage for more than 2 weeks now!

When I ordered there was nothing indicating it will take so long.
I understand that this is back to school time, but they should have been more prepared for it. even more when talking about a new model!

I think it's time to mail my sales rep to check it out again.

 

Today makes 3 weeks ago that I ordered my 2 Studio 15s. They are also still in the build stage.

I didn't get any of the options that they were running long delays for so hopefully this goes smoothly.

 

Ordered myne on the 7th of August, It Due on the 28 of August and its still in pre-production.

 

I'm in the UK and I ordered my Studio 15 mid-day yesterday (Saturday) and I haven't had even a confirmation email, and the order status says "We’re unable to give you an update at the moment." I'm going to wait until monday and if I don't hear anything, give them a call.

 

When I ordered there was nothing indicating that it would take so long... my preliminary ship date that always appears in the right corner of the screen was august 8th, and I still got estimated ship date for the 28th. but as it seems right now, i'll be very lucky if it ships on time.

OMG I just checked the shipment status with DHL and I'm getting it today! Talk about fast 3-5 days shipping. I will post pics and initial thoughts later.

 

This is frustrating...I ordered my laptop on saturday, and have only just today received the acknowledgement email, with no sign of the confirmation email. I paid with Visa - I thought payment through that was supposed to be fairly instant?

Uk is bollocks, Myne is in pre-production and has been since the 07/08/08. I Rang today and they said the order status checker is broke and im in the production stage, he advised that i should ignore the online status, i said they should fix it rather than telling me ignore it but they dont seem to care. If its not here on the 28/08/08 Im cancelling i can only imagine the service i will recieve if (or more likely when) something goes wrong with my laptop.

Im considering paying out an extra £250 for a trusty apple which ships within 24hours.

i have also been told that the studio laptops are manufactured in Poland then shipped to the UK.

 

That usually means the courier has collected the notebook from dell, and its either on its way or at one of the depot centers of the courier company.

 

ordered mine on july 30th, and it's still in the build stage...
mailed the sales agent and he wasn't helpfull at all
he said what I already know... my studio is still in production, and the system doesn't show him any delays (mmm I wouldn't count on it at all ).

 

I just talked to an agent on the online chat (this may be UK specific) and he told me "for the past couple of days, our software didn't work, that is the reason the order has been placed today."

So my order didn't get put through on saturday, but today, which I why I only just got the acknowledgement email. I just hope the confirmation email is on its way soon.

 

Well the notebook arrived at the depot 10 miles from my house this morning. Then it now says with delivery carrier so i guess it left the depot?

 

"With delivery courier" means it's on the truck and out for delivery.

Hi, I've been looking at this forum for a while now, and now that I ordered a Studio15 too, I feel like I want to post something on here (maybe it will make me feel better?). So I ordered it on Aug.6, the est. ship date was Aug.26, then it got got reveised to the 19 . They told me normally it should ship around these days, even though they are experiencing delays in batteries... Today this guy on the chat service (Canada) tells me it hasn't even started building (due to the missing battery!) (after almost 2 weeks) and that he doesn't know when they'll start building it, it might be as late as Sept.6
So I am frustrated (I leave for school on the 27... Parents will have to ship it I guess, I don't feel like buying a dutch computer!), like so many of you!

I just received my Studio 15 this morning (after 2 delays) - Placed the order on 7/28. It is actually 9 days faster than the estimated time.

 

Finally my order is in boxing. After being in the build stage for 3 weeks.

 

That's great man ^^.

I finally have a reason to cancel my order.

I ordered the 26th. It was supposed to ship the 5th. It has since been delayed 2 times. Each delay said it would ship a week after the new est date. Today I receive an email that says it is being delayed TWO AND A HALF weeks and I won't receive it until the 8th of September (That's three delays total).

That is just unacceptable. I won't be giving any more business to Dell. It is either Dell is lying and something was wrong with my order, or for some reason my run of the mill S15 was just not getting attention on the production lines.

I'll be ordering a dv5t.

 

At least!! got in to Boxing stage today

So I'll get my notebook on time.

I agree your situation with Dell is rediculous. The trouble with the HP offerrings, including the dv5t, is that from a graphics perspective you get to choose between the poor integrated Intel chip or an nVidia chip that is likely to melt on you, probably just after your warranty period expires:

If you will be doing any gaming or video, stick with the Studio or find another laptop with an ATI dedicated option.

 

So I called today to cancel my order and they tell me that they can not cancel my order because it is too far along in the process. If it is so far along in the process why are they giving me a TWO AND A HALF WEEK delay after I already had TWO one week delays.

I am in awe of Dell's terrible customer service.

 

Bull****. Fight it with your credit card company. Somethings seriously ****ed up with your order dude, cause like i said up until i hit boxing, me n your laps were in the same bunch. They screwed you bad. Unacceptable service. File with the BBB.

DHL is garbedge. ****ing retards made me wait all day yesterday for the laptop to come and i finally got fed up at 5. So i jumped in the shower and left the house around 6 to go out for dinner. When we get back around 7:20 i see a note on the door from DHL saying they came. WHO THE **** DELIEVERS AT 7:09PM ?????????????????????????!!!!

So now i have to wait around all day again, no shower, for those douchbags to come

I'm happy for you guys too! As we've all found out, those CSRs in India know very little about our orders. I don't want to burst your bubbles here either, but do remember that mine was in boxing for 5 days!!! But still, a 5 day wait is much shorter than the time you've already waited! Hopefully, when it arrives, it will have been worth the wait. Mine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow!!!

I think it'll be interesting to see when exactly they will send mine. When I canceled my order on August 17th, my second ESD (the first was August 7th) was August 18th. Since they let me cancel it the day before it was supposed to ship that means I was most certainly going to get a new ESD. It wasn't anywhere near the boxing stage. It would be funny if I ended up getting it quicker with my new order date than my old one.

I won't be so upset this time if it is delayed because I know its a possibility rather than being taken by surprise the first time.

I am kind of annoyed that they still haven't sent my accessories even though the ESD is for today. There shouldn't be a delay on accessories.
