I would have just ordered from Dell America and had it shipped to Canada, if possible.
-
Thats uber-sad... While I do share the excitement over the anticipation of getting the m1330, its not to the point of insanity. At least not yet.
-
Oh its straight insanity for me...over 100 posts in just this one thread...not quite as nuts as blahdude but still.
-
That can't be done.. otherwise, everyone would do it so that they could pay way less money for their laptop.. and then Dell Canada would have to stop ripping people off...
It's like how games cost way more at amazon.ca than amazon.com but amazon.com refuses to ship games to Canada! lol -
I pretty much have 20 pages of paper now with Pre-Production and In Production - Build written on it.
You want to hear really bad addiction, I have asked for more info about the build stage like 10 times now.
-
actually there are two in boxing stage because i am one of them!!!!
-
this is thread is getting bad, people are looking for solid shipping information from this thread but instead they have to read through about two dozen off topic and of tons misinformed messages before they find anything relevant.
-
this is so stange i have identical specs every thing mentioned is the same I ordered down to the color and I ordered on 6/27 and still in build
-
Yeah but I have 102 posts of useful information...
Blah just keeps spamming phone numbers, and you well I don't know what your posts are all about.
If they were dedicated their M1330 then they would have been posting here already... Also once people start getting their systems we will see more accurate information posted in a new thread most likely. -
not sure what the difference is. I'm a business that used my epp. They actually call me about every 3 to 4 days. Maybe you got yours a whole lot cheaper and they want to make as much profit before their quarter ends. That would be my guess. I paid like $2400.00 for mine.
-
Wow, that stinks!
-
Dell treats corporate cusomters a lot better than regular ones.
-
I'm not too surprised. That's how the world goes...
-
They should! I buy a lot more than the average home owner. I have about 10 dell systems. The funny thing is i'm just buying this one for my personal use. I need a good system to keep up with my fantasy football stats! haha
-
I really do feel bad for the customers who really need these for school though. Dell should of planned a lot better because i'm sure they will miss out on a lot of business.
-
I know but it's still annoying.
A lot of people are "corporate customers" by virtue of purchasing via an EPP. They are often no different than a regular customer.
I can understand giving preferential treatment to a business that purchases a lot of Dell stuff, though. -
I think they should have at least put their estimates on the actual site (nothing was on the Canadian site). Like to make an order and then get your confirmation email saying "estimate: end of August" is kind of silly. You expect a reasonable time even with a product launch. And then having sales reps give you bad dates just makes it worse.
I totally understand Dell having problems with supply, etc. I don't think they could necessarily have planned adequately for the launch. I think the key issue is communication. Those students could have bought other laptops had the known they wouldn't be getting their Dells until after they're at school. -
I am an active commenter on Direct2Dell (Dell's Blog) and saw this comment (to me) by Dell....
Hopefully they will have an update today! -
I just got off the phone with my rep. She told me there is a delay for my order because one or more parts are back ordered and I can contact sales at 1-800-284-3355 extension 7261843 if I want to know the exact parts. She will also submit a request to expedite the order and change the shipping method from ground to next business day (isn't "expediate" = next-day shipping?).
My order went into Build this Monday morning. -
i ordered on the 27th also, still in production, good thing I don't need it urgently.
if they dont ship by 29th like they claimed, ill start looking hard at the new sony sz6 out of spite
-
If you find out more info, please let us know! Thanks!

numberOfPosts++
-
What does that mean?
-
In many programming languages, that would increment a variable called "numberOfPosts" by 1. I was just saying you were adding 1 more post to your total in the thread.
-
C++ Short hand for numberOfPosts = numberOfPosts + 1
He is just incrementing his post count by 1
Yeah that's right my name is not just there so I can use monkeys as my avatar. -
how about
do while m1330received=false
numberOfPosts++
loop
lol -
at this point, I'm getting worried that someone goes mad waiting for their 1330 and starts shooting ppl....
