    Hello Friends,

Just received, Dell 7537 Aluminum Body - mid 2013 model with the following components ....Surprisingly, Dell shipped this piece with real high quality components. Here is some info took from CPUZ & HwInfo64

Display Samsung SDC4C48 156HL Dell P/N: M6XR1 (Seems IPS), display is real good one
RAM Samung Model P/N : M471B1G73DBO-YK0 (Seems good stuff from Sam-Sung)
Wireless Intel wireless N7260 BGN 2*2 HMC WiFi Adapter (Slow and inconsistent connection, Intel- please woke-up)
Battery Dell 62VNh48 - Samsung SDI - SR no : 24179 UID : 24179 Samung SDI Dell 62VNH48 - (Battery wear is perfect Zero level, 100% Available for use)
HDD SEAGATE ST1000LM014-1EJ164 - Hybrid drive 1TB with 8GB SSD (full SSD makes huge difference for sure)

Overall, this is one of the finest model ever delivered by Dell in Home / Consumer category. Absolutely built like tank yet thin...I have chosen this particular model after almost 2 months + very detailed research, both in person and internet grinding...at any time old model i.e 7537 is super superior to 7547 (recent model).

99.999% there should not be any regrets of buying this model....one of the finest and maintenance friendly design with excellent battery life.

Kudos to Dell for producing 7537 model, which can last for decades, yet this sexy design can be ever fresh with smudge-free Aluminum super body..

If anyone need any info, feel free to ask any time.

I didn't have any issues with A10, but I can confirm A12 is working ok. The release note mentions it fixes "Fixed BIOS A11 side effect with preload process." but then as I never saw A11 (it must have been pulled quickly) or its release note I have no idea what was changed in A11 !

    Hey all,
I have been using Dell 7537 laptop for some days, it's nice one but not really a powerful one in-spite of having 16GB RAM under the hood...from the processing power prospective Dell 7537 laptop is merely same as Dell i5 stuff., just a marginal improvement...can u or any one reading this, Pls suggest really strong laptop with the following requirements / qualities.

    1. Strong build / Upgradable under-hood components
2.16GB RAM, but possible to increase it to 32GB in the near future
    3.Decent screen quality and IPS
    4. Backlit KB
    5.Touch screen
    6. Processing power
    7. May not be best battery , but around 3 to 4 Hours backup would suffice
8.Preferably low heat or having very good heat management
Around $1000 budget? is it possible?

Do you have an SSD drive in your laptop? If so, what brand/model is it? And can you confirm it is still running fine after the BIOS upgrade?

    Thanks,

Diwit : Clean OS installed to get rid of unwanted programs with up to date drivers. I have SSD Transcend SSD 370 with SMART / TRIM on / SATA 3 Installed with Fresh Win 8.1 OS , which can touch upto 500MB/S, and I have checked it too...Read test is at 432 MBS / Write is at 327MBS.

My Bios is A10 and have updated it to A12, rolled it back to A10 as the A12 consuming more battery, even after switched off the latptop completely.

My point here is Laptop is working fine ,a dell gave quality components, but the processing power is not solid at all.

Analytic apps taking merely same time as my 5 yr Old Dell i5 2.8Ghz with 8GB...I have tried all sorts of tweaking and i did find improvement.

i suspect i7 4510U is the culprit of low performance from this beautiful laptop.

Seems to me like Dell wasted one of the best design in recent times as there are no powerful processor options.

    Hi all,

Today I received a refurbished Inspiron 17 7000 (7737) from the Dell Outlet. Everything is great, except one thing - I use Skype every day to video conference, but the image I'm getting from the webcam is surrounded by a black halo.

I'm pretty sure that it's because the camera is slightly off center in its housing as it's supposed to be exactly central in the clear circle of the bezel, and being a millimeter or so behind the glass screen front, it's capturing the black edge of the circle.

How difficult is it to disassemble the touchscreen? I'm guessing starting from the base of the laptop, removing everything, screen off... how does the screen itself come apart?

Should I even attempt this, or should I return it... but I'm guessing I'd be sending it back for weeks to fix.

    Any thoughts appreciated!

You can try contacting Dell and if lucky they'll send someone to replace it for you. I assume the front camera comes with the screen panel (i might be wrong) so it is not easy to DIY.

I ordered my inspiron 15 7000 (7547) series during boxing week and received the laptop yesterday. The WIFI is absolutely horrendous and barely usable if not within 10 feet of the router. I only get full signal strength within 5 feet. Upon contacting dell support they agreed to send a technician to the house (3 day wait) with a new wifi card and antenna or I could wait 2 weeks for a replacement laptop to arrive. I opted for the quicker option of having a technician come to the house.

