Post when XPS M1330 ordered and when/if shipped

My ship date is 7/31 and I'm hoping the same thing. Still in build, but it's not inconceivable that I could go through testing and boxing in two days. Getting delayed to 8/3 wouldn't be so bad either. Three days is manageable. If it's after that though, I'm gonna be disappointed.

 

i think build just means that manufacturing have recieved the order, kitting is the stage where they gather all the part, and thats part of the build stage.

I hate to say it.. but i will never ever buy another dell product after my m1330..

 

I'm not gonna say I'll never buy from DELL again. But not for a long time, and certainly not at product launch.

 

The thing is, at this point I am resigned to accept my August 17th ship date. I realize that I am not going to have it for my summer classes. I also realize that it will be a nice present to open up once I finish my summer classes. I will thoroughly enjoy it for the fall semester and I probably won't bear too big a grudge with Dell for taking so long to send me my notebook.

Having come to that point now, the only thing I pray for is that I do not get one of these phone calls announcing that my order has been delayed. I will sit back and take the ridiculous wait from 6/28 to 8/22 for my laptop...but I will not take a delay at this point. So that is what I am afraid of now.

 

Well, if it's for palmrests, you might be with me waiting until 30 Aug, but that's only a week later.

Hey cliegal, the screen that you recieved was the CCFL I am guessing instead of the LED, but did it have the webcam in there or not?

I just placed a second order today as well for around $1450 with the same specs as yours but with a 6-cell and integrated vid. which isn't that bad of a deal. But I have to try and contact my rep now because the messenger bag that he REPEATEDLY TOLD ME WAS INCLUDED was not on the order confirmation, so I have to get that added. I got upgraded to free next day, so I have a ship date of 8/30 which is actually the same ship date as my current order that was placed on 7/13. How does that happen? Hopefully I might actually receive the second order first and then cancel the 7/13 order that was $30 more to include a 9-cell.

 

I just configured an m1210 and esd is aug 1st.

whats up with the evdo option when you choose it , it gives a/v config error during checkout?

I never said that, just noting the difference and am def not buying a laptop without verizon evdo. preferably with int antenna which is why i have order for m1330.
the way i see it, if they bothered to send me the lo jack then the order is still good and laptop hopefully wont be too terribly far behind

Im thinking of switching to a 1520.. I can get better specs for 200 dollars cheaper

 

For a CCFL the LCD panels require an inverter that changes the DC voltage to AC.

I believe the LCD panels can take the DC directly from the laptop power w/o the inverter.

This would make the LCD panels with the LED backlights more efficient, but I cannot speak directly to their power savings.

 

Another email: I'm moved to 3 Aug, not 30 Aug for a new date.