-
I really hope that's part of a multi-threaded application... either way, it'll probably overflow eventually...
-
Starts? Notice how nobody is answering at the call centre anymore?
-
When I chatted with another rep one day ago, he assured me no part shortage on my order. I don't know which rep I should believe.
-
My order just got updated from testing at 8:20AM EST this morning to BOXING now at 11:46AM
-
True no one.
Seriously, don't believe any of them. They're all clueless. -
Wow, congrats!!
-
Oh... wow... i'm a programmer of many languages (C, C++, PHP, Java, etc) and I didn't even pick that up. LMAO...
-
i was told the same thing
-
S... I'm still in preproduction here in France, and I see people going from testing to boxing all over the place in this forum. Am I just punished coz I'm french Michael Dell??? Please stop torturing us!
-
sesshomaru Suspended Disbelief!

(10 char) -
The United States does not torture.
-
!!!!!! Do we have a winner? (first person to shipping)
lol... post your tracking number! I'll live bicariously through you! -
... but its an international customer (INDIA).
... she/he's been posting about having an early ship date for awhile too.
-
sesshomaru Suspended Disbelief!
He... I'd been in build since 13th... And I guess it's just the time zones.. You'll see yours shipped as soon as it's 20th July in your part of the world...
OT: Why would a "she" love anime girls? -
oooooooo.....
I know a few girls who loves anime girls...
-
Ordered 07/03, pre-production since 07/06, EDD 07/30 (not yet delayed)
My rep sworn that i'll have my m1330 for that date. Must i believe her?
I'm in Italy, if that counts. -
Maybe? Every country has their specific problems. Not sure who or what to believe anymore :-(
-
thats funny mine has been in the build stage not pre production for 2 days lol im in the us but i wish mine would ship sooner
-
sesshomaru Suspended Disbelief!
My rep started sending me flirtatious forwards, after I called her too many times regarding my nb...
At least that wasn't bad...
-
and thats where you forward it to someone above here, even if you call 100 times they should still respect you. you may want you order but they should never make the customer mad... but we are talking about dell right?
-
sesshomaru Suspended Disbelief!
Why would I be mad? Besides, I don't keep forwards anyway.. Would post the content of her next irrelevant mail(irrelevant to my order, that is... )
Is it 20th anywhere else in the world, where someone's waiting for their XPS? -
For the people who have their order in the ship stage, does it reflect it on the Dell Order Status web page? Or only on the phone?
-
Ok, this is just getting strange now. I just called a customer service representative for the first time since I am concerned that I have been in pre-production for 18 days here in the states. To my surprise, I was told that I actually have TWO m1330 orders to my customer account. Yes...TWO. Both orders were confirmed and each had unique order numbers. The one that I knew about and have been checking every couple hours for the past 18 days was ordered 7/2. I had an order placed on 6/29 that I had canceled on 6/29 itself because I didnt get a confirmation email for several days. But apparently that first order got confirmed and has an estimated ship date of 8/17, whereas the order I've been tracking has a date of 8/23.
To my further surprise, the first order is in the build phase of production.
The customer service rep then put me on hold for about 5 minutes and then told me that her supervisor told her that it would be best if I canceled my first order rather than my second order. I was appalled by this because my first order is in build phase whereas the 2nd has been in preproduction for 18 days now. She said that there are manufacturer holds (the casing, and the fingerprint reader palmrest) on the first order. There was no way in hell I was about to cancel that first order now that it is in the build phase. So I think I am just going to see which order progresses to the next phase first and then cancel the other order.
The only difference between the 2 orders is that the earlier one has the part number:
320-5583 13.3 Inch Wide Screen WXGA TL WLED Backlit LCD with Camera, XPS M1330
And the later order has the part number:
320-5591 Slim and Light LCD with Matte Black Casing and Camera XPS M1330
Post when XPS M1330 ordered and when/if shipped