Tonight I receive the following email that this part is on backlog and "is expected" to be available in 7 days. Is this problem so widespread that they can't even stock enough replacement wifi cards? It didn't take me long to find numerous posts online of people complaining about this issue.

    My email from Dell:
    ===============

    Hello

We would like to extend our apologies for this inconvenience. There was just challenges on the availability of the wireless card of your laptop. Expected replenishment of the said part will be on 1/13/2015. We will update you once again regarding on this. This case is being monitored accordingly. Rest assured you will be assisted once again.

Thank you for choosing Dell support.

    ================

Unbelievable. I've emailed Dell support asking for a full refund.

    Hi Everyone,
My boss handed me an Inspiron 13 7347 from one of our bigger clients and tasked me with finding out if Windows 7 Professional can be installed on it. Does anyone know if there are drivers available? I have downgraded to 7 on other machines and it was a hunt for a lot of the drivers. My main concern that this is a new laptop and not all drivers may be available.
Any information, suggestions, or ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank so much and stay warm!

    Respectfully,

    George D.

    Hello All Dell guys,

I love the Dell 7537 , but it's way bellow the performance due waste i7 U processor, is any way or does any one here updated their processor to
i747XX series on 7537? I'm aware that existing processor is soldiered bla bla, but any processor can be undersold..and upgradable as long as we can shell out $$ and forget of warranty though...does any one had tried this? before?

Just ordered the new 2015 base model i7 with 4k display. Will give you a review. In case the new screen kicks , how much do you think I should sell the old one with i7, 8Gb RAM, Full HD and 512Gb SSD for? :hi2:

I just picked up a 7547 from Best Buy today. While there's a lot I like about it (mainly the build quality) I just can't get passed the touchpad on this thing. It is absolutely horrible. There's virtually no settings for it and drivers don't exist (according to Dell). Instead it runs off Windows settings which offers almost no customization. I can't adjust the acceleration. The mouse is very sensitive, so much so that it's impossible to click on anything or slide/scroll because when you lift your finger up, the cursor moves making it impossible to click on anything. Also the up/down 2-finger scroll barely works on the first try. I have to try 3, 4, 5 times until I can get it to start scrolling.

It's so bad that I'm contemplating returning it.

Anyone have any ideas on fixing this horrible touchpad? I read in another thread that someone installed the stock synaptics drivers and got it to work better.

I also have issues with the display driver. I hate the auto dimming but I figured out how to turn it off, but for some reason my blacks and darks are more of a brownish color.

    Hi,

I got the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 (7347) from the Microsoft store recently. Happy with it so far, no pesky ghost touch or anything (yet).

One thing though, based on some reviews I read, the 500GB HD on this model is supposed to be a Hybrid, with an 8GB cache. I looked up the model # of my unit's HD and it's a seagate model with no SSD cache. Did anyone else get an SSD caching HDD with theirs?

if it makes a diff, mine is the one with 8GB ram, i5-4210U, 13.3" 1080p.

    Thanks!

I am in the same boat. Got it exchanged based on the advice of someone here, but it's still sucks. It's an Elan trackpad and the drivers simply don't exist.

I can't install any drivers. It's ridiculous. I will probably end up returning it at the last minute tomorrow night.

I'm struggling with the touchpad too (7737). Got latest Dell drivers installed fine. With the cursor jumping when you lift your finger issue, you have to either really decrease sensitivity of touchpad and the sensitivity of tap-to-click to make it more bearable, or it can be fixed if you turn off tap to click altogether and just use the touchpad click to register a click. They really should fix it in the firmware though as it's so annoying.

Anyone else got two unknown devices in Device Manager under Other devices? MS-ABTP and MS-TCC. They are to do with bluetooth from what I can tell, why do they appear as unknown though with no drivers?

My 7737 has a Seagate SSHD hybrid drive with 8GB cache, I presume this is invisible to the OS and the drive internally optimizes itself for performance... but my Dell came with Intel Rapid Start and Smart Connect on, both of which seem to require an actual SSD (and it seems it should be at least the size of the RAM you have)... so why would these two be installed?

What is everyone's monitor settings on the 7547? Colors/brightness/contrast seems way off from what I've had on every other computer or laptop or tv. I have tried a million different adjustments and nothing seems right. Either the darks are too brown, or things are too bright or too blue or whatever.

