Post when XPS M1330 ordered and when/if shipped

I do have some good news - for me anyway.

Order date was 7/6 with an EDD of 8/24 (ship 8/23, overnight)

Been in build for ages now, including this morning when I checked.

Just now, it was in testing.... is there hope yet??

Boldspud--Call customer service and threaten to cancel order. I ordered on-line and got the free bag today. Just don't take no for an answer and speak to a manager.

You should go into boxing soon. I ordered on 7/4, and went through testing and into boxing today. You shouldn't be far behind. There's hope for getting it this week. I got next day shipping too.

 

Hmmmmmm I just noticed something...

On the Dell order page the new default color selected is Black! Before it has always been the red color. Another sign that they have plenty of black, and a shortage or red and white?

The spec sheet for the card says supports 2 or 3-antenna designs. Don't know what you lose with only 2, but you must lose something.

Not at you - just that I tried and tried to get the 2.4g CPU
And was shot down, multiple times.

Is this an outside the US thing, or what??

 

Originally ordered 6/26, but got no confirmation so was told to cancel and reorder, which I did on 6/28. Within minutes I got both confirmations and was told to cancel the first order. My ship date was 7/28 and moved to 8/2 with the reorder ...now its almost August, and I've been in build forEVER!!! ... okay, so I'm not unique, I know, but its kind of irritating when people who ordered a week or two after me are already receiving theirs, or at least moving into testing/boxing. Dell's whole set up is BS!...

Can't wait to get my m1330

 

Ok, so here's my deal. I talked to a CSR who finally was willing to help me. He told me to reorder my exact specs, and he'll check to see my new order in 24 hrs. He said he promises that he will reenter the price with what I paid originally. What I lose is the fact that my ESD goes from 8/17 to 9/7. Whatever. This is so frustrating. I don't even know if I should bring up the free bag now.:confused2:

Dont quote me on this but......

I'm led to believe the removal of the T7700 was nothing to do with tech issues and far more likely to be something such as:

The processor was put on the websites at an incorrect price and too many people took advantage of the mistake. In order to rectify the situation Dell claimed they were having tech issues and just changed or cancelled orders with the T7700.

 

Come on...t7700 has got only 200Mhz from t7500...its not a HUGE speed emprovement.

 

If I recall from the configurator, wasn't the price premium for the T7700 more than the entire cost of the processor?

I feel the same way DELL is stupid because most of these people have est. ship dates that are still kinda far while others like myself have 8/1 thats this wednesday and still in build Im really pissed now.

There seems to be another cable there...notice 2xgrey cables and one black...one grey wire is not conected

 

if it's the WWAN cable...you can connect it to the WLAN card with no problem.

 

You'll get there... try to push for Priority BUILD.

 

As far as I can see the biggest factor controlling whether yours gets out of Production in the US is the colour. So long as it is black you can get out. I don't think a single red or white has (among forum members).

As for the rest of the world - I think our factories may not have been shipped the LED screens.

It was a combo of wanting a maxed out machine (I have ordered 4G RAM for ALOT less than Dell had it) and frankly it also was the principal. It was supposed to have it.

When Endgaget leaked it - it was touted as 2.4G.
So, that is what I wanted.

I also wanted a GigE NIC, but gave up fast on that one...

YES Bring it up. Because basically he is placing the order again for you, a *new* order. So you want to get your free bag that is a current promotion.

Not only can I not access the review at http://www.reviewpub.net/2007/07/dell-xps-m1330-.html but I don't seem to be able to view the Flicr photos either.

At least in the UAE you get a nice "Site Blocked" screen with feedback button.

Keyword in your quote is 'leaked.' Why would you want it anyway? Minimal performance increase, more power draw, more heat, plus Dell obviously is having issues with them. Didn't they pull them for compatibility reasons? I'd rather have a computer that works than one that doesn't, but is rated to run slightly faster.

My wireless N card is running like a turtle. I'm maxed at 54.0 Mbps in the same room! I have a belkin wireless g router though. Any recommendations on a top of the line Wireless N router??

Dont forget those that couldnt afford or chose not to have certain components always defend their descison. Bit like the ones that are delighted they didnt get the LED screen lol

 

Err is Wireless N meant to run faster on a G network? I would assume you are just in G mode?

 

Yeah, your definately being limited by your router. Its the turtle, not your card. Get something that is MIMO to get the fastest. I have a Zyxel X-550 Xtrememimo 802.11G which maxes at 100Mbps. This one looks pretty cool to me: TRENDnet 300Mbps Wireless N-draft Router.

 

YESSSSSSSS. I ordered during the morning of June 26 and I am finally in the boxing stage. Hopefully it gets here soon.

I don't think that N technology is quite ironed out yet though, so you may want to wait to get the best N router.
