SMALL PRINT!!
"The system will ship direct from Dell to you. Your contract and warranty will be direct with Dell. I am merely placing the order on behalf of yourself and passing on payment. This allows you to benefit from the discount I receive whilst allowing myself to make 5% profit."
Bet they dont know about the 500 year wait..
-
hahahaha... i have never had to wait like this for a laptop, or for any consumer electronics for that matter.
-
yeah i never have waiting like this for anything either...the most was on black friday i stood outside compusa for 40 minutes to get a digital camera..that was a year ago and the price is still $20 higher today compared to then
-
one shipment in india so far.. hopefully we'll have true user reviews soon.
-
Yes we have, I am reading up here at work as I myself have one on order too...unfortunately its still PP, but I get to check it internally without having to call the number.
-
lol, can you check my order on the internal system?
-
Unfortunately... they can't view information that we can't already get from calling the 1-800 number :-(. It's one of the reasons why CSR's are so useless -- they aren't equipt with information!
-
Things that make you go "ARGHHH!!!"
1. Unreliable shipping information
2. Unreliable shipping information
3. Unreliabel shipping information -
Good thing I'm not a CSR I would hate my life with all you guys calling in....
-
*sniff* i just want to go into testing.....*sniff*
-
Hi guys... please check my recent post about shipping info on my XPS 1330... http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=144111

Interesting... I am gonna wait for the specs before I conclude anything.
-
i have faith we are going to by pass the sticky on this forum for most number of views.... i will take credit for 10% of them
-
What's the record for the most number of posts? LOL...
-

WHY DO I HAVE SO MUCH WORK TODAY!!! I will try to keep u all posted...
-

-

-
eh ive done nothing all day...but then again im just an intern...im the "internet checker" lol
-
hahahaha me too!! Gotta make sure it is up and running! It's an important job.
Where you interning at? -
Can't you just sign up for one of those services that checks uptime and sends you an e-mail when the site is down?
Hehe they have a free one: http://www.siteuptime.com/ Then you can just goof off and get a text message if the site goes down. -
Its like working @ the NOC... sometimes software can't handle it all!
-
I just got this email....
-
It's funny to see how the LED LCD's are no longer an issue...
-
well i say "internet checker" because I dont really do much sometimes...but If there is work to be done I am configuring cisco routers, switches, wireless bridges, shipping them out, stuff like that...its really cool stuff
-
Not bad, i'm monitoring this thread for a while now, but decided to take part, just for the fun of it.

Ok, I just got out of the phone with the rep from dell. MY BABY WILL BE SHIPPING NEXT TUESDAY (or even monday he said), he told me to chekc order status via the 1-800 number (unlike the last rep who told me that was not an accurate way... GO FIGURE!!! DELL'S WORLD IS A MYSTERIOUS PLACE!!), I just checked my status (I checked it at 6:30AM this morning and said Building stage) and it says BOXING!!! the rep said it should change to shipping by the end of today... he said they fixed the shortage on LED screens (but got new stock problems on other parts.. he didn't give details on which parts). As far as I'm concerned looks like my 1330 will be home next Wednesday!!! Two reps confirm the story so it must be true!!! I will check 1-800 status during today UNTIL IT CHANGES!!!
Well, I don't know how I'm supposed to work now!!! I'm so excited about this... I just wanna go home and go over all the reviews/pics/vids about the M1330 for the 100th time!!!
Hopefully more people will be receiving this great news as the rep said they are contacting people to ask for a change on shipping method... CROSS YOUR FINGERS AND KEEP YOUR PHONE CLOSE BY AT ALL TIMES!!!!
ok.. time to go TRY to work until freedom arrives at 4PM!!! TIC TAC TIC TAC... -
where are lead times listed?
-
UPDATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
http://direct2dell.com/one2one/archive/2007/07/20/21613.aspx
... and my name is in the Blog .. heh heh heh -
It's listed when you build the system. There should be a box on the right hand side stating the Prelim Ship date (you hafta play around with it). If you click on the link, it will break it down.
-
Wow! This sounds like really great news!
I sure hope they are accurate this time and don't do any changes saying that they've gotten the wrong info like last time. -
Well at least 1 shipped this week. It would have been nice if it was in my hemisphere but hey it shipped.
We've got another shipping early next week. Maybe it really isnt vaporware.
I gotta decide what im gonna do. I got a pretty good deal on the notebook when i ordered it so i might stick it out but i can't just let dell get away with it.
I wonder how many csrs i have to talk to before one will give me an additonal discount. -
so does anyone know what kind of performance we can expect from the 8400? I got the T7300 cpu....im sure it will be way better than my 9300, it has a 1.6 centrino, 1 gig of ram and the 64mb ati x300.
-
Mine is a 1.5 Ghz centrino, 1 GB ram, and an Internet Intel 82842/55 Graphics "card" with 32 MB ram... oh... and with white spots all over the place :-(
Graphics should be good enough for OK gaming.
-
It will definitely be better. Some reviews mentioned the m1330 to perform much better than average in the 3DMark scoring against other laptops with comparable configurations, at around 5600 marks I think with the NVidia 8400M GS graphics card. I can't remember which review it was in though.
-
Well stats wise its nearly twice as powerful as the 7400GO.
So as numbers never directly translate 1:1 i expect to see something like 50% more power from it.
Edit: In direct comparison with the M1210 that is. -
I just got off the phone at Dell. The #1 thing that's causing the delay of the M1330 shipment is actually the processors. All of the new Santa Rosas (T7100, T7300, T7500) are backlogged, and Dell is getting new orders of them.
-
Dell's story continues to change, unlike our estimated ship dates...
-
I don't believe anything that's posted on that blog untill we start seeing some members get notebooks in there hands .
-
Well.... some people (esp. international customers) have had their estimated ship dates changed.... with it moving back a few weeks/months. LOL.
-
Which is probably because they priorised the US/CA market for the first delivery of the "rare" parts, just to kick the product off. Would have done the same thing, wouldn't help a thing if the US gets the LEDs but is missing the the palmrest that got delivered to asia.
I'd appreciate if they would at least shipping the thing somewhere, just to see something happening even if its not mine nearing delivery.
Anyways, i have no idea whats going on, my sales rep hasn't come back with any information so far. -
I agree with HCW, I will believe DELL's word when I get the tracking number (assuming the box doesnt come empty... hmm.. that would cause me some serious and irreparable psychological problems...
) . I will for sure be posting as many pictures as I can get with my 2GB SD card... hmm... maybe not that many... he he
Well, I will keep calling the 1-800 to see if it moved to shipping as I was told it would... -
I predict that you should move into shipping by Sunday night...
-
I have got $50 that says no way
-
no bet here. i prefer to see the glass as half full on any sign of hope.
Post when XPS M1330 ordered and when/if shipped