I hated that autodimming as well and had to dig for that setting too! 99% of the time I'm near a wall outlet so I am willing to sacrifice battery life for a brighter screen :)

I have the 7547 (Best Buy) and 7347 (Costco). Gave the 7547 to my wife because I wanted the smaller 13" screen /2in1 of the 7347.

I have no complaints about my trackpad on either model but I only care about drag and click since I usually have a mouse or track ball.

So far the only complaint I have about the smaller laptop (7347) is the bass level compared to the larger speakers in the 7547. The 7547 has good laptop speakers.

I installed the latest driver from microsoft site ver 17.14.0 for 7260n yesterday and it seems to have resolved all issues i have been facing since i bought this laptop. I am getting 107 down and 15 up which is what my isp gives me. Before the update i used to get max 35 mbps down even close to my router.

So I've had mine for a little over 2 months now. I've gotten used to the trackpad and found setting in the color that I can live with, but now my fan sounds like a jackhammer. I'm not sure but it sounds like it's rubbing against something. Anyone else have this issue? Should I open it and try to fix it or would it void the warranty?

So I have had the touch screen Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series for about a month now, and I'm loving everything except for I am having trouble with Wifi at times. For some reason at some periods of the day, or completely random, my Wifi will disconnect. I can go in and automatically reconnect, but it is so frustrating to have to keep doing this. I know it's the computer because at times I will have my xbox on and it nevers loses connection. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this? I thought it might be because my blue tooth is on but it has started to happen even with it off.

If you're getting the black screen freeze you need to update your BIOS and nvidia graphics driver. I had the same issue, but loading the new drivers and BIOS fixed the issue.

Not liking the new gestures, I used to use three finger left/right for forward and back. Can't figure out how to change it back, getting pissed off with having my app changed every time I use the gesture by reflex.

I'd also like two finger tap to be middle click, at the moment it does nothing. I tried changing the registry but the figures I found don't seem to want to fix it. I managed to get two finger press on the click pad to work as middle, but not the tap.

Worst problem I've found is that I get a BSOD every time I hotplug a HDMI cable.

    Mine is a 7537

BSOD is Blue Screen of Death. Means the computer crashes so hard it has to be reset. Has done it on both plug in and unplug. I haven't had a chance to do any troubleshooting on that yet. I've been trying to get my touchpad to work how I like it again, then I'll look at what might be causing it.

Hotplug is plugging it in while the notebook is on. It works normally if the cord is removed or plugged in while the notebook is off.

I have the 7348 13" laptop and below is my experience :

Well folks. I wipe out my ssd clean and do a clean install of Windows 10 and it failed!

When I get to install "Intel Chipset Driver", my computer can never boot up anymore. W10 say critical error and error.

Thanks and no thanks to Hell and Microshaft.

I will wait a few more months before I try again.

    How did yours go?

    Hello!

I have recently purchased a 7348 and formatted the hard drive. I have downloaded and installed all the drivers from the notebook support page. However something is missing. Dell touchpad software is missing for sure and I don't know where to get it. Also the notebook will not go into tablet mode when I turn the screen around. (Windows 8.1 clean install).

    Thank you for your help!

I am sorry, but it is very hard for largest companies in the world make something that works. ((

I had the same problem regarding the tabket mode when I reinstalled windows 10, on the 7000 15" 2 in 1. I went on the Dell site and basically installed all of their drivers. Unfortunately I am not sure which one exactly it was that caused it to work again. If you sort the drivers by installation order, I THINK it was one of the last two or three in the 'drivers' section.

I am contemplating buying an Inspiron 15 7000 series with 4k UHD screen at bestbuy for my niece. I read on notebookcheck.com that the UHD screen is dim. I own an XPS 15 9530 with the QHD+ 3200x1800 screen, which I love and whose brightness I find adequate. Is it really that much worse? Thanks. Also has the screen changed at all with the move to 6th generation skylake CPUs?

Looking at a dell inspiron i7548 with 4k uhd screen. Has anyone tried 1x16gb sodimm? Is there anything else I should know about this laptop? I would like to add a 2nd hard drive if possible.

    Hi,

    I recently upgraded my Dell Inspiron 13 7000 (7347) to Windows 10.

I found that the "INTEL MANAGEMENT ENGINE" driver posted on the Dell site for this model/OS combination is NOT good. In particular it can cause the machine to NOT wake up from sleep!

So i installed all the Windows 10 drivers except for Intel Management Engine. Which is staying on the same version from the machine's original Win8.1 install. So far so good; even with an old Win8.1 driver, the machine is able to sleep correctly. Since I use the machine at home only, I don't think I need any of the "intel mgmt engine" driver's features.
